Wellington Street Apartment House District

The United States Commonwealth of Massachusetts currently has eight statistical areas that have been delineated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). On March 6, 2020, the OMB delineated one combined statistical area, six metropolitan statistical areas, and one micropolitan statistical area in Massachusetts.

The Main Street and Murray Avenue Historic District of Worcester, Massachusetts encompasses a collection of stylistically similar apartment houses in the city's Piedmont neighborhood. It includes four properties, two each on Main Street and Murray Avenue, which form a cluster of apartment houses of a style that once lined both streets for greater length. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.

The Boynton and The Windsor are a pair historic buildings at 718 and 720 Main Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. They are nearly identical brick apartment buildings that were constructed c. 1887 to designs by Barker & Nourse, and are well preserved instances of late 19th century apartment house construction that once lined Main Street for many blocks. Of the two the Boynton (718 Main Street) is the better preserved, with an unaltered exterior.The buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Marion Battelle Three-Decker is a historic triple decker residence in Worcester, Massachusetts. It is a well-preserved and detailed example of a triple decker with Queen Anne styling. It is built with typical side hall plan, with a hip roof punctured by a gable dormer on the front facade. At the time of its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, it included detailing such as decoratively bracketed eave, and its turret-like front bay window was decorated with alternating bands of patterned shingles. Since then the exterior has been modified by the application of modern siding, and these details have been lost or obscured.

The IOOF Building is a historic building at 674 Main Street in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Emmanuel Baptist or the Main Street Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church building at 717 Main Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. It is the only example of Norman Style architecture in the city. The brick church was built in two parts: the chapel was built in 1853, and the main church body was built in 1855. The elements characteristic of this particular style include recessed wall paneling, the corbelled roofline, buttresses, and the recessed entry framed by an arch. The church was built for the Third Baptist congregation, which merged with the First Baptists in 1902, at which time the building was sold to the First Presbyterian Church of Worcester.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Willard Richmond Apartment Block is an historic apartment house at 43 Austin Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Built sometime between 1879 and 1886, it is one of the first apartment blocks built in the Main-Wellington-Chandler area, which had one of the city's highest concentrations of such buildings by 1900. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Worcester Junior College was a private junior college located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Prior to its closure in 1989, Worcester Junior College offered associate degrees in the fields of liberal arts and sciences, and was accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.

The Russell is an historic apartment house in Worcester, Massachusetts. Built in 1894, it is one of the few surviving apartment blocks, of many built, in the Main-Wellington-Chandler area, which had one of the city's highest concentrations of such buildings by 1900. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Moody Shattuck House is a historic house at 768 Main Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Queen Anne style house was constructed in 1885 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Moody Edson Shattuck, founder of the M.E. Shattuck Cigar & Tobacco Company, was born in Waterville, Vermont on May 9, 1835. In 1858 he arrived in Worcester, Massachusetts and purchased a cigar store in the Lincoln House block, moving to the Walker Building two years later. Over the next several decades he would continue to develop his cigar business. At one time, it was one of the largest in New England. Moody Shattuck married Helen Augusta Prouty on January 12, 1863. He built the house at 768 Main Street in 1885. Moody Shattuck died April 10, 1892. His wife remained in the house after his death. Mrs. Shattuck died in 1907. Both are buried at the Worcester Rural Cemetery.

The Daniel Stevens House is a historic Second Empire house at 7 Sycamore Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Built about 1865 for Daniel and Charles Stevens, it is a well-preserved local example of Second Empire architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The S. D. Newton House is a historic house at 8 Sycamore Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Built in 1846, it is an excellent local instance of Greek Revival styling, and one of the few houses surviving from that period in the neighborhood. which once had many more of such houses. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 5, 1980. Unfortunately the current keeper of the home has let it go. Not much original left. Garbage everywhere on the inside. Lead paint, peeling paint. An eyesore it has become. It once was a great piece of local history.
