St. Hanshaugen Park

St. Hanshaugen (Norwegian for St. John's Hill) is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway.

The Oslo Synagogue (Norwegian: Synagogen i Oslo) is a synagogue in Oslo, Norway. The congregation was established in 1892, but the present building was erected in 1920. Architectural historian Carol Herselle Krinsky describes the two-story tall, stuccoed building with a round tower topped with a spire supporting a Star of David as resembling "a simple and charming country chapel.'King Harald V and Crown Prince Haakon visited the synagogue in June, 2009.

Saint Mark's Church (Norwegian: Markus kirke) is a church in the St. Hanshaugen district of Oslo, Norway, completed in 1927. The church has entrances from Schwensen Street (Norwegian: Schwensens gate) no. 15 and on Ullevål Street (Norwegian: Ullevålsveien) no. 41.

Schola Osloensis, known in Norwegian as Oslo Katedralskole (Oslo Cathedral School) and more commonly as "Katta", is a selective upper secondary school located in Oslo, Norway. The school offers the college preparatory Studiespesialisering (literal translation: specialization for studies) of the Norwegian school system. Oslo Cathedral School is one of four schools in Norway that can trace its origins directly to the Middle Ages. It is generally regarded as one of Norway's most prestigious schools, which celebrated its 850th anniversary in 2003.The school's motto is the Latin phrase Non scholae, sed vitae discimus which translates to "We do not learn for the sake of the school, but for the sake of life".

Bolteløkka is a neighbourhood in the borough St. Hanshaugen in Oslo, Norway. The neighbourhood is named after proprietor David Bolt. The Bolteløkka primary school was finished in 1898.

Bolteløkka Skole (School) is an elementary school offering primary education from grades one through seven, located in Bolteløkka, Oslo. The campus was designed in Neo-Gothic style with Romanesque influence by state architect Holm Munthe, and opened in October 1898.

Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (Norwegian: Norges veterinærhøgskole) or NVH was a public university located at Adamstuen in Oslo, that educated veterinarians and veterinary nurses as well as research within aquatic medicine, food safety, comparative medicine and mammalian diseases, health and welfare. The institution had about 450 employees and 500 students. Parts of the research were conducted in Tromsø and Sandnes. On 6 January 2014 the school joined with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås, and by 2020 it will be completely relocated to the same location.

The Cemetery of Our Saviour (Norwegian: Vår Frelsers gravlund) is a cemetery in Oslo, Norway, located north of Hammersborg in Gamle Aker district. It is located adjacent to the older Old Aker Cemetery and was created in 1808 as a result of the great famine and cholera epidemic of the Napoleonic Wars. Its grounds were extended in 1911. The cemetery has been full and thus closed for new graves since 1952, with interment only being allowed in existing family graves. The cemetery includes five sections, including Æreslunden, Norway's main honorary burial ground, and the western, southern, eastern and northern sections. The Cemetery of Our Saviour became the preferred cemetery of bourgeois and other upper-class families. It has many grand tombstones and is the most famous cemetery in Norway.

Oslo New University College (Norwegian: Oslo Nye Høyskole) is a private, regional college offering courses at bachelor and masters level in health sciences, psychology, economics, digital marketing and humanities. Based in St. Hanshaugen in Oslo, Norway, the college has an enrollment of 2,800 students, including those studying via the Internet. Programs offered is psychology, medical foundation, peace and conflict studies, economics and marketing, as well as bachelor programs in nutrition, and peace and conflict studies. Bi-national programs offer up to one year of studies in Oslo, with the rest at foreign universities. Programs consist of medicine, physiotherapy, chiropractic studies and peace and conflict studies.

Old Aker Church (Norwegian: Gamle Aker kirke) is a medieval era church located in Oslo, Norway. An active parish, the church is the oldest existing building in Oslo. The church is surrounded by Old Aker Cemetery.

Lovisenberg Church (Norwegian: Lovisenberg kirke) is a church in the neighborhood of Lovisenberg in the district of St. Hanshaugen in Oslo, Norway. The church is a basilica in Romanesque Revival style. The building is made of red brick and has a gable roof covered with slate. The bell tower is located to the side of the ridge and baptismal sacristy is to the right of the main entrance.The church is adorned with stained glass by Maria Vigeland in the choir showing the birth of Jesus, the Crucifixion and the Angel in the empty tomb. She has also created pieces of stained glass in side windows. On the altar is a cross from Oberammergau. The pulpit, the altar rail, the benches and other fixtures are made of spruce of the local carpenter master, A. Berger. The baptismal font is in blue white marble from Velfjord, Nordland. The church got a new organ in 1995. The two church bells are created by Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry.Lovisenberg Church is listed and protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Pilestredet Park is a neighborhood in the borough St. Hanshaugen in Oslo, Norway, about one kilometer north of the city center. It is named after the street Pilestredet. From 1893, it was the location of Rikshospitalet. The area underwent an urban renewal after 2000, when the hospital moved to Gaustad. The area is mostly residential, with about 2000 residents, and has some of the highest housing prices in the city. Oslo Metropolitan University has a campus by Pilestredet Park. The area is served by the station Høyskolesenteret of the Oslo Tramway.
