The Glenwood B&O Railroad Bridge is a truss bridge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which carries Allegheny Valley Railroad's W&P Subdivision over the Monongahela River. The span was constructed in 1884 and upgraded in 1915. It served the busy Wheeling division of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, which in 1928, operated an average of 19 freight and 12 passenger trains across the structure each day. After B&O was absorbed into CSX Transportation, this company ran local freight trains across the bridge; the short line Allegheny Valley Railroad has a long-term lease to manage this structure, which serves a route between its headquarters in an adjacent rail yard and Washington, Pennsylvania.[1]

The Glenwood Bridge is a cantilever bridge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which carries Pennsylvania Route 885 over the Monongahela River. It started construction on June 3, 1958 and was completed in 1966 to replace an old decayed unsafe iron bridge built in 1894 which carried Pittsburgh Railways streetcar tracks and vehicle traffic on a wooden deck.

Hays Army Ammunition Plant was an 7.9-acre (3.2 ha), 1,650-employee foundry established in 1942 in the Hays neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At first it produced 16-inch (410 mm) shells and 5-inch (130 mm) breechblocks for the Navy. Though owned by the Army, the plant was operated by the Mesta Machine Company on behalf of the United States Navy during World War II. The plant was operated by the Mullins Manufacturing Company during the Korean War and by the Levinson Steel Company during the Vietnam War. For the Army it produced 105 mm shells, 250,000 of these per month throughout 1968. It was the only Army plant with cold extrusion capability. Manufacturing ceased in May 1970 and the plant was mothballed in June 1971. The 1982 value of the complex was $69 million. The plant was placed on standby in 1991 and donated for redevelopment in 1993. It is now used as an industrial site.

Sandcastle Waterpark is a water park located in the Pittsburgh suburb of West Homestead. The park is located on a 67-acre (270,000 m2) piece of land along the banks of the Monongahela River. Sandcastle is owned by Palace Entertainment, subsidiary of Spain-based Parques Reunidos, who purchased original parent company Kennywood Entertainment. The company runs its original sister parks, Kennywood, Idlewild Park, and Lake Compounce. The park contains fourteen water slides, several swimming pools, and a handful of other attractions.

Three Rivers Village School is the first democratic school in Pittsburgh, PA. It operates on the Sudbury school model of democratic education. Three Rivers Village School opened in the Fall of 2013 and accepts students from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. It is a tuition-based private school that offers a sliding scale tuition rate. As of Fall 2014, it enrolls around 25 students. Three Rivers Village School emphasizes personal responsibility, innate thoughtfulness and trust in the judgement of its students and strives to foster a community of equals governed by democratic values, instead of the hierarchy, standardized testing, and arbitrary rule following enforced in the traditional schooling model.

WRRK (96.9 FM, "96.9 BOB-FM") is a variety hits radio station licensed to Braddock, Pennsylvania, serving Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and owned by Saul Frischling, through licensee WPNT Media Subsidiary, LLC. Its studios are located at 5000 McKnight Road (Suite 401) in Pittsburgh's North Hills, and the transmitter tower is in the city's Hazelwood neighborhood.

WYEP-FM (91.3 MHz) is a listener-supported non-commercial radio station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It carries an Adult Album Alternative (AAA) radio format and is run by the Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting Corporation, along with 90.5 WESA. The studios and offices are on Bedford Square. WYEP-FM holds periodic fundraisers to support the station. WYEP-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 18,000 watts. The transmitter is on Longview Street in Pittsburgh.

The Hazelwood Brewing Company is a historic former brewery in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The brewery opened in 1905 with a production capacity of 40,000 barrels per year and distributed its Bohemian, Pilsener, and Famous lagers throughout the region. During Prohibition, the company produced low-alcohol "near-beer," though it was raided several times for allegedly selling actual beer instead. After the end of Prohibition in 1933, the brewery was reorganized as the Hazelwood Beverage Company and then Derby Brewing Company. Derby Brewing went out of business in 1938, after which the brewery buildings were used for various purposes.The main brewery building is constructed from brick and has three sections which consist of one, one, and four bays, respectively. The middle section has four stories plus a mezzanine, while the other two sections have three stories and a mezzanine. The southern section originally had a fourth story as well but it was destroyed by a tornado in 1998. When built, the brewery also included an ice house, bottling building, and office. Part of the ice house is still standing but the other buildings were demolished.

Gladstone School is a historic public school in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It operated between 1914 and 2001, serving at various times as an elementary school, a junior high or middle school, and a high school. The school's mascot was the Gladiators. Pittsburgh Public Schools sold the vacant property to a community group in 2016. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021. The school consists of two buildings, both in the Collegiate Gothic style. The main building was designed by O. M. Topp and was built in two phases, which were completed in 1914 and 1923, respectively. The annex building was added in 1926 along with a pedestrian bridge to join the two buildings.

West Homestead is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, 8 miles (13 km) southeast of Pittsburgh, on the Monongahela River. Heavy industries associated with nearby steel mills existed here. Established were axle works, brickworks, and manufactories of machinery, car wheels, etc. The largest concern was Mesta Machinery which was one of the world's leading industrial manufacturers from 1898 until 1983. The population was 1,929 at the 2010 census.

The Hazelwood Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh located at 4748 Monongahela Street in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1899. It was added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations on July 28, 2004.The Hazelwood Branch Carnegie Library left this location in mid 2004 and was reopened in a recently constructed building on Second Avenue. In 2009 and again in 2011, the branch was threatened with closure due to funding shortfalls within the Carnegie Library system.The Branch re-opened in a third location in a renovated church on Second Avenue in June 2014 after a $2.4 million restoration doubling its original 3,500 square feet space to 7,000 square feet. The Monongahela Street structure remains vacant.

Calvary Catholic Cemetery is located at 718 Hazelwood Avenue in the Greenfield and Hazelwood neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. It was founded in 1886 with the purchase of a 200-acre (80-hectare) tract. The first official interment occurred in 1888, though there are graves with earlier dates. As of 2008, 152,238 entombments have been recorded at Calvary Cemetery. It remains the largest of the cemeteries in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.
