Wilhelma

The Rosenstein Park (German: Rosensteinpark) in Stuttgart is the largest English garden in southwest Germany. Its creation took place from 1824 to 1840 on the orders of King William I of Württemberg after plans of his gardener Johann Bosch on the former Kahlenstein area. From 1817 to 1818 King William I had purchased all land on the Kahlenstein from the citizens of Cannstatt. In the middle of the park the Rosenstein Palace was built from 1822 to 1830. The Wilhelma zoo and the State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart are also located in the park. The Löwentor (Lion's Gate) at the upper park entrance was built by Giovanni Salucci. The Rosenstein Tunnel is a railway tunnel beneath the park. Today the park is owned by the State of Baden-Württemberg and preserved as a historical monument. In conjunction with the Schlossgarten, the Leibfried Garden, the Wartberg and the Killesbergpark it forms Stuttgart's „Green U“. Because of the ban on hunting within the park it boasts 98.9 hares per 100 ha, the highest concentration of hares in Germany.

The Rosenstein tunnel (German: Rosensteintunnel) is the name of several past, present and planned tunnels in the Stuttgart metropolitan area, in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Today it is a railway tunnel under Rosenstein Park to Bad Cannstatt. It now connects the Fils Valley Railway (Filstalbahn) from Stuttgart Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) to the Rosenstein Bridge over the Neckar to Bad Cannstatt station.

The Nesenbach is a stream in Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a tributary of the Neckar. It has its source in the city's southwestern district of Vaihingen. After 12.8 kilometres, it discharges into the Neckar in the east of Stuttgart, opposite Bad Cannstatt. Probably due to the protecting effect of its narrow vale, the development of the large city of Stuttgart was possible despite its otherwise disadvantageous topography. From 1575 to 1874, water from the Glems river was deviated through a tunnel to the Nesenbach to ensure water supply in dry seasons.

Castle Berg is a ruined water castle situated around 210 m (690 ft) above Sea level in the Nesenbach valley on the grounds of the Berg mineral spa in the Berg district of Baden-Württemberg's state capitol of Stuttgart, Germany. The castle was built by the Lords von Berg during the 12th century and had already been destroyed in 1287. The foundations were unearthed in 1856 during construction of the spa's spring water bathhouses. The excavated foundations belonged to a residence tower with a square base with a side length of 10.5 m (34.45 ft) and a wall thickness of 3 m (9.84 ft).

The House of Music (Haus der Musik) is a music museum operated by the Landesmuseum Württemberg. It is housed in the Fruchtkasten, located on the Schillerplatz in downtown Stuttgart.

Bad Cannstatt, also called Cannstatt (until July 23, 1933) or Kannstadt (until 1900), is one of the outer stadtbezirke, or city boroughs, of Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Bad Cannstatt is the oldest and most populous of Stuttgart's boroughs, and one of the most historically significant towns in the area of Stuttgart. The town is home to the Cannstatter Wasen and Cannstatter Volksfest beer festivals, the MHPArena (VfB Stuttgart), the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, and the Porsche-Arena.

Wallace Barracks is a former German and U.S. Army installation in the Bad Cannstatt district of Stuttgart, Germany. It is located just below the Burgholzhof, near Robinson Barracks and the former Grenadier Kaserne on the site of a former Roman military camp commonly referred to in literature as Kastell Cannstatt (Citadel Cannstatt).

The State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart (German: Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart), abbreviated SMNS, is one of the two state of Baden-Württemberg's natural history museums. Together with the State Museum of Natural History Karlsruhe (Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde Karlsruhe) it is one of the most important repositories for state-owned natural history collections. Exhibitions are shown in two buildings, both situated in the Rosenstein park in Stuttgart: the Löwentor Museum (German: Museum am Löwentor) houses the paleontology and geology exhibitions. At the same time, the Museum Rosenstein in Rosenstein Palace focuses on biology and natural history. Every year, the SMNS is visited by about 110,000 people.

Bad Cannstatt station is the second largest station of the German city of Stuttgart after Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof and has eight platform tracks. Together with Untertürkheim station, it is the oldest station in Württemberg.

Stuttgart North station (German: Stuttgart Nordbahnhof) is a railway station in Stuttgart, Germany, serving the North area of the city. It consists of a passenger railway station on the Stuttgart S-Bahn and a goods yard.

The Observation Tower Burgholzhof in Burgholzhof, since 1998 a separate community within Bad Cannstatt in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is an 1891 brick observation tower constructed by the Cannstatt municipal architect Friedrich Keppler on behalf of the Verschönerungsverein Cannstatt e. V. ("Society for the Beautification of Cannstatt"), in the style of a Roman tower, at an elevation of 359 meters (1778 ft) above sea level, at 9°11'41 east and 48°49'08" north. It was formally opened on 19 September 1891. It has extensive views over East Stuttgart, Bad Cannstatt and along the Neckar valley as far as Esslingen am Neckar. During World War II the tower was used by anti-aircraft spotter personnel keeping a look-out for Allied bomber attacks. Burgholzhof observation tower was restored in 1987/88, on the initiative of the local amenity group Pro Alt-Cannstatt, and since then has again been accessible during the summer (May - October, 10:00 - 18:00, on weekends only, admission is free). Nearby, to the north of the tower, is a point-to-point radio tower used for military purposes, at 48°49'11 north. The tower, in an anthropomorphic form known as "Burgi", is the mascot of the new community of Burgholzhof- constructed on land returned by the US Army from adjacent Robinson Barracks after closure of the Stuttgart main PX.
