Scruton is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. It is 4 miles (6 km) west of Northallerton. According to the 2001 census the village had a population of 442, decreasing to 424 at the 2011 census.

Little Langton is a hamlet and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. The population of the hamlet was estimated at 50 in 2015. As the population remained less than 100 at the 2011 census, details were included in the civil parish of Thrintoft.

Royal Air Force Leeming or more simply RAF Leeming is a Royal Air Force station located near Leeming, North Yorkshire, England. It was opened in 1940 and was jointly used by the RAF and the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Between 1950 and 1991, it operated mostly as a training base with Quick Reaction Force (QRF) Panavia Tornado F3 fighters based there in the latter stages of the Cold War and into the early 21st century. Since 2006, it has become the home of the deployable RAF communications cadre (No. 90 Signals Unit RAF) and the home of No. 135 Expeditionary Air Wing.

Thrintoft is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated close to the River Swale, 3 miles (5 km) west of Northallerton. Thrintoft is mentioned in the Domesday Book as being in the possession of Picot of Lascelles. One of his descendants, Roger de Lascelles, gifted the village to St Mary's Abbey in York around 1146. The name derives from Old Norse and is registered in the Domesday Book as Tirnetofte. It is believed to mean the thorn-bush by (or in) the field. Historically in the parish of Ainderby Steeple, which lies 1-mile (1.6 km) to the south, it became its own parish in 1866 and now contains the hamlet of Little Langton. Whilst the parish has a population of 185, North Yorkshire County Council estimated that the population of the village was 140 at the 2011 census and remained at that number in 2015. The village is recorded as having a corn mill in 1539, which led to the stream flowing south west through the settlement into the River Swale being named Mill Beck. The chapel of St Mary Magdalen, now a barn, was built during the 13th to 15th centuries. It was endowed in 1253 as a chantry chapel connected to Jervaulx Abbey and is a grade II* listed building. The chapel is the only surviving building from Thrintoft Grange. The village has a pub, The New Inn.

Leeming Bar is a village in the civil parish of Aiskew and Leeming Bar, in North Yorkshire, England. The village lay on the original Great North Road (Dere Street) before being bypassed. It is now home to a large industrial estate and the main operating site of the Wensleydale Railway. It is in the historic North Riding of Yorkshire.

Leeming Bar railway station is a railway station in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire, England. It is the penultimate eastern rail passenger station of the Wensleydale Railway, though the line continues towards Northallerton. Trains are timed to link in with Dales and District service buses to Northallerton to connect with the National Rail network.

Londonderry is a village near the Yorkshire Dales, England situated 4 miles (6 kilometres) south-east of Bedale, almost on the A1 road. It was part of the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire and is in the historic North Riding of Yorkshire. It is named after the Marquesses of Londonderry, who took their name from County Londonderry, now in Northern Ireland, and were colliery owners in this area of England. Londonderry Lodge was a former Transport Café in the village. The café is now closed, having served the traffic on the A1 road for 100 years. The building has been listed as Grade II since 1966. With the upgrading of the A1 to A1(M) standard, the junction with the A1 was diverted away from Londonderry (with even the new service road, the A6055, taking a route west of the new road as opposed to going through the hamlet). As a consequence of this, traffic has been lost from the hamlet, lorry traffic especially so. A noted refuelling service station have moved their business from Londonderry to Leeming Bar because of this traffic shift.

Morton-on-Swale is a large village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. It lies on the A684 road about 4 miles west of the County Town of Northallerton. It is less than 1 mile (1.6 km) to the village of Ainderby Steeple. As the name suggests it lies on the River Swale.

Fencote or Great Fencote is a village in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England. It is about 1 mi (1.6 km) east of the A1(M) motorway. It has a smaller village nearby called Little Fencote. Kirkby Fleetham lies to the north.
