New Cumberland Defense Depot

Naval Support Activity Philadelphia is a 134 acres (0.209 sq mi) United States Navy base located in the Lawncrest section of Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and located 113 miles (182 km) east of its parent command, NSA Mechanicsburg. With the exception of a few buildings, much of the base is industrial in style, and consists of office-converted warehouses for the various Naval supply commands located on the installation. According to the base guide, its warehouse offices and other buildings amount to 2,250,000 square feet (209,000 m2) of cubic space on the base. It also provides support services to Navy units that are situated at the Philadelphia Navy Yard Annex.

Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg is an 806 acres (1.259 sq mi) naval supply depot just outside of Mechanicsburg in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Largely industrial, and home to over 150 warehouses containing 8,800,000 square feet (820,000 m2) of storage space and other buildings, it is the headquarters of the Naval Supply Systems Command. It is also the parent installation of Naval Support Activity Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Navy Yard Annex, which share the same commanding officer.

The Eastern Distribution Center (EDC), located in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Harrisburg, is home to the largest distribution facility operated by the United States Department of Defense. It is managed by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and is part of the Defense Distribution Depot Susquehanna (DDSP), which includes the operations of the nearby Naval Support Activity (NSA) in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Enhaut is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The community was formerly part of the census-designated place of Bressler-Enhaut-Oberlin, before splitting into three separate CDPs for the 2010 census. As of the 2010 census, the population in Enhaut was 1,007.Enhaut is bordered to the southwest by the borough of Steelton, to the southeast by Bressler, and to the northeast by Oberlin. It is 4 miles (6 km) southeast of the state capitol in Harrisburg.

Steelton High School, historically known as Felton School, is a historic high school building located at Steelton, Pennsylvania. It was built in various stages between 1882 and 1990. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Bressler is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The community was formerly part of the census-designated place of Bressler-Enhaut-Oberlin, before splitting into three separate CDPs for the 2010 census. As of the 2010 census the population of Bressler was 1,437. Bressler is located in southern Dauphin County, in the southwestern part of Swatara Township. It is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle metropolitan statistical area. It is bordered to the south by the borough of Steelton, to the west by Enhaut, and to the north by Oberlin. It is 5 miles (8 km) southeast of downtown Harrisburg.

Bressler-Enhaut-Oberlin was a census-designated place (CDP) in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,809 at the 2000 census. For the 2010 census it was split into three CDPs, Bressler, Enhaut, and Oberlin. The area is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Calver Island is a historic archaeological site located on the Susquehanna River in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It is known as Pennsylvania Site 36DA89. Geographically, Calver Island is a "midchannel" island formed from the coalescence of two longitudinal shoals that merged as one landform. It was only then upon the unification of the land, estimated at 5200 years before present, where it would've been inhabitable by Native Americans.In the 2000s, a bridge for the Pennsylvania Turnpike—between Fairview Township, York County and Swatara Township, Dauphin County—which spanned through the island was in need of replacement by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Because it required review by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the National Historic Preservation Act also required that the project not impact archaeological information, which was first identified there in the 1970s. With some additional digs, the island was found to be eligible to be added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. Most digging then occurred in several block excavations in the immediate area of potential effect (APE) prior to construction of the new bridge.Calver Island is a stratified site, so found artifacts' originate from Early Archaic through Late Woodland periods. The island itself had one of the most intact stratigraphic records in the entire state.
