Danderyd Municipality (Danderyds kommun; Swedish pronunciation: [ˈdânːdɛˌryːd] ) is a municipality north of Stockholm in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. It is one of the smallest municipalities of Sweden, but the most affluent. Its seat is located in Djursholm and it is located within Stockholm urban area. The "old" rural municipality Danderyd was split up during the early 20th century, when Djursholm and Stocksund broke away in 1901 and 1910 respectively. Since 1971 Danderyd Municipality is reunified in approximately the old boundaries. The population in 2019 was 32,857. The four districts making up Danderyd are: Danderyd, Djursholm, Stocksund and Enebyberg.

Djursholm Castle (Djursholms slott) is a castle in Sweden.Djursholm is located in Danderyd Municipality, within Stockholm urban area. The castle includes building components from the late Middle Ages. It was the main building on the estate Djursholm, which was owned by the House of Banér from 1508 to 1813. Nils Eskilsson (Banér), who was lord of Djursholm 1508 to 1520, built a new palace at the place where Djursholm Castle remains. Djursholm Castle was the residence of both Privy Councillour Gustaf Banér and his son, Field Marshal Johan Banér. Svante Gustavsson Banér gave the castle its present appearance in the 17th century. By the mid 17th century the castle was its present size. The main hall was fitted at this time, with plaster ceilings, stairs castle was of limestone and oak, and walls hung with art wallpaper full of gilt leather (leather wallpaper) and other materials.

Prinsvillan (the Prince Villa) is a villa on Germaniavägen 14 A in Djursholm by architects Axel Viktor Forsberg and Gustaf Hermansson. It is situated in the Grotte quarter near Djursholm Castle and is also called Grottevillan or Grotte 7. The villa was initially built in 1905 by Forsberg, but was redesigned and expanded significantly during 1908–1909 by Hermansson in the jugend inspired country mansion style typical in Sweden at the turn of the 20th century. The villa was built for Prince Erik, Duke of Västmanland (1889–1918), the youngest son of Gustaf V of Sweden, who suffered from epilepsy and lived a withdrawn life. It is, however, unclear when Prince Erik lived in the villa.In the period around the First World War the villa was residence for senior military officers. The villa has been privately owned since the 1930s and was during the 2000s a residence for the South African embassy in Sweden. Bishop Desmund Tutu visited the villa in 2004. The villa was given a preservation order as a building of national cultural interest in 2013.

Djursholm (Swedish pronunciation: [jʉːʂˈhɔlm]) is one of four suburban districts in, and the seat of Danderyd Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. Djursholm is included in the multi-municipal Stockholm urban area. Djursholm is divided into a number of different areas: Djursholms Ekeby (northwest), Svalnäs (northeast), Ösby (central), Berga (southwest) and Gamla Djursholm ('Old Djursholm', southeast). It is also partly located in Täby Municipality.

The Mittag-Leffler Institute is a mathematical research institute located in Djursholm, a suburb of Stockholm. It invites scholars to participate in half-year programs in specialized mathematical subjects. The Institute is run by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on behalf of research societies representing all the Scandinavian countries. The Institute's main building was originally the residence of Gösta Mittag-Leffler, who donated it along with his extensive mathematics library. At his death in 1927, however, Mittag-Leffler's fortune was insufficient to set up an active research institute, which began operation only in 1969 under the leadership of Lennart Carleson. The journals Acta Mathematica and Arkiv för Matematik are published by the institute. For a number of years at the beginning of the 20th century, Mittag-Leffler's villa hosted a celebratory dinner for Nobel Prize laureates.

Djursholms Sveavägen used to be a railway stop at Djursholmsbanan, a part of Roslagsbanan which was discontinued in 1976. The station was situated at Sveavägen in Djursholm. The place name was added to the street name (with a genitive s) to avoid confusion with Sveavägen in Stockholm. Station code: Djs

Djursholms Restaurant was a restaurant and meeting hall which, during 1890 to 1956, was a social meeting point in the garden town Djursholm north of Stockholm.

Bragevägen Railway Stop (in Swedish Bragevägens hållplats) used to be a railway stop of the Djursholmsbanan, a part of the Roslagsbanan which was discontinued in 1976. The station was situated at the intersection of Bragevägen and Valevägen in Djursholm, next to Djursholms församlingsgård. When coming from Stockholm Ö, it was the first stop after Djursholms Ösby and was followed by Djursholms Sveavägen.Station code: Bvg

Framnäsviken is the name of a small bay of Stora Värtan in Djursholm between the neighbourhoods Germania and Svalnäs. Until 1976 there was a railway stop here called Djursholms Framnäsviken ("Framnäsviken of Djursholm") at the eastern Djursholmsbanan, a part of Roslagsbanan which was closed that year. Station code: Djf. Originally, this railway stop was the northern end station and goods were reloaded between railway and ship transport here, Framnäsviken at the time being a commercial harbour. The bridge and the old railway bank is now used for pedestrians and bicycles and for skiing in the winter time.

Villa Pauli is a villa and club located at Strandvägen 19 in the suburb of Djursholm and county of Stockholm, Sweden. It lies on the shore of the Stora Värtan some 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) north of the centre of the city of Stockholm. The villa was built in 1907 by Anna Pauli, the daughter of Johan Wilhelm Smitt, the wealthiest man in Sweden in the 19th century. He made a fortune in Latin America in the 1850s, co-founded the Enskilda Bank and founded Handelsbanken. He then funded Alfred Nobel’s Nitroglycerine Corporation and became its Chairman 1864-1904. Together with his young relative Ragnar Sohlman, he became instrumental in establishing the Nobel Foundation and the Nobel Prize based on Alfred’s testament. He also financed the establishment of the University of Stockholm. The villa, designed by famous architect Ragnar Östberg, was richly decorated with works by the painter Georg Pauli and sculptor Carl Eldh. It remained a private residence until 1968, when it was acquired by the Catholic Church for the purpose of visiting cardinals and was used as a convent. Pope John Paul II has stayed there. In 1985 the villa was acquired by the real estate magnate Birger Gustavsson, who converted into a club for corporate members that opened September 1986. Arnfinn Röste bought the club in 1998 and upgraded and redecorated it, including interior decoration featuring antiques, original art and sculptures. Many companies use the Villa Pauli Club as a venue for an event, fashion show or product launch.

Germania is the name of a part of Djursholm in Danderyd Municipality north of Stockholm. There is a small bay of Stora Värtan called Germaniaviken, a street called Germaniavägen and the park Germaniaparken. Until 1976 there was a railway stop called Germania at a part of Roslagsbanan (Djursholmsbanan) which was closed that year. This railway stop was originally called Germaniavägen. Station code: Gem.Djursholm was created as a garden town in the late 19th century, and streets and blocks were given names from ancient Norse mythology. The name Germania, referring to a people in northern Europe, was established in 1889 in the first zoning plan for the new garden town. Many buildings in the oldest parts of Djursholm also refers to a Norse-inspired romantic nationalism. One house in this particular area was also called Germania, situated at Germaniavägen 7. The poet Alice Tegnér lived in Villa Tegnabo between 1890 and 1912, a building which used to be at Germaniavägen 5 but now is replaced.Older names for Germaniaviken were Österviken and before that Sielviken.

Näsby Manor is a manor located in Täby municipality, north of Stockholm.Originally built in the 1660s and designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder, Näsby Manor is located in the picturesque and natural setting of Näsbyviken. The manor was burned to the ground in 1897, but was rebuilt according to the original design on the initiative of Carl Robert Lamm and Dora Lamm in 1903–1904. Parts of the old manor garden still exist and are well preserved.
