Friedrichstadt (Dresden)

EnergieVerbund Arena (formerly known as Freiberger Arena) is an arena in Dresden, Germany. It is primarily used for the ice hockey club Dresdner Eislöwen.

Ostragehege is a multi-use sports venue in Dresden, Germany. Key buildings of the venue include the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion and the ice hockey stadium of the Dresdner Eislöwen (or Dresden ice lions). The stadium was the primary aiming point for No. 5 Group RAF squadron during the Dresden bombings of February 1945. Bomb runs were timed and direction calculated to fan out from this point, causing massive devastation and a fire-storm which killed tens of thousands of event watchers.The slaughterhouse on the site was where Kurt Vonnegut was imprisoned in 1945, and where he set his novel Slaughterhouse-Five.

Dresden Mitte (centre) station is a regional station in central Dresden. The station, which was opened in 1897 as Wettiner Straße, is located on the connecting line between Dresden Hauptbahnhof and Dresden-Neustadt station. It has been proposed as the location of a new Dresden central train station several times. Train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn, Städtebahn Sachsen and Vogtlandbahn.

Dresden-Friedrichstadt station is a freight yard that is, along with the two passenger stations of Dresden Hauptbahnhof and Dresden-Neustadt, a central component of the railway node of Dresden in the German state of Saxony. The station precinct, which is located in the Dresden district of Friedrichstadt, also includes a locomotive depot (Bahnbetriebswerk Dresden) and a regional passenger station. The Berliner Bahnhof, that is the terminus on the line from Berlin, was opened on the site in 1875. A marshalling yard was built from 1890 as a gravity yard, along with a repair shop (Ausbesserungswerk)—which was called the Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk Dresden from 1920—and the locomotive depot. After major destruction as a result of the air raids on Dresden during the Second World War, rebuilding began in 1945. By the turn of the century, its significance had diminished. Until the end of hump operations in 2009, it was along with the Leipzig-Engelsdorf marshalling yard, the only remaining yard in Saxony to handle wagonload freight. After the turn of the millennium, it was redeveloped as a yard for the transhipment of combined transport.

The Jakobikirche was a High Rhenish Neo-Romanesque church built in Dresden between 1898 and 1901 to plans by Jürgen Kröger. It was destroyed by bombing in the Second World War and its ruins were demolished in 1953.

The Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber (Carl Maria von Weber College of Music; also/formerly known as Dresden Conservatory or Dresden Royal Conservatory) is a university of music in Dresden, Germany.

The Heinz-Steyer-Stadion, in Dresden, Germany, is an association football, American football and athletics stadium currently used by the Dresdner SC and the Dresden Monarchs. It has a capacity of about 30,000 but is currently restricted to about 5,000 for football matches (although it had attendances of more than 50,000 people in the 1930s). It was also the first stadium of Dynamo Dresden. It was the venue for Dynamo's first Inter-Cities Fairs Cup match, against Rangers.

Dresden Freiberger Straße station (German: Haltepunkt Dresden Freiberger Straße) is a railway station in the town of Dresden, Saxony, Germany. The station lies on the Pirna–Coswig railway.

Yenidze is a former cigarette factory building in Dresden, Saxony, Germany built between 1907 and 1909. Today it is used as an office building. It is notable for its Orientalizing exterior design which borrows design elements from mosques. The Yenidze Tobacco and Cigarette Factory (German: Orientalische Tabak- und Zigarettenfabrik Yenidze) was a tobacco company started by the Jewish entrepreneur Hugo Zietz, which imported tobacco from Ottoman Yenidze, Thrace (modern Genisea, Greece). The "Oriental" style of architecture recalled the exotic origins of the Oriental tobaccos it processed and functioned as advertising for the firm. It has 600 windows of various styles; the dome is 20 metres (65') high. The architect Martin Hammitzsch (the second husband of Angela Hitler) designed the building in 1907. It has large, colored dome chimneys which resemble minarets. It was sometimes referred to as the "tobacco mosque" (German: Tabakmoschee), a term which is no longer officially used as the building is not a mosque. It is a unique historical feature of the city of Dresden. The building was restored in 1996 and is now an office building.

Anne's Church (German: Annenkirche) is named in honour of Anne of Denmark, Electress of Saxony. The original 1578 church was destroyed by Prussian troops in 1760 during the Seven Years' War. The new church was opened in 1769.

Ballhaus Watzke (self-designation: Ball- & Brauhaus Watzke) is a late 19th-century restaurant with a ballroom on the upper floor and an in-house brewery under monument protection. The restaurant is located in Dresden at the corner Leipziger Straße and Kötzschenbroderstraße in the district Mickten (Ortsamt Pieschen)

The Saxon Landtag (German: Sächsischer Landtag) is a building at the Bernhard von Lindenau Platz in Dresden, which serves as the seat of the landtag (state parliament) of Saxony, the Landtag of the Free State of Saxony.
