Govan High School

Drumoyne (; Scottish Gaelic: Druim Uaine) is now a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated south of the River Clyde and is part of the former Burgh of Govan.It is the birthplace of Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of Manchester United football club from November 1986 to 2013, the most successful manager in English football, in terms of championship-winning seasons. He was born at 357 Shieldhall Road on 31 December 1941, the home of his grandparents, although he grew up at a tenement in nearby Govan. His birthplace still exists today. The suburb of Drummoyne in Sydney, Australia was named after the family home of William Wright, who hailed from the area.

Linthouse is a neighbourhood in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is situated directly south of the River Clyde and lies immediately west of Govan, with other adjacent areas including Shieldhall and the Southern General Hospital to the west, and Drumoyne to the south. Although it is currently located within the Govan ward of Glasgow City Council, it was in fact a distinct area separate from Govan (the boundary being the former Fairfield Shipbuilding Company headquarters and Elder Park) until 1901 when it willfully became part of the Burgh of Govan in turn both areas were annexed to Glasgow in 1912. Linthouse was home to the shipbuilder Alexander Stephen and Sons Limited who built many famous vessels for the Royal Navy in the 20th century. Linthouse was a separate Church of Scotland parish (Linthouse St. Kenneth) until November 2007 when it merged with the neighbouring parishes of Govan Old and New Govan to become part of the new Govan and Linthouse parish. Towards the end of the 19th century, there was a Scottish Football League club in the area, Linthouse F.C., although their ground while members of the league was Govandale Park, close to Govan Old Parish Church in the heart of the larger burgh. The Linthouse Urban Village is an organisation promoting the Linthouse area, as part of the larger Govan Initiative organisation. They run the LUV cafe on Govan Road and a gallery on the other side of the road. Linthouse also runs an annual Christmas market in the "Tunnel Park" which overlooks the Clyde Tunnel.

The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (Glasgow CRF) is a research centre at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Govan, Glasgow, Scotland.

Elder Park is a public park in the Govan area of Glasgow, Scotland, located a short distance south of the River Clyde, to the east of the Linthouse neighbourhood. It contains Elder Park Library, a boating pond, the original Fairfield farmhouse, and Linthouse Mansion portico.

St Cadoc's Youth Club is a Scottish football club based in Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire. They were formed in 1987 by David Jones, janitor at St Cadoc's Primary School and have grown into a large community sports club playing football and netball.The club formed an adult side and successfully applied to join the newly founded West of Scotland Football League for the 2020–21 season. As part of the facility requirements for the league, they entered an agreement to groundshare with fellow West of Scotland League club St Anthony's at McKenna Park in Cardonald, Glasgow. In 2021, the club entered a ground-sharing agreement with Benburb at New Tinto Park in Govan.

Glasgow Girls & Women Football Club, whose first team is branded as Glasgow Women F.C., is a Scottish women's association football club based in the East End of Glasgow. They are members of the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL), the highest level women's football league in Scotland, and compete in its top tier, SWPL 1. They were previously known as Glasgow Girls F.C. at senior level before rebranding in 2020 as Glasgow Women.

Benburb Football Club is a Scottish football club, based in Govan, Glasgow. Formed in 1885, the club is a member of the Scottish Junior Football Association and currently competes in the West of Scotland Football League. Benburb's colours are blue and white. The team have been managed since July 2015 by former Airdrie defender Paul Lovering. Paul succeeded his father Frank who had been in the job for the previous thirteen seasons.

Rossvale Football Club are a Scottish football club originally from the town of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire but now based in North Glasgow who play in the West of Scotland Football League.

Cardonald railway station is located in the Cardonald district of Glasgow, Scotland, also serving parts of the Drumoyne neighbourhood located on the opposite side of the M8 motorway which runs adjacent to the railway. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Inverclyde Line.

Craigton (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Chreig) is a residential suburb in the southwest of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. Located approximately three miles (five kilometres) from the city centre, it is bordered by Bellahouston Park to the south and Halfway to the west, with Cardonald beyond.The area was historically farming land for Govan, which is nearby to the north across the M8 motorway and Inverclyde Line railway tracks. A pedestrian underpass, previously a road on which city trams and buses operated, leads north from Craigton under the motorway onto Craigton Road, which is within the Drumoyne neighbourhood. Historically the Craigton Road area was occupied by Craigton Farm, while the estate of Craigton House was acquired to build the Craigton neighbourhood (developed for housing between the World Wars, as were Drumoyne and other nearby developments like the contrasting Moorepark and Mosspark projects). The area has an eponymous primary school opened in 1910 (once attended by artist George Wyllie), a small industrial estate and a number of shops lining Paisley Road West. Craigton Cemetery is immediately to the west of Craigton and was opened in 1873. The cemetery grounds contain a crematorium, which opened in 1957. To the east is Helen Street police station (a modern replacement for Govan's previous offices in Orkney Street) built on the site of the White City Stadium, used for greyhound racing and motorcycle speedway; Ibrox railway station was slightly further east, also within walking distance of Craigton until its closure in the late 1960s, about the same time as the stadium. The triangular parcel of land between Paisley Road West and Mosspark Boulevard and west of Bellahouston Park has been occupied by housing since the 1920s. It was originally fields belonging to a farm called Wearieston so was occasionally known as such in the years following its construction, but the name has since fallen out of use. Since 2017, Craigton has fallen within the Pollokshields ward under Glasgow City Council, having been in the Govan ward for the decade prior. There was also a ward named Craigton, but the neighbourhood of that name was never part of it, and in 2017 it was re-named to the more accurate title of Cardonald.

The Southern General Hospital (SGH) was a large teaching hospital with an acute operational bed complement of approximately 900 beds. The hospital was located in Linthouse in the south west of Glasgow, Scotland. All facilities and services have been succeeded by the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital which was constructed on the site of the old hospital.

Glasgow City Heliport (ICAO: EGEG) is a heliport located in Glasgow, Scotland. The Heliport is located at Linthouse Road in Govan, close to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The heliport is owned and operated by Babcock Mission Critical Services Onshore Ltd. and is the operating base for the Police Service of Scotland air support unit. This unit is operated by Babcock MCSO under contract. The heliport can also handle an amount of passenger traffic. The ground facilities consist of a maintenance hangar building and parking for 6 small to medium-sized helicopters. Aircraft permanently operating from Glasgow City Heliport are: Police 51 – Police Scotland Air Support Unit – (Eurocopter EC-135). The callsign Sierra-Papa-99 has been retired following the 2013 Glasgow helicopter crash.Historically a Scottish Ambulance Service aircraft (Airbus H145) was based on site, until the contract was in-housed away from Babcock by Gama Aviation and moved to Glasgow Airport. Glasgow City Heliport still provides support to HEMS acting as a refuel site and forward operating base for Scotlands Charity Air Ambulance (Eurocopter EC135) based at Perth Airport.
