Chardon Township is one of the sixteen townships of Geauga County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 4,494.

The Holden Arboretum, in Kirtland, Ohio, is one of the largest arboreta and botanical gardens in the United States, with more than 3,600 acres (1,500 ha), including 600 acres (240 ha) devoted to collections and gardens. Diverse natural areas and ecologically sensitive habitats make up the rest of the holdings. Holden's collections includes 9,400 different kinds of woody plants, representing 79 plant families. Specializing in the woody plants that can be grown in the climate of northern Ohio, Holden has a number of specimens obtained during wilderness collection trips, particularly to China and Korea near the 40th parallel, areas with a similar climate to Northeast Ohio. Many Trees like Dawn Redwoods are planted there. Holden is home to two National Natural Landmarks, accessed by guided hikes, and is a Midwest representative for The Center for Plant Conservation. Special gardens include the Myrtle S. Holden Wildflower Garden, the Helen S. Layer Rhododendron Garden, and the Arlene and Arthur Holden Jr. Butterfly Garden. The Holden Arboretum also features extensive Crabapple, Lilac, Viburnum and Conifer Collections.

Concord Township is one of the five townships of Lake County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 19,254. Lake County is part of the Cleveland-Elyria, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Joseph Sawyer House, also known as the Sawyer-Barrow house and the summer estate Twin Maples, was built c. 1825 for Joseph Sawyer (1778-1849) by the Western Reserve's master builder Jonathan Goldsmith. The house is located in Mentor, Ohio.

Mentor is a former railroad depot located on Station Street in Mentor, Ohio. The station opened in 1890. A defunct New York Central freight house is located across the tracks from the depot. The depot is currently open and used by a restaurant. Mentor station is on the National Register of Historic Places as the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern RR Depot and Freight House.

Kirtland is a city in Lake County, Ohio, United States. The population was 6,937 at the 2020 census. Kirtland is known for being the early headquarters of the Latter Day Saint movement from 1831 to 1837 and the site of the movement's first temple, the Kirtland Temple, completed in 1836. The Kirtland Temple and nearby Historic Kirtland Village are maintained as historic sites highlighting that era. The city is also the location for multiple parks in the Lake Metroparks system, as well as the Holden Arboretum.

On the night of Wednesday, June 21, 1905, the New York Central Railroad's flagship passenger train, the 20th Century Limited, derailed in Mentor, Ohio, on the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway line, killing 21 passengers and injuring more than 25 others on board. A switch from the mainline to a freight siding was open, causing the Limited to leave the mainline and overrun the siding at high speed. The cause of the accident was never officially determined, but overwhelming evidence points to an act of rail sabotage. The 20th Century Limited connected New York City to Chicago; its running time had just weeks earlier been reduced from 20 hours to 18.

Lake Metroparks Farmpark is a working farm located in Kirtland, Ohio. Opened in 1990, the farm is located on 235 acres (95 hectares) with fields, gardens and standard farm buildings. The park hopes to help people understand how farm life has developed over time, and reinforces that farming is a current and viable lifestyle. Lake Farmpark strives not only to help people understand the past of agriculture but also to draw attention to the present situation of the industry while envisioning future applications. The farm features dairy cows and daily milking sessions, wagon rides, a plant science center and a building with historic and modern tractors and farm equipment. The barnyard animals include pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, horses, llamas, alpacas and goats. Seasonal and weekend activities include cheese making, sheep-shearing, maple sugaring and harvesting. It was named one of the top 10 educational sites to learn about farming by USA Today.

Sessions House (also called the "Tuscan House") is a historic Italianate style house at 157 Mentor Avenue in Painesville, Ohio. Constructed in Italianate style in 1873 for the widow of one of the region's pioneers, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Chardon Local School District is a school district which serves part of Geauga County, Ohio, United States. It is based in Chardon, Ohio. In 2023, Niche ranked the district 84th best school district in Ohio out of 607 districts.

Old South Church is a historic church at 9802 Chillicothe Road in Kirtland, Ohio. It was built in 1859 with Romanesque and Carpenter Gothic elements and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.It was built on the site of the first church in Kirtland, which was a log cabin built by the first congregation, which formed in 1819. It has a gable roof and a three-story tower topped by an octagonal spire.The congregation is currently affiliated with the United Church of Christ.
