Beech Hall School

Tytherington School is an academy in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. The school has experienced a surge in popularity in the last few years and as of September will have approximately 1,300 pupils, with ages ranging from 11–18. Like many schools in Cheshire, it includes a sixth form. Since September 2015, the headteacher has been Emmanuel Botwe, who was previously deputy headteacher at a school in Oxfordshire. In the summer of 2016, under the new head, the school had record A-Level and GCSE results.

Egerton Hall, Manchester was founded as a Theological College in 1908 to train Anglican clergy to serve in the Church of England.It was located in Oxford Place and closed in 1944.

Tytherington is an area in the north of Macclesfield in Cheshire, England. It comprises a large residential housing estate and has a church, Tytherington Family Worship Church, an academy school, Tytherington School and a golf club. Tytherington Wood forms part of Macclesfield Riverside Park. Tytherington Business Park lies to the north-east. Manchester Road divides the housing estate, the "Dorchester Way area" being to the west and "Rugby Drive area" to the east. Rugby Drive derives its name from Macclesfield Rugby Club, since relocated to Prestbury. The rugby pitch remains but is used predominantly for football. Tytherington has become a relatively affluent residential area, the average house price being around £320,000.

West Park is a public park in Macclesfield, in Cheshire, England, about 0.5 kilometres (0.3 mi) north-west of the town centre. It was opened in 1854, and is listed Grade II in Historic England's Register of Parks and Gardens.

Macclesfield Hibel Road railway station was a railway station serving the town of Macclesfield in Cheshire, England. It was opened as a joint station by the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) and the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) on 13 July 1849, with the opening of the NSR route to Uttoxeter via North Rode and Leek and it replaced an earlier, temporary, LNWR station at Beech Bridge. Built right at the point where the track of the two companies made an end-on junction, the station was managed by a joint committee of the two companies.With the opening of the Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway in 1871, the NSR opened a new station less than 500 yards (457 m) further south called Macclesfield Central. It had been hoped that the new line could run into Hibel Road, but the LNWR objected to this and neither would the LNWR agree to share Central station.Both stations remained open until 1960, when the decision was taken by British Rail to concentrate services on a redeveloped Central station. The refurbished Central station, now renamed simply Macclesfield, opened on 7 November 1960; the same day that Hibel Road closed. The site of Hibel Road station has now been redeveloped.

The hundred of Macclesfield was an ancient division of the historic county of Cheshire, in northern England. It was known to have been in existence at least as early as 1242, and it was formed to a great extent from the earlier Domesday hundred of Hamestan.When the Hundred of Hameston was formed, the village which was later named Macclesfield was the principal settlement in East Cheshire. It became the location of administration for the Hundred of Hameston, and the Hundred Court was held there. It is not known when or why the village and Hundred became known as Macclesfield.In 1361 Edward, the Black Prince was lord of the hundred, manor and borough of Macclesfield.

Macclesfield Cemetery, is a Victorian cemetery located on Prestbury Road, Macclesfield, Cheshire. It was opened on 17 May 1866 and consists of 68 acres (28 ha) of land including gardens of remembrance, cemetery walks take place three times a year. The site contains three chapels, terrace walks overlooking a stream and examples of monumental stone masonry. Macclesfield Crematorium is located within the grounds, the cemetery lodge is on Prestbury Road.

Macclesfield railway station was a short lived railway station serving the town of Macclesfield in Cheshire, England. It was opened in 1869 by the Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple Railway (MB&M) - a joint line constructed and operated by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (MS&L) and North Staffordshire Railways (NSR) - and closed in 1873. The MB&M was built with the intention of connecting to the main London and North Western Railway (LNWR) / NSR line between Manchester and Stoke however there were numerous difficulties to be overcome; the route through town, the reluctance of the local authority to allow the railway to bridge over the River Bollin and the lack of co-operation from the LNWR to agree to a site for a station on the Manchester - Stoke line. The board of the MB&M therefore decided to open a temporary station on land they already owned to allow services to commence. The station, known simply as Macclesfield, opened on 2 August 1869 and was the southern terminus of the line. From there passengers made a short walk to the joint LNWR/NSR station at Macclesfield Hibel Road to catch services to and from the south. Four years elapsed before a route for the line through the town was constructed and a new joint NSR/MS&L station at Macclesfield Central built. The new Central station opened on 1 July 1873 and the old station closed the same day. Following closure the old station buildings were used as stables for the horses working in the MB&M goods yard until the buildings were demolished in 1947. In 1919 they had seen temporary use, once again, as a passenger station when rebuilding work of the section of line to Central station was undertaken.

St Alban's Church in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England, is a Roman Catholic parish church. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It was designed by A. W. N. Pugin and is described as a "church of exceptional interest among the works of this major architect".

Tytherington Old Hall is a former country house in the Tytherington area of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It was built in the late 16th century for the Worth family. The building was much altered during the 20th century, and as of 2010 was in use as an office. Since 2006, it has been renovated and converted to a family home. The house is constructed in timber framing on a stone plinth with stone-flagged roofs. The timber-framing includes close studding and herringbone decoration. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
