The province of Siena (Italian: provincia di Siena, [proˈvintʃa di ˈsjɛːna]) is a province in Tuscany, Italy. Its capital is the city of Siena.

Ombrone was a department of the First French Empire in modern-day Italy. It was named after the river Ombrone. It was formed in 1808, when the Kingdom of Etruria (formerly the Grand Duchy of Tuscany) was annexed directly to France. Its capital was Siena. The department was disbanded after the defeat of Napoleon in 1814. At the Congress of Vienna, the Grand Duchy of Tuscany was restored to its previous Habsburg-Lorraine prince, Ferdinand III. Its territory is now divided between the Italian provinces of Siena, Arezzo and Grosseto.

San Francesco is a basilica church in Siena, Tuscany, Italy. It was erected in c. 1228-1255 and later enlarged in the 14th-15th centuries, the original Romanesque edifice being turned into the current large Gothic one.

The Baroque-style church still stands as an independent chapel; while the monastery has been converted to a nursing home (Casa di Riposo) for the elderly. There is a separate Monastery of San Girolamo on via San Girolamo, located in a different contrada of Siena.

San Donato, also called San Michele al Monte di San Donato, is a Baroque style, Roman Catholic church located on the Piazza on Via dell'Abbadia, Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. The Monte de Paschi di Siena, whose original offices were in the Palazzo Salimbeni, whose rear facade faces the church, has a Pinacoteca/Museum called San Donato.

Santa Maria in Provenzano, or the Insigne Collegiata di Santa Maria in Provenzano, is a late-Renaissance-Baroque style, Roman Catholic, collegiate church in Piazza Provenzano Salvani, in the Terza Camollia, just southwest of the basilica of San Francesco, in the city of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. This Marian shrine was built around a 14th-century terracotta icon of the Madonna, which was credited with miracles. The Palio of Siena takes place on the day of veneration of this Marian devotion.

The Palazzo Palmieri, or Palazzo Nuti, is a Mannerist style urban palace, located on Via del Moro #48 in the present contrada of Civetta, Terzo di Camollia of the city of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. The palace stands mostly facing the church of San Cristoforo, with a large Palmieri coat of arms on the third floor corner of the facade that fronts the Piazza Tolomei, which stands in front of Palazzo Tolomei.

Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. (Italian pronunciation: [ˈbaŋka ˈmonte dei ˈpaski di ˈsjɛːna]), known as BMPS or just MPS, is an Italian bank. Tracing its history to a mount of piety founded in 1472 (550 years ago) and established in its present form in 1624 (399 years ago), it is the world's oldest or second oldest bank, depending on the definition, and the fifth largest Italian commercial and retail bank.In 1995, the bank (then known as Monte dei Paschi di Siena) was transformed from a statutory corporation to a limited company called Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (Banca MPS). The Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena was created to continue the charitable functions of the bank and to be, until the bailout in 2013, its largest single shareholder. According to research by Mediobanca and a press release issued by Banco BPM, Banco BPM overtook BMPS as the third largest commercial banking group in Italy (in terms of total assets) on 31 December 2016, after Banco BPM's formal formation on 1 January 2017. In 2016–17, BMPS was struggling to avoid a collapse, and it was bailed out again by the Italian government in July 2017. On 5 October 2018, BMPS announced the sale of its Belgian subsidiary, Banca Monte Paschi Belgio (BMPB), to a company participated in by funds managed by Warburg Pincus. The sale price was set at €42 million, subject to an adjustment mechanism. In 2020, BMPS had approximately 1,400 branches, 21,000 employees and 3.9 million customers in Italy, as well as branches and businesses abroad. A subsidiary, MPS Capital Services, handles corporate and investment banking.

The Palazzo Bandini-Piccolomini is a Renaissance style urban palace located on via Sallustio Bandini #32, corner Via San Vigilio in the city of Siena, region of Tuscany. It is across the street from the rear facade of the Castellare degli Ugurghieri. The palace was constructed circa 1460, and the design has been attributed to Cecco di Giorgio. The priest and proto-economist Sallustio Bandini was born in the house. The facade is mainly brick. The portal and window mouldings are made of grey pietra serena and has a Piccolomini shield with 5 crescent moons. The portal also has images of children astride dolphins. The second story windows have triangular pediments. The small interior courtyard has a well. The iron rings on the facade were formerly used to tie up horses. The property is owned by the University of Siena.

Palazzo Salimbeni is a Gothic style urban palace located on the Piazza Salimbeni, just off Via Banchi di Sopra in the Terzo di Camollia of the city of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. The building, associated with an ancient mercantile family of Siena, currently houses the main offices of the Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, the oldest bank in the world.
