The University of Mauritius (UoM) (French: Université de Maurice) is the national university of Mauritius. It is the oldest and largest university in the country in terms of student enrollment and curriculum offered. The public university's main campus is located at Réduit, Moka.

Queen Elizabeth College (QEC) is a girls secondary school in Mauritius. It has now become a mixed school and accommodates girls and boys of age 15 to 18 years based on their performance at the National Certificate of Education (NCE) examinations. The school prepares its students for the O Level examinations, awarding the School Certificate; and the A Level examinations, awarding the Higher School Certificate. The school is well known for having produced many female leaders at the national level as well as at the international level. The graduates have become female scholars, professionals, scientists, leaders and politicians amongst others.

The Open University of Mauritius (OU) is a public university in Mauritius. It offer programmes leading to undergraduate, and postgraduate degrees through open distance learning. OU's headquarters are located in Réduit, Moka. The OU was established under the Open University of Mauritius Act No. 2 of 2010, proclaimed in July 2012. Its first founder Director-General is Dr Kaviraj Sharma Sukon.The first graduation ceremony was held on 8 July 2015. The guest was the French-Mauritian Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Dr Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio. It was the first public university in Mauritius to be ISO-certified as from 7 July 2015. The University was re-certified in November 2018 from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015. Moka (Mauritian Creole pronunciation: [moka]) is a village in Mauritius located mainly in the Moka District. The western part of the village lies in the Plaines Wilhems District. Since 1967 it forms part of Constituency No. 8 Quartier Militaire and Moka. The village is administered by the Moka Village Council under the aegis of the Moka District Council. According to the census made by Statistics Mauritius in 2011, the population was at 8,846. The elevation is 203 meters and can be up to 425 meters in some places. Moka is directly on the other side of the Moka Range from Port Louis. The village is close to the mountain Le Pouce and the town Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill. Réduit is a suburb of the village where the State House and University of Mauritius is situated. The village is also home to the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute.

Best FM is a Hindi-language entertainment radio station in Mauritius that is owned and broadcast by the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. The radio started operating on the 5th of October 2010 and is entirely dedicated to Bollywood music and has as slogan "Aur Kya Chahiye" (What better). The radio channel opens as its sister station Taal FM which has been rebranded to a regional radio station, broadcasting shows in 13 popular speaking languages in Mauritius.

Ébène (Mauritian Creole pronunciation: [ebɛn]) is a suburb of Quatre Bornes, Mauritius, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of the capital, Port Louis. Construction began in November 2001, with the suburb being promoted as a new information technology hub for Mauritius and as a link between African and Asian markets. The aim was to create a hi-tech office area in order to dynamise the country. As a result, it is also referred to as Ébène Cybercity or Cyber City.

Loreto College Rose Hill is a private secondary girls' school in Rose Hill, Mauritius. One of seven Loreto College campuses in Mauritius, it opened in 1951. Cathy de Cazanove is the current rector and the asst. rector is Roselyn Thomas.

The Mahatma Gandhi Institute (commonly known as MGI), located in Moka on the island of Mauritius, is an educational institution focused of secondary, tertiary and pre-vocational education. It also promotes and facilitates research and preservation of cultural heritage and arts.

AFRINIC (African Network Information Centre) is the regional Internet registry (RIR) for Africa. Its headquarters are in Ebene, Mauritius. Before AFRINIC was formed, IP addresses (IPv6 and IPv4) for Africa were distributed by the Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), and the RIPE NCC. ICANN provisionally recognized AFRINIC on 11 October 2004. The registry became operational on 22 February 2005. ICANN gave it final recognition in April 2005.

Sir Gaëtan Duval Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Beau Bassin-Rose Hill, Plaines Wilhems District, Mauritius. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of US Beau Bassin-Rose Hill. The stadium holds 6,500 people.
