Lowry Park North

ZooTampa at Lowry Park (formerly known as Lowry Park Zoo or Lowry Park Zoological Garden) is a 63-acre (25 ha) nonprofit zoo located in Tampa, Florida. In 2009, Lowry Park Zoo was voted the #1 Family Friendly Zoo in the US by Parents Magazine, and is recognized by the State of Florida as the center for Florida wildlife conservation and biodiversity (HB 457). The zoo is operated by the Lowry Park Zoological Society, an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The zoo also exists as a center for conservation of endangered wildlife both locally and around the globe. Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) as well as a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), Conservation Breeding Specialist Group (CBSG), the Florida Association of Zoos and Aquariums (FAZA) and the Florida Attractions Association (FAA). ZooTampa traces its origins to a small animal exhibit that was located on the campus of the University of Tampa in downtown beginning in the 1930s. It moved to its current location in the Seminole Heights neighborhood 1957 and become known as the Lowry Park Zoo, with various small rides and other entertainment facilities added in the following years. The animal enclosures were run down and deemed unhealthy by the 1980s, and after several years of fundraising, the zoo was completely redesigned and rebuilt in 1987-1988. Since reopening, several new sections and attractions have been added, often with a geographic theme. In 2018, the zoo was rebranded as "ZooTampa at Lowry Park" as part of another large renovation and expansion project. Nearly 1 million people visit the 65-acre zoo a year to see its more than 1,300 animals.

George D. Chamberlain High School is a public high school in Tampa, Florida, United States. It was opened in 1956 on North Boulevard (on the corner of Busch Boulevard). The school is named in honor of George D. Chamberlain, who served for several years as a trustee for the Hillsborough County School System.In 2002, the school started a culinary operations academy program supported by Outback Steakhouse. No other school in Hillsborough County offers this program. Chamberlain is also the only school in the Hillsborough County Public School District to offer Marine Corps JROTC, with 100 plus cadets enrolled. Chamberlain boasts nationally award winning Junior Achievement 3DE Academic program as well as the Cambridge AICE program which allows students to earn an international diploma by taking advanced academic courses and passing exams administered by the University of Cambridge in England. Jean Street Shipyard (established 1843) is a shipyard in the United States, located on the Hillsborough River in Tampa, Florida. It is located approximately 5 miles from the mouth of the Hillsborough River, about 1 mile above the Hillsborough Avenue bridge in what is now the neighborhood of Seminole Heights. It is a full service shipyard with wet slips and a Travelift for hauling vessels from the water.

The Battle of Fort Brooke was a minor engagement fought October 16–18, 1863 in and around Tampa, Florida during the American Civil War. The most important outcome of the action was the destruction of two Confederate blockade runners which had been hidden upstream on the Hillsborough River.

The Tampa United Korean School (TUKS) was formed on March 5, 1995, when local Korean schools in the Tampa area were merged to make in improved centre for Korean language and cultural education. TUKS is a registered non-profit organization in Florida.TUKS offers classes on Korean language, culture and history, by teaching the various levels of Korean language (Hangul) courses and having events on Korean traditional holidays: Chuseok-Korean (Thanksgiving Day), Solnal-Korean (New Year's Day), and Korean Alphabet (Hangul) Day. Other special events are offered throughout the semester such as 'Word contest', 'Storytelling contest', 'Singing contest', 'Drawing contest'. Extracurricular activities include Learning Hangul though Korean children's songs, and Korean traditional dances. TUKS is a member of "The National Association for Korean Schools" and "The Florida Association for Korean Schools".

Sulphur Springs is a neighborhood and district located within the city limits of Tampa, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the neighborhood had a population of 6,308. In the late 19th century the mineral springs were a draw. In the 1940s the area was a major tourist attraction and home to a 40-foot water slide and gator farm. It is home to Sulphur Springs History and Heritage Museum.

Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) is a nonprofit career education school that grants associate degrees and diplomas in allied health professions. UMA also has a continuing medical education (CME) division that provides training to more than 50,000 physicians, nurses and other medical professionals annually. As of July 2024, UMA has more than 90,000 alumni and more than 15,000 students nationwide.
