Dominion Park

Longue-Pointe (French pronunciation: [lɔ̃g pwɛ̃t]) was a Montreal neighbourhood now located in the borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. The neighborhood was permanently divided by the construction of the Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine Tunnel. Most of its territory is now part of the Mercier-Ouest while some of the area that fell east of the highway is now within Mercier-Est. It is best known for its military base, CFB Longue-Pointe, the supply depot for all of Eastern Canada's armed forces. Around 2000 civilians and soldiers work at CFB Longue Pointe. Longue-Pointe was the site of a famous battle in the American Revolutionary War in 1775, in which Ethan Allen made an ill-fated attempt to capture Montreal from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve is a borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada located in the southeastern end of the island.

Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) was a Canadian railway locomotive manufacturer which existed under several names from 1883 to 1985, producing both steam and diesel locomotives. For a number of years it was a subsidiary of the American Locomotive Company. MLW's headquarters and manufacturing facilities were in Montreal, Quebec.

Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal is a psychiatric hospital in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 7401 Hochelaga Street in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. It was established in 1873 and is affiliated with the Université de Montréal Faculty of Medicine. The facility receives people with severe mental health problems. It opened its doors in 1873 under the name of "Asile (hospice) Saint-Jean-de-Dieu." It has been designated as "asile de Longue-Pointe," the name of the place. On May 16, 1890, about 100 people were killed in a terrible fire that almost completely destroyed the institution. The poet Émile Nelligan resided in the hospital from 1925 to 1941. It had hosted up to 5,000 patients. The number has declined since the 1980s and some wings were closed. In 1976, the Hôpital St-Jean-de-Dieu became the Hôpital Louis-H. Lafontaine. On October 14, 2011, Hôpital Louis-H. Lafontaine is designated a mental health university institute. On March 5, 2013, the Hôpital Louis-H. Lafontaine renamed to become the Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal.

Mercier denotes the eastern portion of the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of the city of Montreal, Quebec. It consists of two neighbourhoods Mercier-Ouest (Longue-Pointe) and Mercier-Est (Tétreaultville).

The Battle of Longue-Pointe (French: Bataille de Longue-Pointe) was an attempt by Ethan Allen and a small force of American and Quebec militia to capture Montreal from British forces on September 25, 1775, early in the American Revolutionary War. Allen, who had been instructed only to raise militia forces among the local inhabitants, had long had thoughts of taking the lightly defended city. When he reached the southern shore of the St. Lawrence River with about 110 men, he seized the opportunity to try. Major John Brown, whom Allen claimed was supposed to provide additional forces, did not appear as they had planned, isolating Allen and his men on the north side of the river. British General Guy Carleton sent a force composed mostly of Quebec militia in response to news of Allen's crossing of the St. Lawrence. This force cut off Allen's escape route, and eventually surrounded and captured Allen and a number of his men. Carleton eventually abandoned Montreal, which fell without battle to Continental Army forces on November 13. Allen was sent first to England and then New York City as a prisoner, and was eventually exchanged in 1778.

Camille-Laurin is a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The district is located within the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of Montreal. It includes territory between the boundary with Pointe-aux-Trembles borough and the Canadian National railway and between mostly Sherbrooke Street and the Anjou borough and the Saint Lawrence River. It was created for the 1960 election from a part of Laval electoral district (not to be confused with the modern-day city of Laval, which was not established until 1965). In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged. The riding was known from 1960 to 2022 as Bourget.

Hochelaga (French pronunciation: [ɔʃlaɡa]) was a St. Lawrence Iroquois 16th century fortified village on or near Mount Royal in present-day Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Jacques Cartier arrived by boat on October 2, 1535; he visited the village on the following day. He was greeted well by the Iroquois, and named the mountain he saw nearby Mount Royal. Several names in and around Montreal and the Hochelaga Archipelago can be traced back to him. A stone marker commemorating the former village was placed in 1925 on land adjacent to McGill University. It is believed to be in the vicinity of the village visited by Cartier in 1535. The site of the marker is designated a National Historic Site of Canada.The name of the village survives in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, the name of a neighbourhood of Montreal; a variant spelling survives in Montreal's contemporary Osheaga Festival.

Promenade Bellerive Park (French: Parc de la Promenade-Bellerive) is an urban park in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located in between Notre Dame Street East and the Saint Lawrence River. It is 22 hectares (54 acres) large. Throughout its approximately 2km length, it faces the Boucherville Islands and Charron Island. A ferry service to Charron Island runs during the summer.

Radisson station is a Montreal Metro station in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and serves the Green Line. It is in the district of Saint-Jean-de-Dieu. It opened on June 6, 1976, as part of the extension of the Green Line to Honoré-Beaugrand station.
