The Jefferson Township Public Schools is a comprehensive community public school district, serving students in kindergarten through twelfth grade from Jefferson Township, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising seven schools, had an enrollment of 2,926 students and 267.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.9:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

Lake Hopatcong is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Jefferson Township, Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It includes communities on the northeast side of Lake Hopatcong, the largest freshwater body in the state. Lakefront communities in the CDP include Espanong, Prospect Point, Raccoon Island, and Woodport, and inland communities include Hurdtown, Tierneys Corner, and Berkshire Valley. The CDP is bordered to the west, across the lake, by the borough of Hopatcong in Sussex County, and to the south it is bordered by Mount Arlington in Roxbury Township and by the Lower Berkshire Valley CDP. Lake Shawnee is in the northeast part of the CDP. New Jersey Route 15 passes through the eastern side of the Lake Hopatcong CDP, leading south 4 miles (6 km) to Interstate 80 in Wharton and north 6 miles (10 km) to Sparta. The community was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

WDNJ is a Spanish language Christian radio station licensed to Hopatcong, New Jersey, broadcasting on 88.1 MHz FM. WDNJ serves Sussex and Morris Counties in New Jersey. WDNJ is also carried on WMBC-TV's digital subchannel 63.8.

Glasser is an area within the Northwood section of the Borough of Hopatcong, in Sussex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. While not officially a municipality, the area was granted its own post office in 1933 by the United States Postal Service that was later assigned ZIP Code 07837. Currently the area contains a small US Post Office, several residential apartments and bungalows, and a restaurant and bar overlooking Lake Hopatcong. Nearby residents get their mail delivered to PO boxes at the Glasser Post Office. Visitors to Glasser may find a variety of different ways it's displayed on current GPS devices. In some cases it may appear as Glasser, Hopatcong, Lake Hopatcong or even Andover. A correspondence with Garmin's support explained that because of Glasser's unusual status "the street addressing is assigned to a surrounding ZIP (in this case Andover, New Jersey 07821).

Raccoon Island is an island on Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey, comprising about 50 acres (20 ha) with mixed private homes and lots. It is part of Jefferson Township, in Morris County, New Jersey. Seasonal (April–October), limited scheduled ferry service provides access to the island by car or light truck. With this limited accessibility, few people live year-round on the island, but during the summer months many families from the surrounding area temporarily "relocate" and commute to their work from there. The homes range from small cottages that were built from the 1880s onwards to more contemporary and remodeled homes with sizable lots. There is no public land on the island. In the late 19th century, paddle-wheel boats used to provide transportation links from mainland railway stations to resort hotels and campsites on the island. It was a summer tourist destination for New York City residents (45 miles (72 km) east) before expanded auto and boat transportation made more exotic travel feasible.

Lake Hopatcong is the largest freshwater body in New Jersey, United States, about 4 square miles (10 km2) in area. Located 30 miles (48 km) from the Delaware River and 40 miles (64 km) from Manhattan, New York City, the lake forms part of the border between Sussex and Morris counties in the state's northern highlands region. Lake Hopatcong was produced by damming and flooding of two ponds, known as the Great Pond and Little Pond, and the Musconetcong River, its natural outlet. Historically known as a resort lake for vacationing New Yorkers, it is now a mostly suburban residential lake.

From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.For ninth through twelfth grades, students attend Roxbury High School in Roxbury, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Roxbury School District. As of the 2018–19 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,297 students and 125.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.3:1.

The Lotta Crabtree Cottage (1885-86) is a Shingle style house in the Breslin Park neighborhood of Mount Arlington, New Jersey. Designed by the noted Philadelphia architect Frank Furness, it is a contributing property in Mount Arlington Historic District.Lotta Crabtree (1847–1924) was an American actress and comedian, best known for her Western roles.: 260  Furness designed the Breslin Hotel (1886, burned 1948) – a 175-room resort hotel built on a hill overlooking Lake Hopatcong – along with a number of summer cottages surrounding it.: 258  A popular celebrity, Crabtree "was given this house as part of promotion for the Breslin Hotel.": 260  She named it "Attol Tryst" ("Lotta" spelled backward), and summered there for 20 years.The 18-room cottage sits on land that slopes down to Van Every Cove. It is 2-1/2 stories on the land side and 3-1/2 on the lake side. The exterior features Furness's "upside-down" chimneys, with corbels that flare outward near the top. An expansive porch/piazza, including a semi-circular section that traces the curve of the parlor, wraps around three sides of the house.: 260  The interior features Aesthetic Movement details characteristic of Furness, including a fireplace flanked by terra cotta dog-faced beasts.: 261  The billiard room's massive stone fireplace once featured a mosaic that spelled out "18 - LOTTA - 86" in gemstones.

Jefferson Township is the northernmost township in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 20,538, a decrease of 776 (−3.6%) from the 2010 census count of 21,314, which in turn reflected an increase of 1,597 (+8.1%) from the 19,717 counted in the 2000 census.Jefferson Township was formed as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 11, 1804, from portions of Pequannock Township and Roxbury. The township was named after Thomas Jefferson, the President of the United States at the time the Township was created. The township is situated in the northernmost part of Morris County bordering both Passaic and Sussex counties.

Mount Arlington is a borough in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 5,909, an increase of 859 (+17.0%) from the 2010 census count of 5,050, which in turn reflected an increase of 387 (+8.3%) from the 4,663 counted in the 2000 census.The borough is located on the southeast shore of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey's largest lake and a major recreational resource. Mount Arlington is home to the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club.

Bertrand Island, New Jersey, is a small peninsula in Lake Hopatcong, part of the community of Mount Arlington. It is best known as the former site of the Bertrand Island Amusement Park which existed from prior to World War I as a picnic ground to 1983, as well as being the place of origin for Bette Cooper, Miss America 1937. In 1925, Bertland Island gained popularity as it offered 20 rides, including a rollercoaster and boardwalk games. As the Great Depression hit, Lake Hopatcong's main tourism industry also took a hit. In addition, the creation of electric refrigeration, which was the lake's second-largest industry, also collapsed in 1938. It marked the end of the hotel period. It is shaped somewhat like a spoon. On the "handle" part there are many upper-class condominiums, built in 2001. Where it gets wide and rounds out is a normal residential area. There is a boating club at the tip of the peninsula. Lake Hopatcong is rather visible from nearly everywhere on Bertrand Island. Scenes from Woody Allen's 1985 film The Purple Rose of Cairo were filmed on the site. A number of the scenes featuring Tom and Cecilia are set at the Amusement Park, which closed just prior to the film's production. Lake Hopatcong is easily seen in the background.
