Lewis Corner is an unincorporated community in Worcester County, Maryland, United States. Lewis Corner is located at the junction of Maryland routes 376 and 611, 4.3 miles (6.9 km) east-southeast of Berlin.

Henry's Grove is a historic home located at Berlin, Worcester County, Maryland, United States. It was built in 1792, and is a 2+1⁄2-story gable-roofed brick house with all walls laid in Flemish bond. The house retains virtually all of its original interior detailing. Also on the property are a 20th-century frame tenant house and four frame outbuildings. It was built for a planter, John Fassitt, whose initials and the date 1792 are inscribed on a plaque in a gable end.Henry's Grove was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Williams Grove is a historic home located at Berlin, Worcester County, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story, three-part house built in three principal stages. The construction sequence began about 1810 with a two-story, two-bay frame house with a single-story wing, that forms the center of the house. The house was expanded first during the mid 19th century and in the early 1970s, a two-story kitchen and garage wing was added. The exterior is covered with cypress shingles.Williams Grove was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Sinepuxent or Sinepuxent Town was a village in Worcester County, Maryland, located on Sinepuxent Neck across Sinepuxent Bay from the barrier island of Assateague. The village was destroyed by a hurricane in 1818 and never rebuilt. Its location arose in large part from its convenience to ocean-going ships: an inlet—Sinepuxent Inlet—allowed access through Assateague Island from the Atlantic Ocean to Sinepuxent Bay, until it was closed by the same hurricane that destroyed the village. Sinepuxent was the birthplace of U.S. Navy officer Stephen Decatur in 1779.

Sinepuxent Bay is an inland waterway which connects Chincoteague Bay to Isle of Wight Bay, and is connected to the Atlantic Ocean via the Ocean City Inlet. It separates Sinepuxent Neck, in Worcester County, Maryland from Assateague Island, and West Ocean City, Maryland from downtown Ocean City. Islands in the Sinepuxent Bay include Horn Island and Skimmer Island. It is crossed by the Harry W. Kelley Memorial Bridge on U.S. Route 50 and the Verrazano Bridge on Maryland Route 611 (not to be confused with the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City; both were named for Giovanni da Verrazzano, who explored the coastline in 1524). The bay is the location of the islands that compose the Sinepuxent Bay Wildlife Management Area. Historically the area was referred to by various names including Sinepuxent, Sene Puxon, Synepuxent, Cinnepuxon, et al. Sinepuxent Inlet, a navigable waterway through the barrier island during the colonial era, was located just south of the Assateague Island National Seashore day-use area. In September 1698 French pirate Canoot seized a Philadelphia-based sloop "as he was coming out of Cinnepuxon Inlet." The Inlet was closed in a hurricane in 1818, and was filled in by sand in 1860. Sinepuxent was a once-thriving community on the mainland about a half mile north of the Verrazano Bridge, also destroyed in the same hurricane. The current inlet, known as Ocean City Inlet, was cut by the great 1933 Chesapeake–Potomac hurricane, also known as Hurricane Six of 1933. The new inlet was stabilized by rock jetties constructed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, with work commencing in October 1933. Because of the changes that the creation of the Ocean City Inlet made to tidal flows in the bays, the United States Army Corps of Engineers now internally defines the Isle of Wight Bay as extending south to the inlet, and Sinepuxent Bay extending south from the inlet to Chincoteague Bay, despite historical naming conventions.

Assateague State Park is a public recreation area in Worcester County, Maryland, located at the north end of Assateague Island, a barrier island bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and Sinepuxent Bay on the west. The state park is bordered on both its north and south sides by Assateague Island National Seashore and is reached via the Verrazano Bridge which carries Maryland Route 611 across Sinepuxent Bay. The park offers wildlife viewing, beach activities, and camping facilities. It is managed by the Maryland Park Service of the larger Maryland Department of Natural Resources with the support of volunteers working under the auspices of the non-profit Friends of Assateague State Park.

The Verrazano Bridge in Maryland is a bridge on Maryland Route 611 over Sinepuxent Bay that connects Assateague Island to the mainland.The crossing, built in 1964, contains two spans, one carrying automobiles and the other carrying pedestrians and bicycles. It is owned by Maryland, not by the National Park Service. NPS, however, does own part of Assateague Island.

Sinepuxent Bay Wildlife Management Area is a state wildlife management area (WMA) of Maryland that consists of several islands in Sinepuxent Bay, Isle of Wight Bay, and Chincoteague Bay in Worcester County. In the 1930s, dredge spoils from the Chesapeake Bay were used to create 29 islands from Coffin's Point to Tingle's Island. Because of erosion, only four of the thirteen islands designated for wildlife protection in 1964 remain. Heron and Skimmer Islands, located north of the U.S. Route 50 bridge, were added to the Sinepuxent Bay WMA in 1993. These islands, totaling 25 acres (100,000 m2), are a mixture of marsh and tidal mud flats. Sinepuxent Bay WMA serves as breeding habitat for birds which nest together in large colonies. Royal terns and black skimmers are among the "colonial nesting" shorebirds on the islands. Ducks and herons nest on islands with grasses or small trees. Since 1987, one of these islands is home for a colony of nesting brown pelicans. In the fall, hunters will find ducks, snow geese, Atlantic brant and Canada geese. Fishing is excellent for flounder, sea trout, croaker, spot, and bluefish. The islands can be reached only by boat. Hunting in season is permitted in the WMA, as are birding and boating.

West Ocean City is a census-designated place (CDP) in Worcester County, Maryland, United States. The population was 4,375 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Glen Riddle Farm was a large horse farm in Berlin, Maryland in the United States. Located on what today is Route 50 between Ocean City and Berlin, it was owned by a wealthy textile businessman Samuel D. Riddle who named it for his home town Glen Riddle, Pennsylvania which in turn had been named for his grandfather. In addition to the stables and large mansion, Glen Riddle Farm had a one-mile racing oval for training thoroughbred racehorses. The farm was home to Hall of Fame racehorses Man o' War, U.S. Triple Crown winner War Admiral, Crusader as well as other successful thoroughbreds such as Massachusetts Handicap winner War Relic, and American Flag, a son of Man o' War who won the 1925 Belmont Stakes and was voted Champion 3-year-old Male Horse. As part of a program honoring important horse racing tracks and racing stables, the Pennsylvania Railroad named its baggage car #5849 the "Glen Riddle Farm". Samuel D. Riddle raced horses until his death in 1951 after which his heirs took over the property. A fire in 1969 destroyed the mansion and the farm was soon abandoned, left in disrepair for more than thirty years until real estate developers acquired it and built a residential housing complex in 2004.In the mid-1920s, Samuel Riddle acquired Faraway Farm in Lexington, Kentucky where he would send his broodmares along with Man o' War, American Flag, and other stallions. Glen Riddle Farm has been developed recently into a housing complex and golf club. Genesar is a historic home located near Berlin, Worcester County, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story brick dwelling. It represents the hold-over forms of medieval work and the earliest development towards the more formal Georgian ideals in plan and design.Genesar was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Germantown is an unincorporated community in Worcester County, Maryland, United States. It is located at 38°18′30″N 75°12′35″W at the intersection of Germantown and Bethel roads, southeast of Berlin. This historically black community is the location of several AME churches, including Tyree AME, begun by relatives of Methodist minister the Rev. Dr. Charles Tindley, the man whose hymn "I Shall Overcome" became the germ for the very memorable civil rights anthem, "We Shall Overcome." Germantown Road crosses Route 113 to become South Main St of Berlin, MD ("America's Coolest Small Town" 2014). At one time the community was known as Germantown, possibly in reference to the name Berlin, whose derivation is questioned, some saying it's a morphology of Burley Inn. Historically, Berlin and Germantown are nearly totally segregated. While some whites and latinos now live on the east side of 113, hardly any black families own property in Berlin on the west side of 113. Parts of Germantown are within Berlin town limits, including Tyree church. Like other low elevation parts of Worcester County, Germantown contributes to the subtle wetland ecosystem feeding into Newport Bay. At one time, long carefully maintained ditches were essential to prevent flooding and allow for agriculture. The soil there, like much of Worcester county and the Maryland Eastern Shore in general, is often USDA prime agricultural soil, a deep black humus enriched loam topsoil with a clayey loam base. Hardly any stones are encountered. However, the soil can be variable, and wooded areas can be deep with centuries of leaf mold. In general, soft ground, especially during spring, after snow melt and rains, is a perennial problem. Wells and septic systems are used, either new expensive and finicky sand mounds or like most something which was grandfathered in. The forest is dense, and similar to that of surrounding areas, with abundant sweet gum pioneers eventually giving way to large, often massive loblolly pines. Loss of property by tax lien auctions held annually by Worcester county for properties 2 years in arrears is a persistent threat to black property ownership, though many families can trace family homes going back to the Reconstruction. Tax liens are often purchased by local or in state investors, out of state LLCs domiciled in Delaware, and on occasion large foreign conglomerates looking for anything approximate to Atlantic coastal areas. Much of the properties are rentals, with absentee landlords using local real estate agents as property managers. These are notably poorly maintained, but generally the owner occupied single family houses are cared for with pride, even the most humble ones.
