The Museum of Southwestern Biology (MSB) is a research and teaching facility in the Department of Biology of the University of New Mexico (UNM). The museum's collections include vascular plants, invertebrates and vertebrates from the American West, Central and South America, and from throughout the world. It is open to visitors by appointment. The Museum was said in 1997 to hold the largest collection of frozen tissue samples (85,000) in the western hemisphere and has assisted in the study of emerging zoonotic pathogens such as the Hantavirus and the Lassa virus.

The Autophagy, Inflammation and Metabolism Center or AIM Center is an NIH-funded Center of Biomedical Research Excellence focused on the study of autophagy as a fundamental biological process and how it intersects with metabolism and quality control processes in eukaryotic cells. A special emphasis is on the role or autophagy in a wide spectrum of diseases with metabolic, inflammatory and immunological aspects. At the fundamental level, autophagy is a cytoplasmic pathway for the disposal of damaged or surplus organelles such as mitochondria, peroxisomes, lysosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, protein aggregates and also serves as a catabolic process providing nutrients through autodigestion at times of starvation. Autophagy has been implicated in cancer, neurodegeneration such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease and Parkinson's disease, diabetes, development, infections and immune diseases, as well as a process of relevance for aging. The purpose of the AIM center is to promote autophagy research at the international, national and regional levels and to provide resources to communities of scholars interested in this process in any context including basic science or translational research. AIM has scientific cores providing technical resources for study of autophagy, accessible to its members, associate members as well as to a group of international affiliate members. It provides a mentoring structure for support of junior faculty enrolled with the center and promotes collaborative multidisciplinary studies centered on the key thematic focus of the AIM center – fundamental study of autophagy and its role in disease. The AIM has International Council of Affiliate Members (ICAM) on all continents (see figure). The ICAM is complemented by the National Council of Affiliate (NCAM) members. NCAM is organized in sections by clinical disciplines/specialties, and at present has cardiology and nephrology sections. The center hosts annual meetings and workshops with national and international reach and impact. The AIM center leads and supports cutting edge research, including supporting research pilots for the COVID-19 pandemic. The AIM center is hosting, together with the Journal of Cell Science, the 2020 international AIM eSymposium on covid, autophagy, inflammation and metabolism.During Phase I, mentored junior faculty whose research projects and development as scientists has been directly supported by funding from the AIM center, have won seven independent R01 grants. The AIM center support from NIH for Phase II has been received and the AIM center begins a new 5 year cycle starting September 1, 2022.

The University of New Mexico Art Museum (sometimes referred to as the University Art Museum or UNM Art Museum) is an art museum at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. The museum's permanent collection includes nearly 30,000 objects, making it the largest collection of fine art in New Mexico.

The University of New Mexico Arboretum is an arboretum extending throughout the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The arboretum contains some 320 species of woody plants, including Albizia julibrissin, Buxus microphylla japonica, Campsis radicans, Cercis canadensis, Chilopsis linearis, Cotoneaster lacteus, Cupressus arizonica, Forestiera neomexicana, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Fraxinus velutina, Ginkgo biloba, Gleditsia triacanthos inermis, Hedera helix, Juniperus communis, Juniperus sabina 'Broadmoor', Koelreuteria paniculata, Morus alba 'Pendula', Nandina domestica, Photinia serrulata, Pinus mugo, Pinus nigra, Pinus ponderosa, Pinus sylvestris, Platanus × hispanica, Poa pratensis, Populus canadensis 'Eugenii', Populus tremuloides, Rhaphiolepis indica, Salix babylonica, Ulmus pumila, Vitex agnus-castus.

Carlisle Gymnasium is an indoor arena on the campus of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was the home of the New Mexico Lobos basketball team from its opening in 1928 until the completion of the larger Johnson Gymnasium in 1957, and was also the original venue of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. The building currently houses the university's Elizabeth Waters Center for Dance.The building was designed by the firm of Gaastra, Gladding and Johnson in the Pueblo Revival architectural style, which was the de facto official style for all new buildings on campus. In a novel application of the style, the architects used stepped massing, vigas, and other Pueblo details to mask the rectilinear form of the gymnasium. The building was completed at a cost of approximately $85,000 and was named after Hugh Carlisle, a UNM student who died in World War I. Carlisle Gymnasium was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The University of New Mexico (UNM; Spanish: Universidad de Nuevo México) is a public research university in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Founded in 1889 by the New Mexico Territorial Legislature, it is the state's oldest university, flagship academic institution, and the largest by enrollment, with over 25,400 students in 2021. UNM comprises twelve colleges and schools, including the only law school in New Mexico. It offers 215 degree and certificate programs, including 94 baccalaureate, 71 master and 37 doctoral degrees. The main campus spans 800 acres (320 ha) in central Albuquerque, with branch campuses in Gallup, Los Alamos, Rio Rancho, Taos, and Los Lunas. UNM is identified as having "very high research activity" by the Carnegie Classification. According to the National Science Foundation, it spent over $243 million on research and development in 2021, ranking 103rd in the U.S. UNM is classified as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) by the U.S. Department of Education, with nearly half its students being Hispanic.UNM's 16 varsity sports programs, known as the Lobos, compete in NCAA Division I (FBS for football) and are members of the Mountain West Conference; the school has won national championships in skiing and cross country running. UNM's official colors are cherry and silver. The school has approximately 200,000 alumni worldwide.

Zimmerman Library is the historic main library of the University of New Mexico, located near the center of the university campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is one of the largest and most notable buildings designed by New Mexico architect John Gaw Meem and is the centerpiece of the UNM Libraries, the largest library system in New Mexico with almost 4 million print volumes. It was built in 1936–38 with funding from the Public Works Administration and Works Progress Administration, with further additions completed in 1966 and 1973. The building was named for former university president James Fulton Zimmerman in 1961. It was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.The library is a nine-story, Pueblo Revival style building constructed from reinforced concrete, brick, and structural clay tile. The original 1938 section of the library consists of a great hall, five reading rooms, and the central nine-story stack tower, which was designed to hold 225,000 volumes. The interior trim and furnishings were handmade by local artisans employed by the WPA, including hand-carved corbels, vigas, and heating register covers, wrought-iron banisters, door handles, and gates, and punched-tin light fixtures. Four murals in the great hall were created by Kenneth Miller Adams. To the east of the original section are two additions, completed in 1966 and 1973 respectively, which brought the total size of the library to approximately 224,000 square feet (20,800 m2).

President's House, in Albuquerque, New Mexico on the University of New Mexico campus at the northeast corner of Roma Ave. and Yale Blvd., was built in 1930. It is now known as University House. It was designed by architect Miles Brittelle in Spanish Pueblo Revival style. It was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Albuquerque Rapid Transit, also known as ART, is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system serving the Central Avenue corridor in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. There are two lines running between Tramway Boulevard (NM 556), the Central and Unser Transit Center (CUTC), and the Uptown Transit Center (UTC). It was built in 2016–17 and began limited operation in November 2017, but was subsequently delayed for over two years due to problems with the stations and buses. After the original fleet of electric buses was replaced with diesel buses, the line began regular service on November 30, 2019.

The Anderson School of Management (Anderson) is the business school of the University of New Mexico (UNM). Anderson was the first professional school of management established in the state of New Mexico. Anderson's current alumni base is over 24,000 graduates.

Johnson Gymnasium is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the campus of the University of New Mexico. It opened in 1957 and was the home venue of the New Mexico Lobos basketball team until The Pit opened in 1966. Today, Johnson Gymnasium is the home floor for the Lobo volleyball team. The gym is named after former Lobos basketball coach, Roy Johnson. On March 18, 2015, the arena hosted a New Mexico Lobos women's basketball game for the first time when the Lobos took on North Dakota in the first round of the Women's Basketball Invitational. The team's normal venue, The Pit, was not available due to a conflicting Professional Bull Riders event. The Lobos won the game and advanced to the second round where they were defeated by Oral Roberts at the same venue.

Weekly Alibi, commonly referred to as The Alibi, was a free weekly news, arts, culture, and entertainment newspaper and website in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The main features were the website's award-winning news section, featuring cultural commentary by August March; the calendar listings; reviews and guides to arts; art criticism; entertainment news; music interviews; and film reviews by noted film critic/Managing Editor Devin O'Leary. Its "Chowtown" restaurant guide and its "Best of Burque" award issues, which covered everything from "Best Community Action Group" and "Best All-You-Can-Eat" to "Best Gay Bar" were popular features of Weekly Alibi.Originally the newspaper was a bi-weekly newspaper called NuCity, but changed its name due to a similar Chicago newspaper entitled Newcity. The newspaper and website were members of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia as well as the National Newspaper Association. The Weekly Alibi is closed; its last edition was published in late August, 2020.
