Minisink Hills is an unincorporated community located in Smithfield Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Minisink Hills is located at the intersection of Gap View Drive and Hillside Drive, along the west bank of Marshalls Creek, east of East Stroudsburg.

Shawnee-Minisink Site is a prehistoric archaeological site located in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania in the upper Delaware Valley. It was the site of a Paleoindian camp site. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The 1938 PGA Championship was the 21st PGA Championship, held July 10–16 at Shawnee Country Club in Smithfield Township, Pennsylvania. Then a match play championship, Paul Runyan won his second PGA Championship, defeating the favored Sam Snead 8 & 7. Nicknamed "Little Poison," Runyan was one of the shorter hitters on tour, while Snead was one of the longest. Runyan was five holes up after the morning round, then needed just eleven holes to finish off Snead, the largest victory margin ever in the match play finals of the PGA Championship. Snead won only one of the 29 holes, the 24th, which Runyan bogeyed. Runyan's victory four years earlier in 1934 took 38 holes to decide. Two-time defending champion Denny Shute lost in the third round to semifinalist Jimmy Hines. The course, now The Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort, is on an island in the Delaware River, east of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Brodhead Creek is a 21.9-mile-long (35.2 km) tributary of the Delaware River in the Poconos of eastern Pennsylvania in the United States.It is formed by the union of the Middle and Leavitt branches in Barrett Township in Monroe County. The native name was "Analomink." The present name was given for Daniel Brodhead, a prominent early settler. It receives McMichael Creek as it flows south and east into the Delaware River. The stream flows south, separating the boroughs of Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg. It covers a basin of 294 sq mi and its maximum discharge was 68,800 cubic feet per second, in 1955.Brodhead Creek joins the Delaware River at the head of the Delaware Water Gap.From 1888 to 1944, a coal gasification plant operated at the confluence of Brodhead and McMichael Creeks in Stroudsburg. The operations produced coal tar waste which contaminated the groundwater. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) placed the site on the Superfund National Priorities List in 1983. After cleanup, operations and monitoring activities are ongoing. The EPA removed the site from the National Priorities List in 2001.

Marshalls Creek is a 13.3-mile-long (21.4 km) tributary of the Brodhead Creek in the Poconos of eastern Pennsylvania in the United States. Marshalls Creek was named after Edward Marshall, a pioneer citizen. Variant names were "Marshall Creek" and "Marshall's Creek".

The Delaware Water Gap is a proposed rail station in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, as part of the Lackawanna Cut-Off Restoration Project. The new station would be built south of PA Route 2028 (River Road), about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the historic railroad station of the same name. Passenger rail service into New Jersey and New York City would be provided by NJ Transit or Amtrak via the Lackawanna Cut-Off.Parking would be available at the Pennsylvania welcome center, located southwest of Interstate 80. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recently completed improvements to the welcome center. A park-and-ride facility, a five-level garage with about 900 spaces, would be built in the current parking area. The amount of parking for the welcome center would remain unchanged. Pedestrians would walk between the station platform, located between the track and Interstate 80, and the parking site via River Road (Route 2028), which would be improved to handle the foot traffic. Cars coming from Interstate 80 would also use River Road.The proposed location is just outside Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Water Gap Station is located in Delaware Water Gap, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Service to Delaware Water Gap along what became known as the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad started on May 13, 1856. The station structure was designed by architect Frank J. Nies and built in 1903. It consists of two separate one-story brick buildings, a station house and freight house, joined by a common concrete platform and slate covered hipped roof. It is reflective of the Late Victorian style. The station closed to passenger service in March 1953, and was sold to the Borough in 1958. It is said to sit just outside Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, though it appears within the area's boundary on maps. The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 27, 2002.

Shawnee on Delaware is an unincorporated community on the Delaware River, part of Smithfield Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is situated just south of the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, 2.6 miles (4.2 km) southwest of the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area and approximately 75 miles (121 km) west of New York City. The first white settler, Nicholas Depuy, arrived from New Amsterdam in 1727. His home was used as a fort during the French and Indian War (1754–1763). In 1904, Worthington Hall, later known as the Shawnee Playhouse, was built in the village. Shawnee is also the home of the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, originally built as the Buckwood Inn with a course designed by A. W. Tillinghast in the early 20th century. The largest red cedar tree in the state is situated at Shawnee Presbyterian Church Cemetery, standing 36 feet (11 m) high and 67 inches (1.7 m) around the trunk.

Worthington Hall, now known as the Shawnee Playhouse, was an historic, American theatre that was located in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, but was delisted in 1986 after being demolished following a fire on June 24, 1985 that was caused by arson. It has since been rebuilt and now serves as a public entertainment venue.

WCSD-LP (104.9 FM) is a low-power FM radio station broadcasting a variety music format. Licensed to Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pennsylvania, United States, the station serves the Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania area. The station is currently owned by Shawnee Presbyterian Church.

The Deer Head Inn is a jazz club and inn located in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania. Established in the nineteenth century, the Deer Head Inn became the after hours, artistic home for jazz musicians who worked in the Pocono Mountain Resorts in the mid-twentieth century. Artists have included: Zoot Sims, Stan Getz, Phil Woods, Urbie Green, Dave Liebman, Keith Jarrett, Bill Charlap, Bill Goodwin (jazz Drummer), and Bob Dorough. In 1992, pianist Keith Jarrett recorded the live album At the Deer Head Inn there. The performance was to relaunch the club under new owners. Prior to the piano recording, when Jarrett played, he usually sat in on drums.Pianist John Coates Jr. played at the club for around 50 years, beginning in 1956. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he recorded several albums there. Woods became a frequent performer at the club after moving to the area in the early 1970s.The Deer Head, originally named the Central House, was built in the 1840s. It was bought by Mary Carrig, Dennis Carrig, Robert Mancuso, and Jason Wilson in 2005. Prior to them, the Lehr Family owned it for many years. Delaware Water Gap is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap, the pass through which the Lackawanna Corridor and Interstate 80 run across the Pennsylvania-New Jersey border along the Delaware River. The population of Delaware Water Gap was 675 at the 2020 census.
