Silverwater Bridge is a concrete box girder bridge that spans the Parramatta River west of the central business district in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The bridge carries Silverwater Road (A6) over the river to link Silverwater in the south to Rydalmere and Ermington in the north.

Silverwater is a suburb in western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Silverwater is located 15 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district on the southern bank of the Parramatta River within the local government area of City of Parramatta.

St John Parish is one of the 57 parishes of Cumberland County, New South Wales, a cadastral unit for use on land titles. It is named after St John's Cathedral in Parramatta, New South Wales which opened in 1803, on which the civil parish is roughly centred. The parish is shaped like a "T", with the northern part stretching from Toongabbie to the western shore of Homebush Bay. The southern end is at Prospect Creek near Yennora. Woodville Road and Parramatta Road form the boundaries to the south-east. The Old Prospect Road is part of the boundary in the west. Historically and until the reorganisation of local government areas in 2016, St John Parish largely corresponded with the boundaries of the City of Parramatta. Since the 2016 reorganisation, the northern part of the parish (the horizontal stroke of the "T") is largely in the City of Parramatta, while the southern part is largely in Cumberland City Council. It includes the suburbs of Merrylands, Parramatta, Silverwater, Westmead, Fairfield East, Guildford and Wentworth Point.

Rydalmere ferry wharf is located on the northern side of the Parramatta River serving the Sydney suburb of Rydalmere.

Silverwater Prison Complex Conservation Area is a heritage-listed complex consisting of a historic house (Newington House) and various prison structures associated with what is now known as the Silverwater Correctional Complex, located at Holker Street, Silverwater, Cumberland Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by John Verge and Walter Liberty Vernon and built from 1829 to 1850. It is also known as Silverwater Correctional Centre, Mulawa Correctional Centre, Silverwater Gaol, Newington Estate, Silverwater State Hospital and State Hospital & Asylum for Women. The property is owned by Corrective Services NSW. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Newington House is a historic house in Silverwater, New South Wales, Australia and is located 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Parramatta. The house and chapel are situated on the southern bank of the Parramatta River and are now enclosed by the Silverwater Correctional Centre. With Elizabeth Bay House and Camden Park, it is considered to be one of the three great houses of the County of Cumberland.Newington is a substantial and intact example of a rural colonial villa, and demonstrates the quality of life of prominent citizens and families from early settlements. It is associated with a notable New South Wales family, being built for John Blaxland, whose entrepreneurial business activities were among the oldest in the colony, and whose brother, Gregory Blaxland, assisted in activities generally relative to the site. Its use since the occupation of the Blaxland family has reflected a number of social changes as the founding site of Newington College, and as an asylum, hospital, and prison administration building.

The Silverwater Correctional Complex, an Australian maximum and minimum security prison complex for males and females, is located in Silverwater, 21 km (13 mi) west of the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia. The complex is operated by Corrective Services NSW, an agency of the New South Wales Government Department of Communities and Justice. The complex comprises four separate facilities including Silverwater Correctional Centre (a minimum security prison for males); Silverwater Women's Correctional Centre (a maximum security institution for women and the major reception centre for female offenders in NSW); the Metropolitan Remand & Reception Centre (a maximum security correctional facility for males); and the Dawn de Loas Correctional Centre (a minimum security correctional centre for males).The complex accepts prisoners charged and convicted under both New South Wales and Commonwealth legislation, and serves as a reception prison for inmates on remand or pending classification.

Sandown Platform was a railway station in the then-industrial suburb of Camellia in Sydney, Australia, which opened 24 October 1892. The station was situated on the Sandown railway line adjacent to the Parramatta River and was the location for a container terminal as well as a refinery tanker loading facility. It was the terminus for electric train services on the Sandown line which commenced 10 August 1959.Passenger services for the Abattoirs line were operated by CPH railmotors operating from Sandown via Lidcombe until November 1984. Passenger services to Sandown ceased on 19 December 1991. The Sandown line officially closed on 1 July 2019, with a section of the corridor set aside for use as part of the Parramatta Light Rail.A signal box, the Steel Plate loading platform and sidings belonging to the refinery were located beyond Sandown. A siding branched off the line just before the platform.

Newington is a western suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 16 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of City of Parramatta. Newington is 2 km west of Wentworth Point, on the Parramatta River, and 1 km north-west of Sydney Olympic Park. It is best known as the location of the Athletes Village for the 2000 Summer Olympics and 2000 Summer Paralympics. The Athlete's Village was converted to residential apartments after the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Other apartments and free-standing houses have also been built since. A reserve opposite Newington Marketplace memorial features a complete roster of the Australian team at the 2000 Summer Olympics and 2000 Summer Paralympics.

George Kendall Riverside Park is a 27.2-hectare (67-acre) recreational park in Ermington, New South Wales, on the northern bank of the Parramatta River. The park is named after George Frederick Kendall, an alderman of the Ermington/Rydalmere Municipality from 1944–1948.

Cream of Tartar Works Platform was a railway station located on the Sandown railway line in the then-industrial suburb of Camellia in Sydney, Australia. The station opened 7 March 1927 and served the Australian Cream Tartar Company factory in Camellia. It closed in July 1959, the same year the Sandown line was electrified in August.Cream of Tartar was among a number of companies that had private sidings on the line.

Newington Armory is a heritage-listed former Royal Australian Navy armament depot, now used for tourism purposes, at Holker Street, Sydney Olympic Park, Cumberland Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1897 by the Royal Australian Navy. It is also known as Millennium Heritage Parklands Precinct, RAN Armament Depot Newington, Royal Australian Navy Armament Depot (RANAD), Newington Nature Reserve and Sydney Olympic Games. The property is owned by the Sydney Olympic Park Authority. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 14 January 2011.
