The Midland Railway Workshops in Midland, Western Australia, were the main workshops for the Western Australian Government Railways (WAGR) for over 80 years.

The Midland Junction railway station was an important junction station on the Eastern Railway of Western Australia until its closure in 1966. Its history started on 1 March 1886 when Frederick Broome, then Governor of Western Australia, turned the first sod. It was the first railway station in Midland Junction and was replaced by the Midland station 300 metres (980 ft) west, across the tracks from the Midland Railway Workshops.

St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals is a health care facility in Midland, Western Australia which opened in November 2015.St John of God Health Care built and operates the hospitals under a public-private partnership with the Western Australian state government. St John of God Midland Public Hospital has replaced the nearby Swan District Hospital.St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals are divisions of St John of God Health Care, a Catholic not-for-profit health care group, serving communities with hospitals, home nursing, and social outreach services throughout Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Woodbridge railway station is located on the Midland line in Perth, 15.5 kilometres from Perth station.

Woodbridge is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Swan local government area. Formerly part of Midland and previously informally named West Midland, its name is from the original farm established in 1830. On 4 October 2004, Transperth renamed the West Midland railway station to Woodbridge station. The station is part of the Midland railway line which serves the eastern suburbs as a rapid transit railway. Woodbridge House, a National Trust property on the edge of the Swan River, is now a museum that is open to the public. Governor Stirling Senior High School is within the locality.

Midland Gate Shopping Centre is located in Midland, Western Australia. It is north of Great Eastern Highway, and east of the earlier Midland Junction shopping area that was focused on the Great Northern Highway. Midland Gate is one of three shopping centres in Western Australia with all three discount department stores – Kmart, Target and Big W, with the other two being Mandurah Forum and Lakeside Joondalup. It has over 200 specialty stores, three supermarkets (Coles, Aldi and Woolworths), a fresh food mall, food court and an eight-screen Ace Cinema Complex.

Midland is a suburb in the Perth metropolitan region, as well as the regional centre for the City of Swan local government area that covers the Swan Valley and parts of the Darling Scarp to the east. It is situated at the intersection of Great Eastern Highway and Great Northern Highway. Midland is almost always regarded as a suburb of Perth, being only 16 km (10 mi) away from the city centre.

Governor Stirling Senior High School (abbreviated as GSSHS) is a public co-educational partially selective high day school, located in Woodbridge, a north-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The school provides both a vocational and tertiary entrance education for students from Year 7 to Year 12.Opened in 1959, the school replaced the former Midland Junction High School (MJHS) founded in 1901, at a new site in West Midland.

The Guildford Grammar School Chapel usually known as the Chapel of St. Mary and St. George is a Heritage-listed building situated on Terrace Road, East Guildford and is used and owned by Guildford Grammar School.
