Seal Sands Power Station

Thor Cogeneration is a planned, but undeveloped, gas-fired cogeneration plant, which was to be built on Seal Sands near Billingham, in County Durham, North East England.

The County Borough of Teesside was a short lived county borough and civil parish in the North Riding of Yorkshire (Northern England) geographical county, around the Teesside agglomeration. It was a 1968 merger of 7 council areas into a single district in. It was the third union of its type and the last to take place until the 1974 reform which replaced it with the wider county of Cleveland. The borough was governed separately of the North Riding County Council, including areas north of the Tees which were previously in the county of Durham and are currently in County Durham.Until the 18th century Stockton-on-Tees was the only town in what would become the county borough, it had a population of 21,070 in 1851. Middlesbrough, with a population of 3,397 in 1851, became the second town in 1853 and became the larger settlement increasing to 81,711 in 1891 while Stockton had 80,665. Thornaby in 1892 and Redcar in 1922 followed in town status with urban districts (townships) of Billingham, Eston and Saltburn-and-Marske also formed in this time.

Teesside () is a built-up area around the River Tees in North East England, split between County Durham and North Yorkshire. The area contains the towns of Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham, Redcar, Thornaby-on-Tees, and Ingleby Barwick. Teesside's economy was once dominated by heavy manufacturing until deindustrialisation in the latter half of the 20th century. Chemical production continues to contribute significantly to Teesside's economy.

SSSIs are designated by Natural England, formally English Nature, which uses the 1974–1996 county system. This means there is no grouping of SSSIs by Stockton-on-Tees unitary authority, or County Durham which is the relevant ceremonial county . As such Cowpen Marsh is one of 18 SSSIs in the Cleveland area of search.

Situated in the mouth of the River Tees next to Greatham Creek and Seaton-on-Tees Channel, the site is accessible from the A178 road running between Seaton Carew and Port Clarence. SSSIs are designated by Natural England, formerly English Nature, which uses the 1974–1996 county system. This means there is no grouping of SSSIs by Stockton-on-Tees unitary authority, or County Durham which is the relevant ceremonial county. As such Seal Sands is one of 18 SSSIs in the Cleveland area of search.An area of reclaimed land is given over to chemical industries.

Cargo Fleet railway station served the Cargo Fleet area of Middlesbrough, North East England from 1885 to 1990 as a stop on the Tees Valley line.

The Teesside Refinery was an oil refinery and chemical plant situated just south of Seaton Carew on the River Tees in County Durham. In 2000, it was bought by Petroplus from ICI and Phillips Petroleum Company. Refining was suspended in 2009, although the site continues to operate as a terminal and storage facility.

The Riverside Stadium is a football stadium in Middlesbrough, England, which has been the home of Middlesbrough since opening in 1995. Its current capacity is 34,742, all seated, although provisional planning permission is in place to expand to 42,000 if required.Middlesbrough Women were affiliated into Middlesbrough in May 2023 and will now play selected matches at the Riverside Stadium.

Graythorp was a village and now a trading estate within the borough of Hartlepool and the ceremonial county of County Durham, England. It is located on the A178 Tees Road about 1 mile south of Hartlepool. The village was constructed by shipbuilder William Gray and Company to house workers at his Graythorp shipyard on Greatham Creek/Seaton Channel on the River Tees. Graythorp today is an industrial estate historically associated with a shipyard basin currently operated by Able UK as a marine recycling facility.
