Marina Reservoir

Marina Channel is a waterway in southern Singapore that connects the Kallang Basin in the north and Marina Bay in the west to the Singapore Straits in the south. Formed as a result of land reclamation in the 1980s, the Marina Channel effectively shifted Singapore's southern coastline further southwards from the Kallang Basin area. Marina Channel serves to separate Marina East and Kallang in the east from Marina South in the west. Both sides are connected by Singapore's tallest bridge, the Benjamin Sheares Bridge. The Marina Barrage that opened on 1 November 2008 dams up the Marina Channel as well as various other rivers and canals to form the Marina Reservoir, Singapore's first and only reservoir in the downtown.

Operation Rimau was an attack on Japanese shipping in Singapore Harbour, carried out by an Allied commando unit Z Special Unit, during World War II using Australian built Hoehn military MKIII folboats. It was a follow-up to the successful Operation Jaywick which had taken place in September 1943, and was again led by Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Lyon of the Gordon Highlanders, an infantry regiment of the British Army. Originally part of a much larger operation called Operation Hornbill, the aim of Rimau was to sink Japanese shipping by paddling the folboats in the dark and placing limpet mines on ships. It was originally intended that motorised semi-submersible canoes, known as "Sleeping Beauties", would be used to gain access to the harbour, however, they resorted to folboats. After the raiding party's discovery by local Malay authorities, a total of thirteen men (including raid commander Lyon) were killed during battles with the Japanese military at a number of island locations or were captured and died of their wounds in Japanese captivity. A group of ten commandos were transported to Outram Road Jail in Singapore after capture by the Japanese, were tried with perfidy and espionage in a Japanese court and executed on 7 July 1945.

Operation Jaywick was a special operation undertaken in World War II. In September 1943, 14 commandos and sailors from the Allied Z Special Unit raided Japanese shipping in Singapore Harbour, sinking six ships.

The Gardens by the Bay is a nature park spanning 101 hectares (250 acres) in the Central Region of Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden (in Marina South), Bay East Garden (in Marina East) and Bay Central Garden (in Downtown Core and Kallang). The largest of the gardens is the Bay South Garden at 54 hectares (130 acres) designed by Grant Associates. Its Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world.Gardens by the Bay was part of the nation's plans to transform its "Garden City" to a "City in a Garden", with the aim of raising the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city. First announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at Singapore's National Day Rally in 2005, Gardens by the Bay was intended to be Singapore's premier urban outdoor recreation space and a national icon. Being a popular tourist attraction in Singapore, the park received 6.4 million visitors in 2014, while topping its 20 millionth visitor mark in November 2015 and over 50 million in 2018.

Marina City Park was a park in Singapore formerly located at Marina South, with entrances at Marina Boulevard and Marina Park. It is about 26.2 ha. Standing on reclaimed land, this park was planned to be a premier park of Singapore's proposed "city of the 21st century", as part of Singapore's vision to be a "City in a Garden". The park was closed on 1 June 2007 to make way for the Gardens by the Bay.

Founders' Memorial MRT station is a future underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Thomson–East Coast line in Marina East planning area, Singapore. Construction began in 2019, and the station is scheduled to open in tandem with the Founders' Memorial in 2027. The station will be located within the Bay East Garden of Gardens by the Bay, next to the Founders' Memorial.

The Founders' Memorial is a memorial under planning within the Bay East Garden of the Gardens by the Bay to commemorate the founding fathers of Singapore as well as to cover the country's contemporary history from after World War II to its first few decades of independence.On 9 March 2020, a collaboration between Kengo Kuma (Japan) and K2LD Architects (Singapore) won the international architectural competition to design the memorial. Initially expected to open in 2025, the memorial is now scheduled to open in 2027 due to the COVID–19 pandemic.

The Singapore Flyer is an observation wheel at the Downtown Core district of Singapore. Officially opened on 15 April 2008, it has 28 air-conditioned capsules, each able to accommodate 28 passengers, and incorporates a three-story terminal building. The flyer has made numerous appearances in media and popular culture that features Singapore. The Flyer has an overall height of 165 metres (541 ft) and was the world's tallest Ferris wheel until the 167.6 m (550 ft) High Roller, which is 2.6 m (9 ft) taller than the Flyer.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit (otherwise known as the Singapore Street Circuit) is a street circuit around Marina Bay, Singapore, encompassing the planning areas of Downtown Core (Turns 4 to 23) and Kallang (Turns 1 to 3). It is the venue for the Singapore Grand Prix. The track is 5.063 km (3.146 mi) long in a harbourside location similar in style to the Circuit de Monaco and the Valencia Street Circuit. The circuit is designed by KBR, Inc., a modification of the original one first proposed by Hermann Tilke. The circuit has a FIA Grade 1 license. The circuit holds a unique record of having at least one safety car appearance in every race to date. There has been a total of 21 safety car deployments in twelve races.

The Helix Bridge, officially The Helix, and previously known as the Double Helix Bridge, is a pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bay area in Singapore. It was officially opened on 24 April 2010 at 9 pm; however, only half was opened due to ongoing construction at the Marina Bay Sands. It is located beside the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and is accompanied by a vehicular bridge, known as the Bayfront Bridge. The entire bridge was opened on 18 July 2010 to complete the entire walkway around Marina Bay.

Youth Olympic Park is Singapore's first art park. It is located at Raffles Avenue, at the junction of Raffles Avenue and Bayfront Bridge.

The Marina Barrage is a dam in Singapore built at the confluence of five rivers, across the Marina Channel between Marina East and Marina South. First conceptualised in 1987 by the late Lee Kuan Yew, the Barrage started construction on 22 March 2005, and was officially opened on 31 October 2008 as Singapore's fifteenth reservoir. It provides water storage, flood control and recreation. It won a Superior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers in 2009.
