Daw's House is a hamlet in the parish of South Petherwin, Cornwall, England, on the outskirts of the significant town of Launceston.

St Thomas the Apostle Rural, also known as St Thomas-by-Launceston (Cornish: Sen Tommos Lannstefan) is a civil parish in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is centred on the village of Tregadillett (Cornish: Tregadylet) and is in the Registration District of Launceston. The parish lies to the west of the town of Launceston. It is bounded to the east by Launceston St Mary Magdelene, to the south by South Petherwin, to the west by Trewen, and to the north by Egloskerry and St Stephen-by-Launceston. The population of the parish in the 2001 census was 815. The district falls within the Altarnun civil ward but at the 2011 Census the parish population had increased only slightly to 836.In the 19th century, the parish of St Thomas the Apostle was split into rural and urban parts, the urban part being incorporated into Launceston. Thus the population in the 1891 census is given as 352 (urban) and 924 (rural).

Kennards House is a small settlement in east Cornwall, United Kingdom, situated at grid reference SX 287 830 in the civil parish of South Petherwin .Kennards House is half-a-mile from the larger village of Tregadillett and three miles (5 km) west of Launceston. The location is familiar to motorists as it is signposted Kennards House Junction on the A30 trunk road; the location is a two-level junction of A30, the A395 road and two unclassified minor roads. To the north of the A395 at Kennards House are Trethorne Leisure Park (a tourist attraction) and Trethorne Golf Club's golf course.

Launceston Rural District was a local government division of Cornwall between 1894 and 1974. Established under the Local Government Act 1894, the rural district was enlarged in 1966 by the abolition of Broadwoodwidger Rural District, in Devon, to include the civil parishes of North Petherwin and Werrington.In 1974 the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, forming part of the new North Cornwall district.

Broadwoodwidger was a rural district in the administrative county of Devon from 1894 to 1966, northeast of Launceston. The district consisted of part of the Launceston rural sanitary district in Devon. The remainder of the sanitary district became Launceston Rural District in Cornwall. The rural district comprised six civil parishes: Broadwoodwidger Northcott North Petherwin St Giles on the Heath Virginstow WerringtonPart of the rural district lay west of the River Tamar, forming a salient surrounded by Cornwall on three sides. The county boundary was realigned when the district was abolished in 1966, with two parishes, North Petherwin and the majority of Werrington being transferred to Cornwall with the remaining four parishes remaining in Devon and passing to the Holsworthy Rural District.

Launceston Guildhall and Town Hall is a municipal building in Western Road in Launceston, Cornwall, England. The building, which was the meeting place of Launceston Town Council, is a Grade II listed building.

Launceston railway station (Cornish: Lannstevan) was situated in Launceston, Cornwall, United Kingdom. It was served by both the Great Western Railway (GWR) and London and South Western Railway (LSWR). There were actually two stations adjacent to each other, the northern station serving the line to Plymouth, which was built by the Launceston and South Devon Railway (later GWR), and the southern station being on the North Cornwall Railway (for the LSWR) which was operated by the London and South Western Railway. The two stations unusually shared a "back to back" signal box from 1916, despite being operated by different railway companies. A connection between the two railways was provided in 1943. The GWR station closed to passengers in 1952, all trains then using the LSWR station. The Launceston Steam Railway now operates nearby.

Eagle House Hotel is a Grade II* listed building located in Castle Street, Launceston, Cornwall. Formerly a townhouse, it is now a hotel and is built in the Georgian style in red brick.Charles Causley, Launceston's most renowned poet, wrote about the statues outside the property.The building dates back to 1764, having been commissioned as a townhouse by Coryndon Carpenter, a former mayor of Launceston and the constable of Launceston Castle. Reputedly the house was partly financed by a £10,000 lottery win. In 1963 the building was converted into a hotel, also equipped with a restaurant area. By 2015 the building had fallen into disrepair and was considered for conversion back into a private house. It was eventually bought by the current owners, who renovated the property as a hotel with restaurant. It reopened in spring 2017.

Lawrence House is a Georgian townhouse in Launceston, Cornwall. Built in 1753, the house is a National Trust property and a Grade II* listed building. It is leased to Launceston Town Council and used as a local museum.
