Münchenstein Castle

The Trotte (formerly known as the Zehntentrotte) lies in the village centre of Münchenstein, in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland. The German word Trotte means wine press.

Münchenstein railway station (German: Bahnhof Münchenstein) is a railway station in the municipality of Münchenstein, in the Swiss canton of Basel-Landschaft. It is an intermediate stop on the Basel–Biel/Bienne line and is served by local trains only.

The Elektrizitätsmuseum (Museum of Electricity) is in Münchenstein, in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland.The Elektrizitätsmuseum belongs to the electric utility Elektra Birseck Münchenstein (EBM), and was opened in 1997. Exhibits explore the history and development of power production and its use. The collection contains rare historic equipment and is complemented by a laboratory in which visitors can experiment with electric power.

The Münchenstein rail disaster on 14 June 1891 was historically the worst railway accident ever to affect Switzerland. A crowded passenger train fell through a girder bridge, killing more than seventy people and injuring many others. The accident occurred on the railway line between Basel and Delémont, near the Bruckgut just below the village centre of Münchenstein, as the train was traversing the bridge across the river Birs.

The 2012 Women's Masters Basel were held from October 12 to 14 at the Curlingzentrum Region Basel in Basel, Switzerland as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. The event was held in a triple knockout format, and the purse for the event was 32,000 CHF, of which the winner, Margaretha Sigfridsson, received 10,000 CHF. Sigfridsson won her second straight Women's Masters Basel title with a 6–3 win over Silvana Tirinzoni in the final.

Reichenstein Castle (German: Burg Reichenstein) is a castle in the municipality of Arlesheim in the canton of Basel-Land in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.It is one of four castles on a slope called Birseck that confines the plain of the Birs river and is the sister castle to Birseck Castle. 1245-1813 the castle was a property of the Swiss noble family Reich von Reichenstein. This family hold also the Château de Landskron (France) and Inzlingen Castle (Germany).

The Frog Museum is in Newmünchenstein, a sub-district of Münchenstein, in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland. It is dedicated to frogs.
