The murder of Julie Pacey (1955/1956 – 26 September 1994) was a mysterious, and still unsolved, murder of a mother in her own home in Grantham, England on Monday 26 September 1994. 38-year-old 'vivacious mum' Pacey was found strangled to death with a cord in her first-floor bathroom by her 14-year-old daughter on her return home from school. A mysterious figure who became known as the 'Overalls Man', and who remains the prime suspect, was seen by numerous witnesses in the vicinity of Pacey's home in the days around the murder, and this red-faced man had suspiciously turned up at Pacey's home when she was alone three days previously, supposedly asking for directions. Although she had been sexually assaulted, investigators still do not know why she was apparently targeted in what appeared to be a pre-planned attack. The case has twice featured on Crimewatch, on which Pacey's murder was described as a "truly dreadful case". As well as the mystery surrounding 'Overalls Man', the case is notable for a number of 'bizarre' matters associated with it. Even though Pacey's family car was an Audi, she was witnessed by multiple people in an unknown BMW in the days leading up to the murder, despite her family being adamant she would not have had access to one. A BMW was also reported to have been seen parked on her driveway on occasions, including on the day of the murder, and a BMW was also seen speeding away from the scene after the killing. These sightings of cars have never been explained. In another 'bizarre twist' that was reported on nationally, the (innocent) actor who played the role of the killer in the Crimewatch reconstruction was sensationally investigated as a suspect in September 2015 after the 1994 appeal was re-shown, with some viewers who had watched the appeal mistakenly calling in to state that they recognised him as the killer. Publicity on the case had returned in 2015 after it was revealed that a full DNA profile of the killer had been identified in what was described as a "landmark forensic breakthrough", although with the killer's DNA not matching any on the UK National DNA Database, police continue to appeal to the public to come forward to provide a name that can be investigated to be eliminated. Pacey's murder has been described as one of the region's "most mysterious crimes".

Grantham () is a market town in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, situated on the banks of the River Witham and bounded to the west by the A1 road. It lies some 23 miles (37 km) south of Lincoln and 22 miles (35 km) east of Nottingham. The population in 2016 was put at 44,580. The town is the largest settlement and the administrative centre of South Kesteven District. Grantham was the birthplace of the UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Isaac Newton was educated at the King's School. The town was the workplace of the UK's first warranted female police officer, Edith Smith in 1914. The UK's first running diesel engine was made there in 1892 and the first tractor in 1896. Thomas Paine worked there as an excise officer in the 1760s. The villages of Manthorpe, Great Gonerby, Barrowby, Londonthorpe and Harlaxton form outlying suburbs of the town.

Belton and Manthorpe is a civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, consisting of Belton and Manthorpe, just north of Grantham. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 517 in 192 households. By 2011 the authorities recorded 528 people in 216 homes.The parish lies on either side of the River Witham, flowing northwards from Grantham to Lincoln, and is similarly bisected by the A607 road which follows the River closely through the parish. In 1852 the Great Northern Railway constructed its line between Grantham and Newark, which passes through the extreme west of the parish. This now forms part of the main East Coast Main Line from London to Edinburgh. The Eastern part of the parish encloses the village of Belton, the park of Belton House, and that part of Barkston Heath not taken up by RAF Barkston Heath. The extreme eastern boundary is the former Roman road known as High Dyke, part of Ermine Street. On the West of the river Welland is the large Golf Course known as Belton Woods. In the extreme south is the village of Manthorpe, not to be confused with Grantham's Manthorpe Estate, adjacent to the southern boundary. Both the villages were essentially agricultural estate villages constructed and maintained by the Brownlow family, until the 1950s.

Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School (KGGS) is a grammar school with academy status for girls in Grantham, Lincolnshire, established in 1910. It has over 1000 pupils ranging from ages 11 to 18, and has its own sixth form.

The King's School is an 11–18 boys grammar school with academy status, in the market town of Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. The school's history can be traced to 1329, and was re-endowed by Richard Foxe in 1528. Located on Brook Street, the school's site has expanded over the course of its history, with some school buildings dating back to 1497. Today, King's remains an all-boys grammar school, with just over 1,000 pupils. King's and another Grantham grammar school, Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School, share teaching resources for sixth form study in certain subjects; since 2006–2007, timetables for this study have been co-ordinated between both schools.

Grantham House is a town house, built in 1380, which is owned by the National Trust. It is in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.The House is in Castlegate and its architectural features have been enhanced and remodelled several times over the centuries and include a 16th-century chimney stack, 17th century windows and an 18th-century staircase. The House and the Stables are both Grade I listed buildings and the Wall and Doorway for the riverside garden is Grade II* listed. It was known as 'Hall House' in the 16th century after the Hall family who owned it and important guests during this period include Cardinal Wolsey and Margaret Tudor, Queen of Scots.The house is a tenanted property and is not open to visitors.

St Wulfram's Church, Grantham, is the Anglican parish church of Grantham in Lincolnshire, England. The church is a Grade I listed building and has the second tallest spire in Lincolnshire after Louth's parish church.In his book England's Thousand Best Churches, Simon Jenkins begins his description of St Wulfram's: "Here is the finest steeple in England", and in 2020 an online contest run by poet Jay Hulme named it as the finest non-cathedral English church.The spire is the sixth highest in the country (Salisbury, Norwich and Old Coventry Cathedrals' are higher), and third highest of any parish church, after the Church of St Walburge, Preston, and St James' Church, Louth. It is the second highest of any Anglican parish church in the UK, after St James', and second highest in Lincolnshire, after St James'.In 2013 an appeal was launched to save the spire.

The Francis Trigge Chained Library is a chained library in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England which was founded in 1598. Located in the parvise, over the south porch of St Wulfram's Church, it has been claimed to be the first English public library.
