United Health Services (UHS) (United Health Services Hospitals, Inc.) is the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier. A locally owned, not-for-profit system, it is governed by a volunteer board of directors composed of residents from around the region. Founded in Greater Binghamton in 1981, UHS was formed through the consolidation of three highly respected community hospitals. Over the years it has grown to encompass four hospitals, long-term care and home care services, walk-in centers and affiliated physician practices in Broome and surrounding counties. The organization operates primary care centers throughout Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Tioga, Otsego, and Sullivan counties, plus school-based health centers that offer primary and preventive care to students in the region. UHS cares for two-thirds of the population of the Southern Tier region and produces $1.3 billion a year in total non-profit economic impact. With a 6,300-member work force across 60 locations, UHS is one of the region's largest employers. UHS is the regional referral center for a number of life-saving and life-enhancing medical, surgical and rehabilitative specialties, including: trauma and emergency care, heart and vascular surgery, cardiac care, neurosurgery and neurosciences, cancer care, orthopedics, behavioral health services, high-risk obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, and physical rehabilitation. A teaching hospital, UHS Wilson Medical Center is home to a long-standing medical residency program, training tomorrow's practicing doctors. The program is an affiliate of the Clinical Campus at Binghamton of SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The Chenango River is a 90-mile-long (140 km) tributary of the Susquehanna River in central New York in the United States. It drains a dissected plateau area in upstate New York at the northern end of the Susquehanna watershed. Named after the Oneida word for bull thistle, in the 19th century the Chenango furnished a critical link in the canal system of the northeastern United States. The Chenango Canal, built from 1836–1837 between Utica and Binghamton, connected the Erie Canal in the north to the Susquehanna River. The canal was rendered obsolete by railroads and was abandoned in 1878. Flooding is often a concern during the spring and fall.

South Washington Street Parabolic Bridge is a historic Lenticular truss bridge located at Binghamton in Broome County, New York. It was constructed in 1886 and spans the Susquehanna River. It is composed of three identical through trusses with an overall length of 484 feet. The bridge was closed to vehicular traffic in 1969. It is the longest multiple span, Lenticular truss bridge constructed in New York State during the 19th century. It was constructed by the Berlin Iron Bridge Company of East Berlin, Connecticut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The bridge was rehabilitated between 2014 and 2017.

Robert H. Rose House, also known as Rose Mansion, was a historic home located at Binghamton in Broome County, New York, United States. It was demolished in 1980.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Jonas M. Kilmer House, also known as the Kilmer Mansion, is a historic home located at Binghamton in Broome County, New York. It was constructed in 1898 and is a large 3+1⁄2-story residence using an eclectic Victorian-era vocabulary. It is primarily constructed of stone and features irregular form and massing. The building is characterized by a variety of different sized gables and turrets, all surmounted by a high hipped roof clad in asbestos shingles. Jonas M. Kilmer (1843–1912) was the father of Willis Sharpe Kilmer (1869–1940).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Roberson Museum and Science Center is located in Binghamton, New York. The museum's exhibits focus on art, local history, science, and natural history.

The Roberson Mansion, part of the Roberson Museum and Science Center, is a home in Binghamton, New York. It is an Italian Renaissance style house, designed by Binghamton architect C. Edward Vosbury and built in 1904, and completed in 1907, for Alonzo Roberson Jr. and his wife Margaret Hays Roberson. It was built with all of the then modern conveniences: an elevator, central heat, combination gas and electric lighting, a dumb waiter, an intercom system, and a private bath for each bedroom. The New York City interior design firm, Pottier & Stymus designed the interior decorations. Townsend & Fleming landscape firm from Buffalo was hired to do the grounds. Titchener Iron works designed and manufactured the wrought iron fence surrounding the grounds. Estimated cost for the entire project was $107,500. It is said to be very similar to the McKinnon House in Utica, built in 1899, which Vosbury also designed.The mansion is supposedly haunted by the ghost of its former owner, Alonzo Roberson. His spirit is believed to still roam around and apparitions have been seen in the elevator and along the upper corridors. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Ross Park Carousel is a historic carousel located at Binghamton in Broome County, New York. The carousel is housed in a wooden, one story, 16-sided, pavilion topped by an eight sided cupola. The carousel has 60 horses standing four abreast, each of which is a "jumper," and two chariots. It was constructed by the Allan Herschell Company and contains its original Wurlitzer #146-A Band Organ. The carousel was purchased about 1920 and is one of six carousels donated to the citizens of Broome County by George F. The Islamic Awareness Center, also known as Masjid Al-Tawheed (Arabic: مسجد التوحيد), is a mosque and Dawah institution for the purpose of Islamic proselytization in Binghamton, New York. Since 2011, the Islamic Awareness Center has been located in the historic former building of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. In 2010, after the Good Shepherd congregation left the Episcopal Church as part of the Anglican realignment and lost a lawsuit to keep its property, the Episcopal Diocese of Central New York controversially sold the building for far less than its appraised value to the Islamic Awareness Center rather than to the departing Anglican congregation.

Emmanuel Church of the Evangelical Association of Binghamton, now Our Free Will Baptist Church, is a historic Evangelical church located at Binghamton in Broome County, New York. It was built in 1884 and is a large rectangular, wood-frame building, three bays wide and seven bays deep, on a stone foundation. It is two stories tall on the front elevation and, because of a steep drop off, four stories on the remaining sides. It features a steep gable roof and engaged bell tower. The variegated random ashlar stone siding was added about 1952, when a rear addition was completed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Visions Veterans Memorial Arena (formerly known as the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena and Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena) is a 7,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Binghamton, New York. The arena was completed in 1973, providing an entertainment venue for residents of the Greater Binghamton area. The arena has eight luxury suites that each hold 25 fans (200 total). A longtime home to minor league hockey, the arena is home to the Binghamton Black Bears of the Federal Prospects Hockey League.

Government Plaza is a building complex in Binghamton, New York containing the offices for the City of Binghamton, Broome County and New York State. The complex is located in Downtown Binghamton on the block bounded by State, Hawley, Isbell and Susquehanna streets. It was constructed as part of a massive urban renewal plan in Binghamton through the late 1960s and early 1970s. Government Plaza is composed of three buildings which come together to form a U-shaped complex: the towering 18-story State Office Building, which is the tallest building in the Southern Tier region of New York the Edwin L. Crawford County Office Building, which forms the east-wing of the complex Binghamton City Hall, which forms the west-wing.The complex includes an underground two-level parking structure. An elevated plaza that originally led to the second-story lobby of the State Office Building was torn down in the mid-1990s due to deterioration and increasing maintenance costs.
