Newcastle University

The University of Newcastle upon Tyne Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering (SAgE) is a faculty of Newcastle University. It was established in the city of Newcastle upon Tyne as the College of Physical Science in 1871, for the teaching of physical sciences, and was part of Durham University. It existed until 1937, when it joined the College of Medicine to form King's College, Durham. The Faculty is structured around four academic Schools, four Research Institutes and a number of Research Centres and Networks. The Faculty also leads Newcastle University's campus in Singapore.

Newcastle University Students' Union (NUSU) is the students' union of Newcastle University in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is an organisation with the intention of representing and providing services and welfare for the students of University of Newcastle upon Tyne. It was originally set up as the Union Society and changed to its present name in 2011. It is not affiliated with the National Union of Students (NUS). The Students' Union is run by seven sabbatical officers and ten part-time unpaid officer positions. It also employs around 300 people in ancillary roles including bar staff and entertainment organisers.

Culture Lab is an interdisciplinary research facility at Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Haymarket is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the Haymarket area of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network as a terminus station on 11 August 1980, following the opening of the first phase of the network, between Haymarket and Tynemouth via Four Lane Ends.

Haymarket is an area in the north of central Newcastle upon Tyne. The area has several transport hubs including Eldon Square bus station, Haymarket bus station and Haymarket Metro station. Haymarket features the facades of Newcastle Civic Centre, Newcastle University and Northumbria University. It is also the location of the Church of St Thomas the Martyr, a prominent city landmark. The area is home to various war memorials including The Response, 1914 by Goscombe John, described by Alan Borg, a former Director General of the Imperial War Museum as "one of the finest sculptural ensembles on any British monument." The major pedestrianised shopping street, Northumberland Street, meets Haymarket at its northern end.

Haymarket bus station is a bus station located in the Haymarket area of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is situated next to the Haymarket Metro station, by the northern end of Northumberland Street and almost adjacent to Newcastle University.

The Museum of Antiquities was an archaeological museum at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It opened in 1960 and in 2009 its collections were merged into the Great North Museum: Hancock.

Northern Stage is a theatre and producing theatre company based in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is surrounded by Newcastle University's city centre campus on King's Walk, opposite the students' union building. It hosts various local, national and international productions in addition to those produced by the Northern Stage company. Until the 2006 reopening, the theatre was known as the Newcastle Playhouse and is a registered charity. The complex hosts three stages. The capacity decreases, with stage one being the largest, having 447 seats. The complex also boasts a bar-restaurant, McKenna's at Northern Stage.

Newcastle University School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Housed in a Grade 2 listed building in the university quadrangle (built in 1913 to a design by WH Knowles and adjacent to the School of Fine Art by the same architect). Its history predates the establishment of the university.

The McCord Centre for Landscape is an interdisciplinary research centre based at Newcastle University, directed by Sam Turner. It is named after Norman McCord, emeritus professor of history at Newcastle University, a pioneer of aerial photography in north-east England. Research in the McCord Centre covers landscapes in the broadest sense, from the physical environment to intangible heritage, and includes archaeologists, historians, geographers, geoscientists and landscape architects. Although the McCord Centre is based in Newcastle, it has members around the world. The Centre promotes interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the complex relationships that create landscapes from early prehistory to present. The centre undertakes desk based assessments and surveys for bodies such as English Heritage, and Durham County, academic research, and has hosted several major international conferences.

Global Urban Research Unit (GURU) is a research centre established in 2002 at the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, Newcastle University, England.

The Centre for Software Reliability (CSR) is a distributed British organisation concerned with software reliability, including safety-critical issues. It consists of two sister organisations based at Newcastle University, UK. and City, University of London, London.Up until August 2016 the centre ran the Safety-Critical Systems Club (SCSC) and the Software Reliability & Metrics Club. Since August 2016 the Safety-Critical Systems Club has been run by the department of Computer Science at the University of York. The Club runs a number of events each year including the annual Safety-Critical Systems Symposium (SSS).CSR was founded in 1984 and has received UK and international research funding.
