Corpus Christi Army Depot

Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (IATA: NGP, ICAO: KNGP, FAA LID: NGP) is a United States Navy naval air base located six miles (10 km) southeast of the central business district (CBD) of Corpus Christi, in Nueces County, Texas.

The John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway is a paved highway located in Corpus Christi, Texas. The causeway crosses the Laguna Madre and connects North Padre Island with Flour Bluff on the Texas mainland.

Naval Air Technical Training Center Ward Island is a decommissioned United States Navy base located on Ward Island, just offshore from Corpus Christi, Texas. During World War II (WWII), this base provided highly classified airborne electronics maintenance training for many thousands of Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and Royal Air Force personnel.

Ward Island is a small body of land situated at the confluence of Corpus Christi Bay and Oso Bay and is part of the city of Corpus Christi, Texas. Most of Ward Island is now used by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. More correctly classed as a peninsula, Ward Island is connected to the Corpus Christi shoreline by about 1,500 ft (460 m) of wetland. It is roughly triangular in shape, some 5,000 ft (1,500 m) long across the front and 2,500 ft (760 m) average depth, giving approximately 240 acres (0.97 km²) in useful size, or 259 acres (1.04 km²) counting the wetland. The soil is clay, formed by erosion, contrasted to sand islands formed by deposition. Its maximum elevation is only about 15 ft (4.6 m) above the sea-level of Corpus Christi Bay. A causeway (Ocean Drive) connects the island to the Corpus Christi shore, then extends beyond the island to the opposite side of Oso Bay and the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi at Flour Bluff about 1.0 mi (1.6 km) away.

Chapman Field is located in Corpus Christi, Texas. The facility has both a baseball field, home to the Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders baseball team and a softball field, home to the Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders softball team. The facility was renamed after John and Louise Chapman before the beginning of the 2007 baseball season. Whataburger Field is used instead of Chapman Field for some baseball early season tournaments and also some big matchups (i.e. Texas A&M or Rice). Major renovations to both fields were made in 2011 and 2012. Renovations included new bleachers, new lighting for baseball, a new field surfaces, new irrigation, new bullpens, as well as windscreens around the fence. The baseball bleacher system was replaced and the old system was moved to the softball field.

Dugan Wellness Center, opened in January, 2009, is located on the campus of Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas. With 67,000 sq ft (6,200 m2), the center is the recreation home for students attending the university. In addition, the center has been the home of the NCAA Division I Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders women's volleyball team since it opened. The Islanders men's and women's basketball teams have used the venue as their home court for some games since opening. Other home games are at the off-campus American Bank Center The facility was named after Jack and Susie Dugan. The Dugans donated the lead gift of $1 million toward the building's construction cost $21 million cost in 2007. The ribbon cutting opening ceremony and first men's basketball game at the facility were held on January 24, 2009.

The Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge is a wildlife refuge in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Refuge is located on the western shore of Oso Bay, on Ennis Joslin Road, near the Pharaoh Valley subdivision.

Corpus Christi Bay is a scenic semi-tropical bay on the Texas coast found in San Patricio and Nueces counties, next to the major city of Corpus Christi. It is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by Mustang Island, and is fed by the Nueces River and Oso Creek from its western and southern extensions, Nueces Bay and Oso Bay. The bay is located approximately 136 miles (219 km) south of San Antonio, and 179 miles (288 km) southwest of Houston. Corpus Christi Bay has a rich history of human settlement along its shores that dates back millennia and is responsible for the growth of Corpus Christi, and the smaller ports of Ingleside and Portland. It is one of seven major estuaries along the Gulf Coast of Texas and supports a diverse collection of wildlife, attracting many tourists. The bay's abundance of petroleum and natural gas has attracted industry, and its strategic location on the Texas coast is ideal for military establishment.

Oso Creek is a creek in the U.S. state of Texas. It runs just south of Corpus Christi.

Sunrise Mall was a two-story, enclosed shopping mall in Corpus Christi, Texas. It is located at the intersection of Airline Rd. & S. Padre Island Drive. Current tenants include Planet Fitness, New Life Church (formerly The Summit Church), Freedom Fitness, and Little Woodrow's Bar.
