Lakeland Christian School

The Central Avenue School (also known as the Central Avenue Elementary School) is a historic school in Lakeland, Florida, United States. It is located at 604 South Central Avenue. The school was designed by Albert Poteet and built in 1926. On July 22, 1999, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. This building currently houses the West Area Adult School.

The Lake Hunter Terrace Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on December 20, 2002) located in Lakeland, Florida. The district is bounded by roughly Central Avenue, Greenwood Street, Ruby Street, and Sikes Boulevard. It contains 163 historic buildings.

The Dixieland Historic District is a United States historic district (designated as such on December 23, 1994) located in Lakeland, Florida. The district is bounded by Walnut Street, Florida Avenue, Lake Hunter, Hartsell Avenue and Belvedere Street. It contains 556 historic buildings. The Dixieland Historic District in Lakeland, Florida was originally an area of 160 acres that was developed by Henry B. Carter and C. W. Deen in 1907. It was developed south of the downtown area. By 1910 a water system was installed. Local newspapers promoted the area as a "fashionable suburb". There was a housing boom in the 1920s and the 1940s. Dixieland was accorded historic district status by the Lakeland City Commission in 1993. Lakeland issued regulations to preserve the heritage of Dixieland in the 1990s. Restoration efforts continue.

The Beacon Hill-Alta Vista Residential District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on March 4, 1993) located in Lakeland, Florida. The district is bounded by South Florida Avenue, West Beacon Road, West Belvedere Street and Cherokee Trail. It contains 77 historic buildings.

The RP Funding Center (formerly the Lakeland Civic Center and the Lakeland Center) is a multipurpose entertainment complex in Lakeland, Florida, comprising a convention center, arena and theater. Formerly, it was the home of the Lakeland Magic, the Orlando Magic's affiliate in the NBA G League and the Florida Tropics SC of the Major Arena Soccer League.

The South Lake Morton Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on November 20, 1985) located in Lakeland, Florida. It received its designation because it provides an outstanding example of urban planning from the early 20th century, and because of the large number of architecturally significant structures ranging from 1920- 1948. It contains 557 historic buildings. Most of the homes are bungalows from the Arts and Crafts period of the 1920s and 30s. There are also examples of Victorian, Queen Anne, and Spanish Revival homes. The district is bounded by Lake Morton Drive and Palmetto Street, Ingraham Avenue, Johnson Avenue, Frank Lloyd Wright Way (formerly McDonald Street,) Belmar Street, and Tennessee Avenue.

The Cleveland Court School (also known as the Cleveland Court Elementary) is a historic school in Lakeland, Florida. It is located at 328 East Edgewood Drive. On July 22, 1999, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Oates Building (former home of the Oates-Corley Furniture Company) is a historic site in Lakeland, Florida. It was designed by architect Edward Columbus Hosford in the Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles. The Oates Building is located at 230 South Florida Avenue. On July 28, 1995, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Lake Morton is a lake in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida, in the United States. The lake is named for John P. Morton, who owned land near the lake.

The Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center is a posthumous addition to Frank Lloyd Wright's Child of the Sun collection at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Wright oversaw the construction of twelve buildings on Florida Southern's campus between 1938 and 1958. He also designed a Usonian house in 1939 meant to be used for faculty housing. Wright produced plans for 14 of the homes to be built on the college campus, but the plan was never carried through. In 2013, the College completed construction of the design as the featured structure in the Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center.The 1,700 sq. ft. Usonian house features textile-block construction and colored glass inserts in perforated concrete blocks, both signature elements of Wright’s building designs at Florida Southern, as well as furnishings designed by Wright. The two-bedroom house was similar in design to Herbert and Katherine Jacobs First House, the first of Wright’s Usonian houses.The Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center offers a variety of self-guided, docent-led, and group tours of the Wright campus. The Center provides a home for the permanent display of photographs, furniture, and drawings depicting Wright’s relationship with the College. A documentary film about the Wright’s work at Florida Southern is also available for visitors to view while touring the Usonian house. The Center also acts as a home for visiting exhibits on loan from various other Wright sites. The Child of the Sun collection is the largest single-site collection of Wright’s work in the world and a National Historic Landmark (2012).

The Polk Theatre in Lakeland, Florida is a historic theater located at 121 South Florida Avenue. The 1,400-seat theatre was built in 1928 after the local business "boom" of the town had ended and despite the fact that the population was only 15,000 inhabitants. In 1982, a group of concerned people banded together to save the theatre from being razed due to low attendance. Local citizens formed a non-profit group, borrowed money, secured a grant from the state, and purchased the theatre for $300,000. The theatre has a mezzanine, a high balcony, a permanent backdrop of a "Venetian piazza," an orchestra pit, a ceiling against which images of twinkling stars are projected, and terrazzo flooring. The air-conditioning system, which was the first in the county, was a pump that used artesian well water to chill the building.Under the name Polk Theatre and Office Building, the building was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Child of the Sun is a collection of buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright on the campus of the Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. The twelve original buildings were constructed between 1941 and 1958. Another of Wright's designs, a Usonian house originally intended for faculty housing, was completed in 2013, and is now part of the Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center. On March 2, 2012, it was designated a National Historic Landmark. The buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and together form the largest collection of buildings by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
