Torrey Pines High School

Fairbanks Ranch Country Club is a neighborhood and private golf club located in northern San Diego, California. The area is bordered by the unincorporated San Diego County communities of Rancho Santa Fe to the north and Fairbanks Ranch to the east, the City of San Diego neighborhood of Pacific Highlands Ranch to the south, and undeveloped natural areas of North City, San Diego to the west. Due to its geography and history, residents and establishments in the area align closely with the adjacent communities of Fairbanks Ranch (hence the name), Rancho Santa Fe, and Del Mar. Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar addresses are used in some parts of the area despite being within San Diego city limits.

North City is a neighborhood in San Diego, California bordered by Solana Beach and Rancho Santa Fe to the north, Del Mar Heights to the west, and Carmel Valley to the south. I-5 forms the western boundary. The name is almost never used by local residents as the area is already included in either Rancho Santa Fe or Carmel Valley. The name is almost exclusively used by the San Diego Police Department for zoning.

Carmel Valley is a suburban planned community in the northwestern corner of San Diego, California, United States. The community is composed of commercial offices, residential units, hotels, retail stores and restaurants.

San Diego Jewish Academy (SDJA) is an independent Jewish day school currently located in the Carmel Valley community of San Diego, California. The school is composed of three schools: SDJA Early Childhood Center, Golda Meir Lower School for grades K-5, and Maimonides Upper School for grades 6–12. SDJA is also home to Camp Carmel Creek, a K-5 summer camp that is open to the entire community. As a pluralistic Jewish day school, SDJA is not affiliated with any one synagogue or movement of Judaism. SDJA is a pluralistic school and has "compacts" with a number of San Diego synagogues.

Cathedral Catholic High School (CCHS) is a private coeducational Catholic college preparatory day school in San Diego, California serving grades 9–12. It is operated by the Diocese of San Diego. In 1970, Cathedral Girls High School, a girls’ school dating back to 1939 and located in downtown San Diego, merged with the all-boys University High School (UHS or Uni) founded in 1957. In 1971, the newly constituted and expanded University of San Diego High School graduated its first coeducational class. Uni or the University of San Diego High School (USDHS), was located in the Linda Vista neighborhood of San Diego. Construction began on CCHS at its current location on Del Mar Heights Road in Carmel Valley in 1999. In 2005, the school including all faculty, administration, and students, moved to that campus and changed its name to Cathedral Catholic High School. Cathedral Catholic High School is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and holds membership with the College Board.

Del Mar Heights is an upscale neighborhood near the coast in San Diego, California bordered by Solana Beach to the north, North City and Carmel Valley to the east, Del Mar to the west, and Torrey Pines to the south. I-5 forms the eastern boundary. It is noted for its hills. The large office, retail, entertainment and academic facilities in University City a.k.a. UTC (over 9 million sq. ft. of office space), Sorrento Mesa/Sorrento Valley (also over 9 million sq. ft.), Torrey Pines (over 2.6 million sq. ft.), and Del Mar Heights/Carmel Valley (over 4.4 million sq. ft.), together form San Diego's "North City edge city", edge city being a major center of employment outside a traditional downtown.

The San Dieguito River is a major river in Southern California, United States. Its headwaters rise on the southern slope of the Volcan Mountains in San Diego County and the river flows generally southwest for 23.8 miles (38.3 km), draining 346 square miles (900 km2) before emptying into the Pacific Ocean 20 miles (32 km) north of San Diego.

San Dieguito Lagoon State Marine Conservation Area (SMCA) is a marine protected area near Del Mar in San Diego County on California’s south coast. The SMCA covers a small area of coastal and inland lagoon habitat. It protects marine life by limiting the removal of marine wildlife from within its borders. It prohibits take of all living marine resources except recreational take of finfish by hook-and-line from shore and the Grand Avenue bridge. Boating, swimming, wading, and diving are prohibited within the conservation area.

Addison is a restaurant in San Diego that showcases California Gastronomy from Chef William Bradley and is the city’s only three-star Michelin restaurant. They earned their first Michelin star in 2019, second star in 2021 and third star in 2022, becoming the first Southern California restaurant with the designation. As of the 2023 Michelin Guide, they are now among only 13 three-star Michelin restaurants in the U.S., and 142 around the globe.La Liste ranked Addison #12 in the U.S. within their 2023 list. Opened in 2006, it is located in the Carmel Valley hillside in North San Diego County.

Via de la Valle is a small residential neighborhood in northern San Diego, California. The neighborhood is bordered by the City of Solana Beach to the north and west, the unincorporated San Diego County community of Rancho Santa Fe to the east, and undeveloped natural areas of North City, San Diego to the south. Due to its zip code, properties in the neighborhood typically use a Del Mar, California address despite being within San Diego city limits. Approximately 125 acres (51 ha) in size, Via de la Valle is the smallest community planning area in the City of San Diego.

The Del Mar Skate Ranch, also known as the DMSR, was an American skatepark in Del Mar, California, which opened August 1978 and was demolished July 1987.

Pacific Highlands Ranch (often referred to as and considered a part of Carmel Valley, a community to its west) is a primarily residential community of approximately 2,652 acres (1,073 ha) in northern San Diego, California. As part of San Diego City Council District 1, it is represented by Joe LaCava, elected in 2020, and as part of District 3 of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, it is represented by Terra Lawson-Remer, also elected in 2020. Both had not been elected to those positions before.
