The Moore Haven Heights Historic District, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, is a 100 acres (40 ha) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The listing included 445 contributing buildings.The district runs between Bent Ave. on the west, the eastern side of Central Ave. on the east, W. 8th Ave. on the north, and W. Pershing Boulevard on the south.According to the state of Wyoming, the district was determined "eligible as a distinct and cohesive residential area integrally associated with and representative of the significant trends that contributed to the development of the City of Cheyenne from the early twentieth century through the late 1950s. As conceived and carried out, Moore Haven Heights represented an upscale residential district constructed with well-built brick homes of a certain value with similar architectural styles to present a homogeneous appearance. Strict covenants assured that substantial brick homes were built and lots were restricted to single-family dwellings with a garage. As a result, Moore Haven Heights became an established upper-middle class neighborhood. / The district is also nominated due to the remarkable physical integrity of the residences, which reflect the changes in popular architecture in America. From the Tudor brick in the 1920s and 1930s to the one-story Ranch homes built during the 1940s and 1950s. Thus, the predominant Tudor style homes of the 1920s and 1930s gave way to the new architecture, especially after World War II. Today, a drive through the neighborhood from south to north clearly reveals the difference in architecture, lot size, and landscaping."It includes works by architects and builders including Frederick Hutchinson Porter and William H. Dubois.

Storey Gymnasium, also known as Cheyenne High School Gymnasium, was built in 1950 on the campus of Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States. The brick gymnasium was designed by Cheyenne architect Frederic Hutchinson Porter to include additional functions associated with the school's ROTC program, with an armory, rifle range and drill halls in addition to classrooms, shops and music spaces. The contractor was Loren Hancock, who built it at a cost of $646,611.66. It was named for William Storey, a member of the school Board of Trustees. When East High School was built in 1965 the facility was shared between East and Central.The two-story brick building measures about 240 feet (73 m) by 180 feet (55 m). It features plain surfaces and uninterrupted horizontal lines without ornamentation beyond horizontal brick features in the upper portion. The center section houses a gymnasium illuminated by glass block windows set in a clerestory. It seated 4,500 for basketball when it first opened and is still in use for sporting events, circuses, graduation ceremonies, and other special events. Storey Gymnasium was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 22, 2005.In September of 2016, the gymnasium seating was replaced with all black seats.

The Cheyenne High School at 2810 House Avenue in Cheyenne, Wyoming is a Late Gothic Revival-style building which was built in 1921. It has also been known as Central High School and as Laramie County School District No.1 Administration Building and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.It is a three-story Collegiate Gothic style building which is 250 by 220 feet (76 m × 67 m) in plan. Its walls are reinforced concrete with brick faces. It was designed by architect William Dubois and built by contractor John W. Howard.The school district served was eventually split up. The Wyoming State Library is the official state library agency of Wyoming located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It is a department under Wyoming's Department of Administration & Information. The State Librarian as of 2020 is Jamie Markus.The State Library maintains a Telework Lab for state employees. They also maintain the WYLD network of member libraries within the state which allows resource sharing. They sponsor an annual Wyoming Letters About Literature contest for Wyoming students in grades 4-12.

Deming Elementary School is an elementary school in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It is part of the Laramie County School District Number 1. The school was designed by Frederick Hutchinson Porter and built in 1945. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.According to its NRHP nomination, it was deemed significant for "its direct association with the growth of education in Cheyenne" and "as an example of Art Deco architecture with elements of the International Style in an educational building and as the work of a master architect, Frederick Hutchinson Porter." The building "is a substantial brick masonry structure built with community pride and permanency in mind, and which incorporates the standard designs advocated by early twentieth century educational reformers."

It is owned by the Cheyenne Regional Airport Board.Cheyenne Regional Airport is the home of Cheyenne Air National Guard Base, the main operating base for the Wyoming Air National Guard (WyANG) and the Wyoming Army National Guard (WARNG).

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens (9 acres, 3.6 ha) are located in Lions Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with an associated High Plains Arboretum located five miles (8 km) northwest of Cheyenne at an elevation of 6,200 feet (1,900 m). The gardens began as a vision in 1977 to build a non-profit, solar heated greenhouse. Today, the 6,800 square foot (630 m2) conservatory consists of three greenhouses. The first is filled with tropical plants, herb and cacti gardens and a waterfall pond filled with Koi fish. The second is used primarily for growing vegetables, the third is focused on propagation of bedding plants and flowers for the botanic garden grounds and all flowers for the Cheyenne park system. Outside are many gardens featuring many flowers and cacti.

The Churchill Public School, also known as Churchill Elementary School, is a historic school located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA. Built in 1911, it is the oldest surviving public school in Cheyenne. The school is named for James Otis Churchill, Cheyenne's superintendent of schools for nearly two decades. The prominent Cheyenne architect William Dubois gave the school a Prairie design with an American Foursquare plan. It was the first of several schools designed by Dubois in Cheyenne. The two-story brick buildinghas a stepped parapet along its flat roof.The school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Lakeview Historic District is a residential historic district in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The neighborhood was one of Cheyenne's original neighborhoods when the city was platted in 1870; most of the homes in the district were built between 1880 and 1930. Most of the neighborhood's residents were working-class, and many of them worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. Before 1900, most homes built in the district had simple Italianate, Queen Anne, or vernacular designs. American Foursquare and bungalow houses became popular in the 20th century as those styles gained prominence nationally.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 5, 1996. It includes the Moreton Frewen House, which is separately listed on the National Register.

The Mt. Sinai Synagogue in Cheyenne, Wyoming was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. Its original building was begun in 1915, and was the first permanent Jewish house of worship in the state of Wyoming.The synagogue was founded by Eastern European and German Jews, with the assistance of the Homestead Acts and the Jewish Agricultural Society. The synagogue moved in 1951 to its current location.

The Wyoming House of Representatives is the lower house of the Wyoming State Legislature. There are 60 Representatives in the House, representing an equal number of single-member constituent districts across the state, each with a population of at least 9,000. The House convenes at the Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne. Members of the House serve two year terms without term limits. Term limits were declared unconstitutional by the Wyoming Supreme Court in 2004, overturning a decade-old law that had restricted Representatives to six terms (twelve years).The current Speaker of the House is Eric Barlow.

There are 30 Senators in the Senate, representing an equal number of constituencies across Wyoming, each with a population of at least 17,000. The Senate meets at the Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne. Members of the Senate serve four year terms without term limits. Term limits were declared unconstitutional by the Wyoming Supreme Court in 2004, overturning a decade-old law that had restricted Senators to three terms (twelve years). Like other upper houses of state and territorial legislatures and the federal U.S. Senate, the Wyoming Senate can confirm or reject gubernatorial appointments to the state cabinet, commissions, boards, or justices to the Wyoming Supreme Court.
