Driehuis is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Velsen, and lies about 8 km north of Haarlem.

Sportclub Telstar Vrouwenvoetbal Noord-Holland is a Dutch women's football club based in Velsen. It is connected to SC Telstar. The teams home stadium is the 3,625 seater BUKO Stadion and its home colours are white. The women's team was established in 2011 and played in the top level Eredivisie and BeNe League. After the 2016–17 season the team relocated to Alkmaar and formed VV Alkmaar. In February 2022 media reported Telstar would restart in the Eredivisie the following season.

Sportpark Schoonenberg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsxoːnə(m)bɛr(ə)x]), branded as 711 Stadion for sponsorship reasons, is the home of Eerste Divisie club Telstar. It is located in Velsen-Zuid, Netherlands. It was opened in 1948, with minor renovations in 1999. The stadium, with a capacity of 5,200, consists of an all-seater east stand, a small terraced south stand, and an all-seater west stand. On the south stand are no seats. The latter stand was built in 2009 and has several built-in features, including new changing rooms, offices, and improved sponsor seating. Since the first of Januari 2021, BUKO is the main sponsor of the football team, and subsequently the stadium was named BUKO Stadion. In June 2023, online casino 711 became the new sponsor of Telstar, and the stadium was renamed 711 Stadion.

It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star for the period 2006–present.GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points.Head chef of De Vrienden van Jacob is Alain Alders.De restaurant is part of the country estate and hotel Duin en Kruidberg. In 2008, the restaurant was closed for five months due to extensive renovations to the restaurant and the hotel. The estate is over a 100 years old. Originally it was a conference centre and holiday resort for staff of ABN AMRO. In 2002 the hotel was opened up for the general public and restaurant De Vrienden van Jacob established.

Duin en Kruidberg is a stately home in Santpoort, near Haarlem, the Netherlands. Kruidberg started as a summer house for rich merchants from Amsterdam, then it became a hunting lodge of the prince of Orange, the future king-stadholder, William III (1650–1702). The plans for the Dutch invasion of England were drawn up here, which culminated in the Glorious Revolution of 1688. The estate merged with neighbouring Duin en Berg into Duin en Kruidberg in the 19th century. The current house was constructed by Jacob Theodoor Cremer around 1900 in Dutch Renaissance Revival architecture. The Cremers hosted royalty at the house and held hunting events as well. It was and is one of the largest country houses in the Netherlands. After the Second World War, it became a holiday resort for the employees of a large Dutch bank, ABN AMRO. Later, it was opened for the general public as well. Today, the country house is a hotel restaurant. Most of the surrounding estate is owned by Vereniging Natuurmonumenten and is open for the general public.

Velsen-Zuid is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Velsen, and lies about 9 km north of Haarlem. Velsen-Zuid developed around the church founded by Willibrord in the 8th century. Between 1865 and 1876, the North Sea Canal was dug and Velsen became two settlements.The home of Telstar, a team competing in the second tier of Dutch football, the Eerste Divisie, is located in Velsen-Zuid. Their stadium is known as the BUKO Stadion.

Santpoort-Noord (Dutch pronunciation: [sɑntpoːrt noːrt]) or North Santpoort is a village in the municipality of Velsen in the Dutch province of North Holland. It lies about 6 km (3.7 mi) north of Haarlem. Santpoort developed in the dunes near the Brederode Castle. In 1870, a flower bulb settlement developed near Santpoort. In 1926, the settlement was divided in Santpoort-Noord and Santpoort-Zuid. Santpoort became a commuter's town in the 20th century.

Brederode Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Brederode), also called the Ruins of Brederode (Dutch: Ruïne van Brederode), is located near Santpoort-Zuid. The castle was founded in the second half of the 13th century by William I van Brederode (1215–1285). William was a descendant of the lords van Teylingen, who were related to the counts of Holland. The castle formed part of the high lordship Brederode, which had been given in loan in the 13th century to the lords of Brederode by the count of Holland. The name Brederode is a reference to a wooded area called Brede Roede (literally: broad wood), that was cleared and on which the castle was built. The castle was at first not more than a tower, but around 1300 Dirk II van Brederode had the tower pulled down and replaced with a proper castle.
