Bidhannagar subdivision

Bidhannagar is a planned urban agglomeration in the Indian state of West Bengal, and a satellite township of Kolkata. It falls in Greater Kolkata region and currently falls under the administration of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation. Keeping with its original name, it is commonly referred to as Salt Lake City, and was planned and developed between 1958 and 1965 to accommodate the burgeoning population of Kolkata.

National Institute of Homeopathy (NIH) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Government of India. It conducts the BHMS, MD (Homeopathy) and PhD (Homeopathy) courses in Homeopathy. The institute has a 250-bed hospital, with 10 for surgery and 10 for maternity cases.

Anandalok Hospital is non-profit multi-specialty hospital located in Sector - II, Block - DK of Salt Lake City, Kolkata, India. The current Managing Director is Aditya Mukherjee. Anandalok Hospital is highly hailed as one of the least expensive hospital with proper facilities.

Our Lady Queen of the Missions School is a higher secondary school in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The school was established on 1 August 1946 by the Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions at 34 Syed Amir Ali Avenue, Kolkata - 700 017 as Secondary school. Higher secondary was added at the Salt Lake campus. The foundation stone of the school at Salt Lake was laid on 9 February 1997 and started functioning in April 2001. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations board.

Central Park situated in Salt Lake is a public urban park. It is also known as Banabitan. It is the second largest open space in Kolkata Metropolitan Area after the Maidan. It is a favorite hangout for lovers. This park is easily reachable from the Karunamoyee Bus Terminus in Salt Lake. Central Park metro station and depot of Kolkata Metro Line 2 are located here. On the roads surrounding the park are the buildings where the West Bengal government has relocated many government departments. The park is built around an expansive water body. There is a bridge which connects on side of the lake to an island which has a pagoda. The lake serves as a haven for water birds like lesser whistling duck, common moorhen, white-breasted waterhen, rufous treepie, cattle egret, cormorants and other species. There are also boating facilities in a cordoned off section of the lake near the rose garden. The park has a very beautiful rose garden (near Gate No.1, opposite of Bikash Bhawan). The rose garden is bordered by rows of hedges surrounding the rose plants. When in bloom, the rose flowers present a delightful sight. The park's butterfly garden has several species of butterflies. The butterfly garden consists of several plots where shrubs and trees on which butterflies and their larvae (caterpillar) feed, have been planted. Dedicated gardeners maintain these areas under the guidance of Nature Mates - Nature Club. The West Bengal Forest Dept. supports this initiative. The butterfly garden can be easily reached after entering the park from Gate No.1 and then taking a right from the main walking track.

Techno India university (TIU) is a private university in Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal, India. The university is known for being one of the first privately owned universities in West Bengal. The students of the university participate in various cultural and technical events across the city. In 2023, during the annual convocation event of the university that saw over 4500 students receive their degrees, NR Narayana Murthy, the chief guest for the convocation conferred a honorary doctorate in literature to acclaimed actress Sushmita Sen.

Nicco Park is an amusement park located in Jheel Meel, Sector - IV of Bidhannagar, West Bengal, India. The park was created to attract tourists to the state by providing family-friendly recreation as well as educative entertainment. Nicco Park opened on 13 October 1991 and has since been referred to as the Disneyland of West Bengal. Presently, the 40 acre park is home to over 35 different attractions and has served over 24 million customers. Nicco Park also provides a "green" environment.

The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies is an autonomous research institute based in Kolkata. It is funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of India. It was founded on 4 January 1993. The foundation stone of the institute was laid where the new building now stands on 12 March 1993. It is devoted to the study of the life and works of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the eminent nationalist leader and India's first education minister, after whom it is named, and to the furtherance of Area Studies, with special reference to South Asia, Central Asia and West Asia, especially dealing with social, cultural, economic, political and administrative developments in Asia from the nineteenth century to the present. M.Phil.- and Ph.D.-level students of the University of Calcutta, Jadavpur University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi are also associated with it.

S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBNCBS) is an autonomous research institute dedicated to basic research in mathematics sciences under the Department of Science and Technology of Government of India. It is located in West Bengal, Salt Lake, Kolkata. This institute was named after the Indian scientist Satyendra Nath Bose and established in 1986. Chanchal Kumar Majumdar was the founder director of this institute.As this is a research institute, mainly Ph.D. program is done here. From 2001 Integrated Ph.D. (M.Sc.+Ph.D.) program was started. After completion of two years of study, a M.Sc. degree is given by University of Calcutta. Formerly, this degree was given by West Bengal University of Technology. Students of this institute can submit their Ph.D. thesis to Jadavpur University, the University of Calcutta, West Bengal University of Technology or any other university which allows students to do so.

National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research Kolkata , (also known as NITTTR Kolkata) is a technical teacher's training institution situated in the Kolkata, West Bengal, India.The institute has established extension centers at Guwahati and Bhubaneswar for reaching out to its clients. The new mandate of the institute has extended its clientele catchment area outside the country encompassing the Technical & Vocational Institutions of particularly SAARC & ASEAN countries.

National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) is an autonomous scientific organization functioning under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India for science communication through its network of science museums or science centres spread across India. It is the largest chain of science centers/museums under a single administrative umbrella in the world. There are 24 own science centers or museums and one R & D laboratory and training centre. The NCSM has been built to co-ordinate all informal science communication activities in the museum space in the country.

Vidyasagar School of Social Work, is a college in Salt Lake, Bidhannagar, Kolkata. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in social work. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University.
