Susanna Farm is a historic home located at Dawsonville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is an L-shaped, 2+1⁄2-story frame dwelling house. The last major change occurred when the house was doubled in size and value by Benjamin F. Dyson in 1877–78, who renovated it in the Italianate style. Five outbuildings stand on the property, including a stone kitchen/slave quarters and meat house which are believed to be contemporary with the house, an 1870s frame bank barn, and 20th century farm buildings.The Susanna Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Valhalla, also known as Rosedale, is a historic home located at Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story house constructed of local Seneca sandstone, to which are attached a c. 1835 1+1⁄2-story log structure, and two small 20th-century one-story frame wings.Valhalla was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Old Chiswell Place, also known as Blue Plains, is a historic home and property located at Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland. The home is a frame, log, and brick structure built in three stages. In addition to the residence, there is a meathouse of log with an attached springhouse. There is a small log house probably used for storage with sandstone chips used between the logs. There is also an early corncrib made of frame and logs. It has the further significance of having been the home of three men distinguished in their period. George Frazier Magruder bought this farm in 1778 and moved from neighboring Prince George's County where he had been a fourth generation resident and planter.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Little Seneca Creek is an 14.0-mile-long (22.5 km) stream in Montgomery County, Maryland, roughly 18 miles (29 km) northwest of Washington, D.C.

The Seneca Historic District is a national historic district located at Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland. The district comprises 3,850 acres (1,560 ha) of federal, state, and county parkland and farmland in which 15 historic buildings are situated. The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, including Seneca Aqueduct (Aqueduct No. 1), Lock No. 24 (Riley's Lock), the adjacent lock house; as well as the Seneca Quarry and quarry masters house above the quarry also stand within the district and are also within Seneca Creek State Park. The 15 historic structures are surrounded by dependencies of various periods, in most cases dating from the period of the dwelling. There are slave quarters, smokehouses, springhouses, corn cribs, and tobacco barns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Friends Advice is a historic home and national historic district located at Boyds, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is an estate dominated by a main house of local sandstone in the impressive overall image of a Georgian plantation house. The earliest portion, the ca. 1806 Federal style block, sits on a stone foundation with a gable roof and gabled dormers. Later additions include a Colonial Revival-style block constructed in 1939–40; a Federal style block of the first quarter of the 19th century; and a frame block constructed in 1882 on the foundation of an 18th-century log structure. General Albert C. Wedemeyer (1897-1989) and his wife, whose family owned this property since the 18th century, used this estate as their permanent home throughout his military career and after his retirement in 1951, until his death in 1989.Friends Advice was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Poolesville is a U.S. town in the western portion of Montgomery County, Maryland. The population was 5,742 at the 2020 United States Census. It is surrounded by (but is technically not part of) the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, and is considered a distant bedroom community for commuters to Washington, D.C. The name of the town comes from the brothers John Poole, Sr. and Joseph Poole, Sr. who owned land and slaves in what is now Poolesville. Due to an historical anomaly, until 2010 the legal name of the town was "The Commissioners of Poolesville". Residents overwhelmingly voted to formally change the name to "The Town of Poolesville" in the November 2010 general election.

KPC was founded by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo and later given to Penor Rinpoche. KPC was Penor Rinpoche's first Dharma Center in the US.

It consists of 33 buildings of local architectural and historical significance including structures representing a diversity of styles, materials, and uses, and includes residential, ecclesiastical, and commercial architecture, as well as an assorted number of small domestic dependencies, such as dairies and smokehouses.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Seneca is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is located near the intersection of River Road and Seneca Creek, not far from the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal (C&O Canal) and Potomac River. Its history goes back before the American Revolutionary War and it thrived when the canal was operating—having several warehouses, mills, a store, a hotel, and a school. Fighting occurred in the area on more than one occasion during the American Civil War. The community declined as the C&O Canal declined. Today (2020), the community uses a Poolesville ZIP code, but is part of the Darnestown census-designated place. The Seneca schoolhouse is a museum, and nearby Riley's Lock and lock house are part of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park. The community is located near the Dierssen Wildlife Management Area and the McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area. Since 1978, Seneca and additional territory have been part of the Seneca Historic District.

Dowden's Luck is a historic house located at Poolesville, Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The main house is a 2+1⁄2-story, late Federal-style frame house. Major additions were made in 1855 and 1910. Also on the property are a one-story gable-roofed stone slave quarters, a one-story gable-roofed brick smokehouse, a stone spring house, and the foundations of two barns, all built during the 1824-1850 plantation period. An overgrown terraced garden in its original configuration as constructed around 1855 stands to the west of the house. Dowden's Luck was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
