Aviation Nation, sometimes referred to as America's Air Show, is the annual award-winning air show of the United States Air Force (USAF). The show is hosted at Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas, Nevada in November of each year. Being held at Nellis means that the USAF Thunderbirds display team usually perform at this air show at their home base as their last show of the year. Since Nellis is the leading USAF combat training center, the show is able to feature the newest Air Force aircraft like the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lighting II. The air show is a three-day event and is open to the public for the last two days. Guests who are unable to normally access the base can park at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and ride a free shuttle bus to the base tarmac to view aircraft static displays, tour some aircraft, visit vending booths, and watch aerial demonstrations.

Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center is an American military hospital owned and operated by the United States Air Force. It is located on Nellis Air Force Base in Clark County, Nevada and is run by the 99th Medical Group (MDG). Members of the 99th Medical Group run the 50-bed medical treatment facility. The Air Force provides executive oversight of the facility, staffs all outpatient activities/clinics and inpatient beds for Department of Defense (DoD) beneficiaries. Veterans Administration (VA) patients also have privileges at the hospital if referred by the VA. Fully integrated into the Clark County emergency medical services (EMS) system, Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC) is the only hospital and only trauma center in northeast Las Vegas. The level III trauma center is the first Air Force medical facility to treat civilian critical care and trauma patients arriving by ambulance.

The Nellis Solar Power Plant is a 14-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power station located within Nellis Air Force Base in Clark County, Nevada, northeast of Las Vegas. The power plant was inaugurated in a ceremony on December 17, 2007, with Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons activating its full operation. On average, it has since generated 32 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually and supplied more than 25% of the power used at the base.Occupying 140 acres (57 ha) of land leased from the Air Force at the northeastern corner of the base, this ground-mounted solar system employs an advanced sun tracking system, designed and deployed by SunPower. The system contains approximately 70,000 solar panels, and the peak power generation capacity of the plant is approximately 13 MWAC. This means the ratio of average to peak output, or capacity factor, of this plant is around 22%. The energy generated will support more than 12,000 military and civilians at Nellis who are responsible for Air Force advanced combat training, tactics development and operational testing. Construction began on April 23, 2007, and operation of the first 5 MW began on October 12, 2007.

KDWN (720 AM) is a commercial radio station in Las Vegas, Nevada, owned and operated by Audacy, Inc., which is currently silent. The station pronounces its call letters as "K-Dawn". The station's studios are located in the unincorporated Clark County area of Spring Valley. Programming is now heard on 250-watt FM translator station K268CS at 101.5 MHz. KDWN aired a talk radio format. It ran several nationally syndicated conservative talk hosts, along with local shows, most of which are brokered programming. National hosts included Brian Kilmeade, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin. Other hours were devoted to money, health, real estate and sports. In most cases, the local hosts paid for their time on the air and were permitted to run their own advertising. Most hours on weekdays began with world and national news from Fox News Radio. A local staff provided Nevada news, weather and traffic. Weather coverage was supplied by NBC Network affiliate KSNV. KDWN's original 50,000-watt transmitter was on Galleria Drive in Henderson, and was nondirectional in the day and used three inline towers to produce a directional night signal nulled toward WGN on the same channel in Chicago. In 2020, it moved to a new site shared with KXST on North Sloan Lane in North Las Vegas. KDWN broadcast with 25,000 wats during daytime hours and 7,500 watts at night, still protecting WGN with an asymmetrical three-tower pattern. While the old nighttime signal could be heard throughout most of the Western United States, north into Canada and south into Mexico., the new signal is more economical, continuing to cover the same metro with less spent power. KDWN also broadcast using HD radio technology and is heard on the HD3 digital subchannel of co-owned KMXB in Henderson. KDWN was Southern Nevada's primary entry point station for the Emergency Alert System. KDWN, along with KXST, ceased operations on March 2, 2023.

The Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the unincorporated areas of Clark County, Nevada, United States. The cities of Las Vegas, Boulder City, North Las Vegas, Henderson and Mesquite each have their own fire department, but emergency management is provided by the county government.

The 2004 Bridgestone 400 was the twelfth round of the 2004 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season, held on September 25, 2004 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. Patrick Carpentier won the pole, the fifth and final pole of his Champ Car career. Sébastien Bourdais won the race.

The IZOD IndyCar World Championship Presented by Honda was an IndyCar Series race on the 1.5-mile (2.4 km) Las Vegas Motor Speedway, held from 1996 to 2000, and again in 2011. It was first known as the Las Vegas 500k. The Champ Car World Series held a race at the track during the 2004 and 2005 seasons as doubleheaders with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and a street race was held in Las Vegas at the Fremont Street Experience in 2007.

The Florence McClure Women's Correctional Center (FMWCC, originally the Southern Nevada Women's Correctional Facility) is a state prison for women in North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. All custody levels (minimum, medium and maximum) are housed there. It is operated by the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC). It houses Nevada's female death row.

Basic Food Flavors, Inc. is a private company based in North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Established in 1980, they have developed a line of hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP), soy sauce and soy base products. It produces 120 varieties of HVP which are used in various products including chips, soups, dressings and snack foods. A private company which does not make financial information public, its annual sales have been estimated as between $20 and $50 million.On March 4, 2010 the United States Food and Drug Administration announced it was conducting an investigation after a customer of Basic Food Flavors reported finding Salmonella in one production lot of HVP. Affected bulk, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook HVP products were recalled in the U.S. and Canada. The recall resulted in 177 products being removed from grocery shelves.About 1990, the company moved to Nevada from Pomona, California, complaining that California's economic regulations were too strict and expensive.

Sunrise Mountain is located east of Las Vegas in Clark County, Nevada. Even though Sunrise Mountain is over 3.3 miles (5.3 km) NNW of higher peak Frenchman Mountain many people in the Las Vegas Valley refer to Frenchman Mountain as Sunrise Mountain since the sun rises from behind it. This confusion dates back many years and the National Geodetic Survey bench mark placed in 1947 on the summit of Frenchman Mountain is designated "Sunrise". During World War II the U.S. Army maintained an airway beacon on the summit and as of 2007, remains of the tower could still be found.Local conservationists have proposed the area, along with Gypsum Cave and Frenchman Mountain, be protected as a national monument.

Eldorado High School is a public high school in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The school is a part of the Clark County School District, located in Sunrise Manor, an unincorporated area on the northeast part of the Las Vegas Valley, south of Nellis Air Force Base. Its team mascot is the Sundevils and its school colors are maroon and gold.

The Las Vegas Nevada Temple is the 43rd operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The temple was announced by church leaders in April 1984.
