Parham railway station

Parham is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located seven miles north of Woodbridge, in 2005 it had a population of 300, reducing to 263 at the 2011 census and according to the 2011 census there were 129 males and 134 females living at this time.The flint-built parish church of St Mary, though restored in 1886, dates from the late 14th Century and was likely built for William de Ufford. The Rood screen is from the 15th Century. Parham is located on the B1116. William Willoughby, 1st Baron Willoughby of Parham is interred in the church, too. Parham Airfield Museum is located nearby. Parham railway station, on the Framlingham Branch, was shut to passenger traffic in November 1952. Between 1870 and 1872 John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer visited Parham and wrote the following as an entry for the parish.PARHAM, a village and a parish in Plomesgate district, Suffolk. The village stands on the river Ore, adjacent to the Framlingham branch of the East Suffolk railway, 2¼ miles S S E of Framlingham; and has a station on the railway, and a post-office under Wickham-Market. The parish comprises 2, 212 acres.

Parham Old Hall, also known as Moat Hall, is a moated site and historic medieval mansion close to the village of Parham, in Suffolk, England. Closely associated with the Barons Willoughby of Parham, it is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England and includes the remains of a formal garden. The site is a scheduled monument with remains of a 15th- and 16th-century hall on its central island. A gateway that featured heraldic shields of the Willoughbys was dismantled and shipped to America in 1926. There is in the locality another unconnected building known as Parham New Hall.

Hacheston is a village and a civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk. The population of the parish at the 2011 census was 345.It is located on the B1116 road between the towns of Wickham Market and Framlingham. Hacheston has a church and a village hall. Hacheston Halt railway station was closed in 1952. Glevering Hall is a historic house and estate within the parish which was built in 1794 by Chaloner Arcedeckne, MP. Glevering Hall became a Grade II* listed building on 25 October 1951.

Hacheston Halt railway station was a station located in Hacheston, Suffolk situated on the Framlingham Branch.The branch was opened in 1859, but Hacheston Halt was not opened until 1922 in an attempt by the Great Eastern Railway to improve the passenger receipts on the branch. Hacheston Halt was a very basic station and did not even possess a platform so passengers had to use a ladder to get on and off the trains that called at the station. The station was served by trains that operated between Framlingham and Wickham Market; Withdrawal of passenger services in November, 1952.

Deben Mill is a water mill on the River Deben located on the boundary between the civil parishes of Wickham Market and Hacheston, in Suffolk, England. It is a Grade II* listed building, having been listed on 16 March 1966.The earliest record of the mill dates from 1701.

Cransford Meadow is a 4.6-hectare (11-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Cransford in Suffolk.This unimproved grassland site has a rich variety of flora. There are grasses such as creeping bent, meadow foxtail, sweet vernal-grass, crested dog's tail, perennial rye-grass and rough-stalked meadow-grass. It is one of only two sites in the county for ladies mantle Alchemilla filicaulis vestita. The site is private land with no public access.

Marlesford is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 233.

Framlingham railway station was located in Framlingham, Suffolk, UK and was the terminus station on the Framlingham Branch. It opened on 1 June 1859 and closed to passengers in 1952, and to freight in 1965. The first company to operate trains to the station was the Eastern Counties Railway, which had taken over from the East Suffolk Railway Company that built the branch line. Regular passenger services were withdrawn in November 1952. Subsequently occasional special passenger trains used the line until the goods train services were withdrawn on 19 April 1965. 1963 The station dealt with significant goods traffic until the 1950s and also had a small single tracked engine shed where the branch engine was kept overnight. This was a sub shed belonging to the Ipswich Locomotive District and on 1 January 1922 GER Class C32 (later LNER F3) 2-4-2T no 1066 was allocated there.
