Knock Iveagh (from Irish Cnoc Uíbh Eachach 'hill of Iveagh') is a hill near Rathfriland, County Down, Northern Ireland. It is topped by an ancient burial cairn and was part of a ritual landscape, associated with the Uí Eachach tribe. In the Middle Ages it was the inauguration site of the Magennis chiefs of Iveagh.

The A50 is a road in counties Armagh and Down in Northern Ireland. It starts in the town of Portadown and continues through Gilford, Lawrencetown, Banbridge, Katebridge, Moneyslane, Ballyward and Castlewellan, before arriving in the seaside town of Newcastle on the Irish Sea, located at the foot of Slieve Donard. The road has a graded junction with the main Dublin-Belfast A1 dual carriageway to the southeast of Banbridge. Corbet railway station was a railway station in the city of Corbet on the Great Northern Railway which ran from Banbridge to Castlewellan in Northern Ireland.

Ballievey Bridge spans the River Bann at Ballievey, near Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland. The original suspension bridge was from a design by James Dredge, Sr. Destroyed in 1988 under the weight of a lorry, it was the only one within the Dredge's Ulster group which was not a footbridge. A replacement bridge was erected thereafter.

Katesbridge is a small hamlet in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is within the townland of Shannaghan, just off the main route from Castlewellan to Banbridge, and 4.3 miles (7 km) north of Rathfriland. The River Bann flows by the hamlet. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 135 people. It lies within the Banbridge District. The hamlet is named after Kate McKay, who was born in Ballyroney in 1691 and later went to live with her grandmother who is said to have owned the house where the workmen lodged when building the 18th-century bridge. It is because of Kate's kindness the workmen named the bridge after her, and the hamlet became known as Katesbridge. The novelist Thomas Mayne Reid was born in Ballyroney in 1818.

Ballyroney Castle was a castle situated at Ballyroney, County Down, Northern Ireland. Originally constructed sometime in the 12th century as a motte and bailey castle, it was rebuilt by Justiciar of Ireland, John FitzGeoffrey in 1248.

Rathfriland Rangers Football Club is a Northern Irish intermediate football club, playing in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League.

Ballela is a small village and parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is about 5 miles (8.0 km) east of Banbridge, perched on top of one of the many drumlins that are common in the county. A number of prehistoric ringforts begird the village.

Rathfriland (from Irish Ráth Fraoileann, meaning 'ringfort of Fraoile') is a market town in County Down, Northern Ireland.

Rathfriland Castle (Irish: Caislean Ráth Fraoileann) is a ruined castle at Rathfriland, County Down, Northern Ireland. The castle was a square building of 3–4 storeys with a stone barrel vault at the first floor level to reduce the risk of fire and was one of the seats of the Magennis's, Lords of Iveagh. Most of it was pulled down by Mr. William Hawkins of London, after the rebellion of 1641, and the remainder destroyed by General Henry Ireton on Oliver Cromwell's orders. The castle was mainly built from greywacke and granite. Only the southern wall remains.
