Craichie (Scots pronunciation: [ˈkrexe]) is a hamlet in the parish of Dunnichen, Angus, Scotland. Craichie is three miles south-east of Forfar and two miles south-west of Letham, at a junction on the B9128 Carnoustie to Forfar road.

Rescobie Loch is a post glacial fresh water body located in the parish of Rescobie, 4 km (2.5 mi) to the East of Forfar, in the county of Angus, Scotland. The loch is fed by Lunan Water which enters from the West and exits to the East.

Letham (Scots pronunciation: [ˈlɛθəm]) is a village in Angus, Scotland. Letham is the largest village in Angus, with a population of nearly 2,000. Situated 17 miles (27 km) from Dundee, 5 miles (8.0 km) from Forfar, 10 miles (16 km) from Arbroath and 10 miles (16 km) from Carnoustie. There are some shops, including two groceries, one of which incorporates the Post Office and newsagent, a primary school, a bakery, a hairdresser, a take-away restaurant, a former hotel which now only functions as bar, the Commercial Inn and a widely known craft shop. The village is part of the parish of Letham, Dunnichen and Kirkden. In and around the Village is an extensive pattern of green paths which are kept cut by a group of volunteers, giving the village many and varied places to walk. . Many organisations and groups exist to enhance village life, the oldest of these being the Feuars Committee, which manages properties, held in trust for the people of the village. Nearby is the village of Dunnichen, which is widely believed to be the site of the Battle of Nechtansmere, and the Hamlets of Bowriefauld and Craichie. To the north of the village there is a Pictish stone with a cup and ring marking, locally known as the Girdlestane. Pictish stones have been found in many sites in Angus. Letham is twinned with Monasterboice, County Louth, Ireland.

Restenneth Priory was a monastic house of Augustinian canons founded by Jedburgh Abbey, with the patronage of King Malcolm IV of Scotland, in 1153. Although there is little literary evidence, archaeological evidence strongly indicates that there was a monastery at Restenneth from very early times. There is also speculation that Restenneth may even have been the Pictish church dedicated to St Peter (mentioned in Bede) built in 710 for Nechtán mac Der Ilei, King of the Picts. Augustinian Restenneth was always a small priory and very dependent on its mother-house at Jedburgh. In 1501 there were only two canons and an annual income of £120 (compare Arbroath Abbey, which had £10,924 in 1561). There was an attempt to incorporate it into the Royal Chapel in this year, but this failed to occur, and King James IV of Scotland suggested its incorporation into the archbishopric of St Andrews. This too evidently did not occur, as priors continue to be on record. The priory was, however, turned into a secular lordship for Thomas Erskine, Viscount Fentoun, in 1606. Among the owners of Restenneth following the Reformation was George Dempster of Dunnichen (1732-1818), who chose part of the choir as a burial site for his family. Also reported to have been buried in the Priory about 1327 is John Bruce, youngest son of Robert I, King of Scots and his 2nd wife Elizabeth de Burgh, who was the twin brother of David II of Scotland.The site was excavated in 1883 by William Galloway and Dr John Stuart.All except the tower is now in ruins, which are a Scheduled Ancient Monument.For the tourist, Restenneth Priory is just outside the medium-sized town of Forfar. It shares an access road with the Angus Archives. There is a short path from the closest parking area to the priory. While at the priory, the town and the roads nearby are not visible, so the fields and the medieval (or maybe earlier) architecture are the only things to be seen.

Kirkbuddo (Scots pronunciation: [ˌkərˈbʌdə]; Scottish Gaelic: Cair Bhuite) is a village in the county of Angus, Scotland, between the towns of Forfar and Carnoustie. Nearby lie the remains of a temporary Roman marching camp dating to the third century AD. A worn type II Pictish stone was found in the kirkyard there in the mid-twentieth century and has subsequently been donated to the Meffan institute in Forfar.
