Capel railway station

Capel St. Mary – commonly known as Capel – is a village in Suffolk, England. It is about 6 miles (10 km) south-west of Ipswich and 2 miles (3 km) from Dedham Vale, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Samford Rural District was a rural district within the administrative county of East Suffolk between 1894 and 1974. It was created out of the earlier Samford rural sanitary district. It was named after the historic hundred of Samford, whose boundaries it closely matched, containing the same parishes. Under the East Suffolk County Review Order of 1934, the only changes made were a revision of the boundary with the county borough of Ipswich. This boundary was revised again in 1952. Under the Local Government Act 1972, Samford Rural District was abolished in 1974, and its area became part of the district of Babergh.

Bentley is a village and civil parish in the Babergh district of Suffolk, England, about 6 miles (10 km) southwest of Ipswich. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 776.Bentley has a Church of England parish church, a Reformed Baptist church, a Church of England primary school, a pub, a Village Hall and a riding school. A community owned village shop opened in the summer of 2016.Bentley has a parish council. It has also a forum called Bentley Free Speech that comments on matters relating to the parish council and other village issues. There also an alternative news site called Bentley News, which is managed by a local resident. The Eastern Union Railway was built through the parish and opened on 15 July 1846. Bentley railway station was about 1⁄2 mile (800 m) east of the village, and served the area until British Railways closed it in 1966. The station was a junction between 1847 and 1965 for the Hadleigh branch line. The branch line also had a short-lived station called Bentley Church (1847-1853).The main line railway is now (2016) known as the Great Eastern Main Line.

Copdock and Washbrook is a civil parish in the Babergh district in the county of Suffolk, England. It covers the villages of Copdock and Washbrook, as well as the hamlets of Coles Green, Mace Green and Washbrook Street. In 2006 the parish had an estimated population of 1,130. The population was measured at 1,114 in the 2011 Census. It is in the Belstead Brook electoral division of Suffolk County Council.

Dodnash Priory was a small Augustinian priory located in Bentley, Suffolk, England, near the village's boundary with East Bergholt. It was situated close to Dodnash brook, which flows into the River Stour.

Old London Road is a cricket ground in Copdock, Suffolk. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1847, when the Gentlemen of Suffolk played the Gentlemen of Norfolk. The ground hosted its first Minor Counties Championship match in 1992 when Suffolk played Norfolk. From 1992 to 2006, the ground hosted 5 Minor Counties Championship matches and 8 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches, the last of which saw Suffolk play Norfolk.The ground has also hosted a single List-A match between Suffolk and Denmark in the 2002 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which was played in 2001.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home of Copdock & Old Ipswichian Cricket Club that plays in the East Anglian Premier Cricket League as of 2012.

Bentley railway station, also known as Bentley Junction between 1849 and 1878, was located in Bentley, Suffolk on the Great Eastern Main Line. It opened in 1846 and became a junction in 1847 when the Hadleigh Railway opened. The station was closed in 1966.

Bentley Church railway station was located in Suffolk, the village of Bentley. It was situated between the stations of Hadleigh and Manningtree, 1+1⁄4 miles (2.0 km) northeast of Bentley Station. It opened in 1846 and closed in 1853.

All Saints Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Little Wenham, Suffolk, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It stands in an isolated position close to Little Wenham Hall, about 0.6 miles (1 km) to the northwest of Capel St. Mary.

Wenham Parva is a civil parish in Suffolk, England. It covers the village of Little Wenham (whose ancient name it takes) and the hamlet of Wenham Grange. Located in Babergh district, it had a population of 20 in 2005, making it the joint-least populated parish in Suffolk alongside South Cove, Wangford and Wordwell. At the 2011 Census the population had increased to 185. The parish contains the Wenham Thicks nature reserve, which is a Scheduled Monument due to its Ancient Woodland. The defunct Hadleigh branch line ran through the centre of the parish.
