Medfield State Hospital, originally the Medfield Insane Asylum, is a historic former psychiatric hospital complex at 45 Hospital Road in Medfield, Massachusetts, United States. The asylum was established in 1892 as the state's first facility for dealing with chronic mental patients. The college-like campus was designed by William Pitt Wentworth and developed between 1896 and 1914. After an era dominated by asylums built using the Kirkbride Plan, Medfield Insane Asylum was the first asylum built using the new Cottage Plan layout, where instead of holding patients in cells, they would be integrated into a small community and work a specific job. It was formally renamed "Medfield State Hospital" in 1914.At its height the complex included 58 buildings, on a property of some 1.4 sq mi (3.6 km2), and a capacity of 2,200 patients. It raised its own livestock and produce, and generated its own heat, light and power. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, the property was closed in April 2003 and the buildings shuttered. The grounds have been restored, and reopened to the public and are open every day from sun up to sundown. It has been used as a filming location for thriller/horror motion pictures such as The New Mutants, Shutter Island, and The Box. As of July 2012, The Clark Building was demolished. Local Medfield Police now patrol the facility. Trespassing is strictly forbidden past dark and until sunrise. Within the grounds of the hospital lies the Medfield State Hospital Cemetery which has 841 gravesites. This cemetery was opened from 1918 until 1988. Originally, only numbers were on the graves in this cemetery until a Boy Scout from Troop 89 made it his Eagle Scout service project to find the names and dates of death of all those buried in the cemetery. Starting in October 2013 demolition of three buildings was completed; The Odyssey House, the Carriage House, and the Laundry Building.

Chase Woodlands is a nature reserve located in Dover, Massachusetts. The property was acquired by The Trustees of Reservations in 1993. The reservation includes 2.5 miles of trails and is located across Farm Street from the Peters Reservation. The Charles River Link Trail crosses both reservations.

Medfield Junction is a railway junction and former train station located in northwest Medfield, Massachusetts. It is the junction of the Framingham Secondary and the former Millis Branch. The station was open from November 1861 until April 1967.

Peters Reservation is a nature reserve located in Dover, Massachusetts. The property is owned by The Trustees of Reservations; the reservation's first parcels were received as a gift in 1988. The reservation is located across Farm Street from the Chase Woodlands, another Trustees-managed property. The Charles River Link Trail crosses both reservations.

Assington is a historic residence in Sherborn, Massachusetts. Built in 1929–30 for an investment banker, it was the last, and also the grandest estate to be built in the town. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 3, 1986.

The Daniel Morse III House is a historic First Period house at 210 Farm Road in Sherborn, Massachusetts. With its oldest portion dating to about 1710, it is one of the town's oldest surviving buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Connors Center is an event space and former estate located in Dover, Massachusetts. It is owned and operated by Boston College. The mansion was built in 1902 as a private home for Arthur and Mary Davis. The garden and stone landscapes were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. The property was purchased by the Dominican Order in 1949 and renamed to St. Stephen's Priory. The Dominican Order built a 70-room addition in 1952. Boston College acquired the property in 2004. John and Eileen Connors donated $10 million to establish The Connors Family Retreat and Conference Center in 2005.

Medfield Meadow Lots are a group of wetland meadows—Pratt Meadow, Perry Meadow, and Hinsdale Meadow—located in the Charles River floodplain within Medfield, Massachusetts, United States. The lots, totaling 16 acres (6.5 ha), are accessible by canoe or kayak only. They were acquired as an open space reserve via land donation by Henry Lee Shattuck in 1968. The Medfield Meadow Lots are part of a cooperative effort of non-profit organizations and public agencies to protect the natural and ecological character of the Charles River. Including the meadow lots, The Trustees of Reservations has protected over 4,000 acres (1,600 ha) of land on the Charles River floodplain.

Vine Lake Cemetery is a historic cemetery on Main Street in Medfield, Massachusetts. First established in 1651, this 32-acre (13 ha) cemetery has grown and evolved over the centuries, and remains the town's only public cemetery. Its sections include the original colonial burying ground, a section in the rural cemetery style fashionable in the 19th century, and modern sections laid out in the 20th century. The oldest dated marker is from 1661.The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Dwight–Derby House is at 7 Frairy Street in Medfield, Massachusetts. The Oxford Dendrochronology Laboratory took samples of the house frame in 2007 and determined that the earliest, southwest portion of the house was built in 1697, and an addition was built to the east in 1713. The town bought the house in 1996, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The First Parish Unitarian Church, now the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Medfield, is a historic church on North Street in Medfield, Massachusetts. The white clapboarded church was built in 1789, as the third for a congregation established c. 1652. In 1839 it was rotated on its site ninety degrees. It lost its steeple in the New England Hurricane of 1938. The steeple was replaced in 1988, and the building's many layers of paint were stripped off in 2007.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
