Kempston Hardwick

Kempston Hardwick railway station serves the village of Kempston Hardwick in Bedfordshire, England. It should not be confused with the nearby town of Kempston. The station has two platforms next to a half-barrier level crossing. Kempston Hardwick is the least used station in Bedfordshire. However, in 2023 Universal Studios announced that it had bought a huge patch of land next to the station where it was planning to build its first UK theme park, which will transform the area if it goes ahead.

Wixams railway station is a planned railway station that is due to be built on the Midland Main Line for the Wixams new town development in Bedfordshire, England. It is proposed that the station be between Bedford and Flitwick. The station was due to be completed in 2015, but Network Rail withdrew their promise of funding. In 2017, Gallagher Estates applied for funding from the government for the station.In July 2017, it was reported the site would be located further north as part of the East West Rail project.In January 2019, East West Railway Company revealed 5 options for a potential Bedford-Cambridge route, with 3 of the options proposing a new station at Bedford South close to Wixams. However in January 2020, the preferred route was announced which does not include a Bedford South station.In January 2022 Bedford Borough Council announced that it has chosen a preferred design for the new station. This design will now be put forward as a planning application, with completion of the station expected in 2024.

The National Institute for Research into Aquatic Habitats (commonly abbreviated as NIRAH) was a planned freshwater public aquarium in Stewartby, Bedfordshire. Originally sited at a 100 hectare (250 acre) location, with an expected cost of £350 million, the project failed to meet its planned completion date in 2012. The site of the aquarium was sold in 2015, with an expected loss of £4 million.

Wootton Broadmead Halt was a railway station on the Varsity Line which served the settlement of Wootton Broadmead near Stewartby in Bedfordshire, England. Opened in 1905, it was closed temporarily during both world wars and did not reopen after 1941, officially closing in 1952.

Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Elstow was one of sixteen UK Ministry of Supply, World War II, Filling Factories. It was a medium-sized filling factory, (Filling Factory No. 16), which filled and packed munitions. It was located south of the town of Bedford, between the villages of Elstow and Wilstead in Bedfordshire. It was bounded on the northeast by the A6 and on the west by a railway line. Hostels were built nearby to accommodate the workers who were mostly female. It was built with the Ministry of Works acting as Agents; building work started in November 1940 and was completed by August 1941. It was managed as an "Agency Factory" by J. Lyons on behalf of the Ministry of Supply as, by then, the Ministry of Supply was overstretched as regards recruiting and managing the workers needed to staff these munitions factories. It had 250 buildings and the site does not appear on Ordnance Survey maps made during wartime or in the postwar period.

Wixams is a new town and civil parish located in Bedfordshire, England, which has been under construction since early 2007. It is expected to become the third largest settlement in the Borough of Bedford after Bedford itself and Kempston, and one of the largest new settlements founded in England since the British new towns movement of the first twenty five years after World War II. Part of the site is in Central Bedfordshire. At the 2011 Census the population of the new town was included in the civil parish of Wilstead.

Kempston South is an electoral ward and area within the town of Kempston, Bedfordshire, England. The boundaries of Kempston South are approximately Elstow Road to the north, the A421 road to the south and east and Woburn Road to the west. The area was developed from 1870 onwards under the name of Kempston New Town. In 1896 the settlement was absorbed into the Kempston Urban District. Today, Kempston Interchange Retail Park and the headquarters of Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service are located within the boundaries of Kempston South.

Ridgeway School is a mixed special school for pupils with physical disabilities located in Kempston, Bedfordshire, England. The school accepts pupils from all over the Borough of Bedford.

Kempston Academy (formerly 'Hastingsbury Upper School and Community College', 'Hastingsbury Business and Enterprise College' and then 'Kempston Challenger Academy') is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located on Hill Rise in Kempston, Bedfordshire, England. The school forms part of an educational campus which also includes a Child Development Centre and Ridgeway School.

Kempston is a town and civil parish in the Borough of Bedford, Bedfordshire, England, situated around 2 miles (3.2 km) south-west of Bedford town centre. It had a population of 19,330 in the 2011 census, and forms part of the wider Bedford built-up area. The River Great Ouse separates it from the Queen's Park area of Bedford.

Kempston West is an electoral ward and area within the town of Kempston, Bedfordshire, England. The boundaries of Kempston West are approximately the River Great Ouse to the north, Woburn Road to the south and east and Kempston Rural to the west. The ward was created in 2011 and was first contested in the 2011 local elections. Today, Kempston Academy and the headquarters of Bedfordshire Police are located within the boundaries of Kempston West.

Stewartby is a model village and civil parish in Bedfordshire, England, originally built for the workers of the London Brick Company. The village was designed and built to the plans of the company's architect Mr F W Walker, laid out on 'Garden City' principle, a later and more modern development than such better-known Victorian model villages as Saltaire. Started in 1926, Stewartby is also a later model than Woodlands which was first planned in 1905. The later retirement bungalow development of the 1950s and 1960s with the pavilion community centre in their midst was designed by the neo-Georgian architect Professor Sir Albert Richardson. Today, Stewartby parish also includes Kempston Hardwick.
