Holker Street is a sports stadium in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. As well as being a football ground, it has also been used for motorcycle speedway. It once had some leisure centre facilities, including four squash courts, which have now been demolished. Its owners, and tenants for the majority of its history, are Barrow A.F.C., who have played at the ground since 1909. Despite its current capacity being just over 5,000, some 16,874 crammed the stadium in 1954 when Barrow played Swansea Town in the FA Cup third round.

St. James Church located on Blake Street in Barrow-in-Furness, belongs to the Church of England's Diocese of Carlisle within the ecclesiastical Province of York. The present church building dates from the mid-19th century and is Grade II* listed.

The Scotch Buildings was a large complex of tenement housing located off Duke Street in Barrow-in-Furness, then Lancashire, United Kingdom. The build was commissioned by the Barrow Hematite Steel Company and constructed somewhat hastily by Scottish firm Smith and Caird between 1871 and 1872 to address a chronic housing shortage in the rapidly expanding town. The complex took on a triangular form with a centrally located courtyard. The four storey building was constructed from the iconic Hawcoat sandstone and was bound by Blake Street, Duke Street and Walney Road. Two shops and a working men's club were sited on the three corners of the building. It contained some 260 flats housing over 1,000 residents. The Scotch Buildings were ultimately demolished in 1956, the entire site is now shared by a Travis Perkins outlet and the Former Agrilek Engineering company office, now Saint Mary's Hospice Furniture Warehouse.

Hindpool is an area and electoral ward of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. It is bordered by Barrow Island, Central Barrow, Ormsgill, Parkside and the Walney Channel, the local population stood at 5,851 in 2011. The ward covers the entire western half of the town centre and includes Barrow's main shopping district. Other local landmarks include the Furness College Channelside campus, the Dock Museum and the Main Public Library. Hindpool is also home to two stadia - Barrow Raiders' Craven Park and Barrow A.F.C.'s Holker Street.

Craven Park is a rugby league stadium in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. It is the home of Barrow Raiders rugby league team.

St Mary of Furness is a Roman Catholic church located on Duke Street in Barrow-in-Furness, England. The congregation was founded in 1858, however the current building was constructed between 1866 and 1867. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Barrow-in-Furness Main Public Library (more usually known as Barrow Central Library or Barrow Library) is a Grade II listed Beaux-Arts style building located at Ramsden Square, Barrow-in-Furness, England. Operated since 1974 by Cumbria County Council, it is the largest library in the town and the present structure, designed by J A Charles was originally built as a Carnegie library with support from the Carnegie Foundation.The first library in Barrow was opened on 18 September 1882 in temporary iron buildings in Schneider Square; in 1887 this was transferred to a room within Barrow Town Hall. The growing population meant that a larger building was needed and this was eventually met by the construction of the present accommodation at the junction of Abbey Road with Ramsden Square. The building itself bears a date of 1915 (denoted by an engraving by the main entrance which reads 'ANNO DNI MCMXV'), although delays brought about by World War I meant that it wasn't actually completed and opened until 1922. The library formerly housed the Furness Museum which held artefacts both from across the world and also from the local area. The museum (always operated by Barrow Borough Council) was opened in 1930 in an upstairs lecture room. It closed in 1991 and most of the exhibits were eventually moved to larger purpose built premises next to Walney Channel - the Dock Museum. After building modifications in 1998, the library has also worked with the Cumbria Archive Service in the joint operation of a local archives or county record office branch. This now shares a public searchroom together with the local studies library. Besides the Central Library there are currently five other libraries in the present borough: Askam, Barrow Island, Dalton, Roose and Walney. A sixth branch at Ormsgill has now been replaced by a library link facility in Ormsgill Children's Centre

The Nan Tait Centre is a Grade II listed building located at Abbey Road in the Hindpool area of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England.Designed by architects Woodhouse and Willoughby it was built for the Barrow Corporation as the town's new Technical School. The foundation stone was laid on 26 May 1900 and the school was officially opened three years later on 25 August 1903. The Technical School narrowly escaped Luftwaffe bombing during World War II, although its close neighbour Christ Church was almost completely destroyed in April 1941.In 1970 the technical school was replaced by Thorncliffe School in Hawcoat. The result was neglected maintenance and the building fell into a near dilapidated state. Despite the situation, the building was ultimately redeveloped in the early 2000s at a cost of £4 million and was named in honour of Agnes "Nan" Tait (Mayor of the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness from 1959 to 1960). The Nan Tait centre is now multifunctional serving as a cultural, exhibition and arts centre as well as a general office building. The Barracudas carnival band, Dare Dance, Capita Symonds, Barrow Borough Sports Council and Barrow Register Office are all tenants of the centre.

Ramsden Hall located at 48 Abbey Road in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England is a Grade II listed former public bath house. Funded by industrialist and local mayor Sir James Ramsden it was constructed in 1872 and was relatively small in comparison to other public baths in Barrow. Despite no longer serving its original purpose Ramsden Hall stands as the only remaining example of a 19th-century public bath in the town. For a period of its history, the building served as an annexe of the adjacent Technical School although at present it is occupied by offices of the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Abbey Road Working Men's Club (also known as Lord's Tavern and the House of Lords) is a partially destroyed Grade II listed building located at Abbey Road close to Ramsden Square in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. Design by architect Henry Darbishire it was completed in 1871 and extended in the early 20th century, notable features previously included an ornate hipped roof with multiple oval dormers and an engraving of the Borough Coat of Arms. During the building's lifetime it functioned as a social club and later public house. Abbey Road Working Men's Club was granted listed status in 1976. Enforcement action was taken on the building's owners in 2007 by the Planning Inspectorate to remove the national flag which had been painted on its windows in celebration of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. It was considered to be harmful to the appearance of both the listed building and wider Conservation Area in which it is located. On 11 January 2017 a fire gutted the building, entirely destroying its 20th century extension, the iconic roof and leaving an empty shell of an interior. The surviving walls are in a precarious condition and could be potentially demolished in their entirety.

Ramsden Square is a square located at the intersection of Abbey Road and Duke Street in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. It marks the boundary of the Central and Hindpool wards and now acts as a major roundabout. Ramsden Square was first laid out in the 1840s to act as a focal point of Sir James Ramsden's master plan for the new town of Barrow, separating its burgeoning industries and commercial core. The centerpiece of the square is a statue of Ramsden himself while it is framed by a number of historic buildings including Barrow Central Library, the National Westminster Bank Building and formerly the Barrow Jute Works.

The John Whinnerah Institute is a Grade II listed Art Deco building and former educational establishment located on Abbey Road in Barrow-in-Furness, England. Having been constructed between 1937 and 1938 on the site of the demolished Jute Works it is the newest listed structure in the town, despite this it was drastically altered in 2004 when the entire interior was demolished to accommodate new retail units leaving only the Abbey Road and Hindpool Road facades.The building was constructed post the Unemployment Act 1934 specifically to house the Barrow Women's Institute and Junior Instruction Centre which had been using temporary premises since founding in 1925. The building is a major success story of early 20th-century attempts to improve educational facilities for young people and women from the poorest areas of major industrial towns and cities in the UK. The John Whinnerah Institute was ultimately described by the President of the National Union of Teachers, as 'the finest Women's Institute in this country'. The building was named in honour of John Whinnerah, the Mayor of the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness between 1928-1929 and 1929-1930.The original footprint of the John Whinnerah Institute is now occupied by a Next and Cancer Research store, which form part of Hindpool Retail Park.
