Evergreen (Owensville, Maryland)

Owensville Historic District is a national historic district at Owensville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is located around a small crossroads community located at the intersection of Owensville Road (MD 255) and Owensville-Sudley Road. It consists of a concentration of historic buildings leading up to and clustered around the intersecting roads. It consists of 27 buildings, including two church complexes, 16 dwellings with their associated domestic outbuildings, and several agricultural buildings, including tobacco barns. Included in the district is the separately listed Christ Church. Much of the historic building stock dates between 1825 and 1875.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Christ Church, or Christ Episcopal Church, West River, is an historic Carpenter Gothic style Episcopal church at Owensville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is a small, board-and-batten church with a long narrow nave, small deep chancel, and an entrance porch on its south side. The church is reputed to be by the noted church architect, Richard Upjohn and was at least built from his published designs of 1852.Christ Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Sudley is a historic home at Deale, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is a 1+1⁄2-story frame house with shorter perpendicular wings added. It is a grand hall-chamber house of the 1720–1730 period and retains a great deal of early finish. The house is typical of the Medieval Transitional style of architecture, and has undergone three significant renovations, one in the third quarter of the 18th century of Georgian-style, one about 1800, and finally a restoration in 1945. The house is associated with Kensey Johns, Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court, chancellor of Delaware, and a delegate to the Delaware Constitutional Convention from New Castle County, Delaware; John Johns, Bishop of Virginia and President of The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia; the ancestors of Johns Hopkins, the Baltimore benefactor; and families associated generally with the county's Quaker heritage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Lothian is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States., 12 miles southwest of Annapolis, 24 miles east of Washington and 31 miles south of Baltimore. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 6,643 people. Public Schools: Lothian Elementary, Southern Middle, and Southern Senior. Burrages End is a historic home near Lothian, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is a small 1+1⁄2-story frame house with gambrel roof. The site is noteworthy for containing a number of buildings from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The house was constructed c. 1780, replacing an earlier house on the site, according to a 1982 study by the Architectural Research Department of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, presumably by Col. John Weems who purchased the property in 1764. Weems was the construction contractor for the 1762-65 St. James' Church 3/4 mile to the south. At Weems' death in 1794, Burrages End was sold to Thomas Sellman and remained in that family's hands until 1946. A Weems-Sellman cemetery is on site. Historic outbuildings include a slave quarter and a tobacco barn. In the late 1700s, Major John Welsh built a hall-and-parlor plan house with a "new hall" addition, both replaced c. 1780. "Although often assigned a late 17th century date, the present dwelling is a later house, built c. 1780." The property was patented in 1665 to John Burrage, who sold it to Welsh in 1668.Burrages End was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Oakwood is a historic house at Harwood, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It was built in the 1850s and is a 2+1⁄2-story, frame vernacular farmhouse with Greek Revival influenced details. It is a highly intact, mid-19th-century tobacco plantation dwelling and is associated with Sprigg Harwood, a leader in the failed initiative to have Maryland leave the Union and align with the newly formed Confederate States of America.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Quarter Place is a historic home located at Lothian in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It was built in 1860 and is a 2+1⁄2-story Gothic Revival–style frame dwelling. It consists of a main block with a 2-story rear wing. The main block is three bays wide with a central entrance and features a central cross-gable roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Norman's Retreat is a historic home and farm complex at Galesville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It consists of an early-19th-century dwelling, three 19th-century outbuildings, and a bath house and gazebo of recent date. The 2+1⁄2-story house was constructed about 1812 and is of frame construction with a brick gable end.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Mary's Mount is a historic home at Harwood, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The earliest portion of Mary's Mount was built in 1771 for Col. Richard Harwood as a 1+1⁄2-story gambrel roof structure. The Bird family was to take possession of this property from 1820 to 1965. Jacob Wheeler Bird enlarged the house to its present two-story height in the early 19th century. The enlargements included two northern additions, each section of which is lower than its neighbor to the south, creating a "telescope" effect.Mary's Mount was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.

Tulip Hill is a plantation house located about one mile from Galesville in Anne Arundel County in the Province of Maryland. Built between 1755 and 1756, it is a particularly fine example of an early Georgian mansion, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970 for its architecture.The house sits atop a ridge and overlooks the West River. The house was built by Samuel Galloway for his wife, Ann (Chew) Galloway. They married in 1742.
