The Northland temperate kauri forests is an ecoregion in northern New Zealand, within the temperate broadleaf and mixed forests biome.

Wainui is a locality in the Rodney Ward of the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) north-east of Waitoki and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of Orewa. The Wainui Stream flows south-west through the area and into the Kaukapakapa River.

Kaukapakapa is a town in the North Island of New Zealand. It is situated in the Rodney ward of the Auckland Region and is around 50 kilometres (31 miles) northwest of Auckland city. State Highway 16 passes through the town, connecting it to Helensville about 12 km (7.5 miles) to the south-west, and Araparera about 14 km to the north. The North Auckland Line also passes through Kaukapakapa. The Kaukapakapa River flows from the town to the Kaipara Harbour to the west."Kaukapakapa" is a Māori name meaning "to swim with much splashing". The town is commonly known to the locals in its shortened form "Kaukap".

The Rodney Power Station was a proposal for a natural gas fired combined cycle power station developed by Genesis Energy Limited. The project was abandoned in 2015.The power station would have been located on a 48 ha site midway between Helensville and Kaukapakapa on State Highway 16, near the Kaipara Harbour, north west of Auckland. The proposed development included substantial upgrade or replacement of the Helensville waste water treatment plant, which the local council would otherwise have to fund. The plant was designed to use high efficiency combined cycle gas turbine technology to meet the increasing demand for electricity in the north Auckland region. The location would also have assisted to ease constraints on HV electricity transmission.In its assessment of Transpower's proposal to upgrade HV transmission to north of Auckland, the Electricity Commission considered that the Rodney power station project provided a generation alternative to transmission.

Riverhead Forest is a state owned forest to the north-west of Auckland, New Zealand. Originally a kauri-dense native forest, the area was logged and the soil dug for kauri gum during the Colonial Era of New Zealand. In the 1920s, the area was designated as a state forest where Pinus radiata was grown. The forest is known for its recreational pursuits, including paintball, horse trekking and hunting.

The Tāhekeroa River is a river of the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows generally southwest to reach the Makarau River eight kilometres north of Kaukapakapa.

The Ourauwhare River is a river of the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is a tributary of the Kaukapakapa River, which it meets south of Helensville.

Auckland Surf Park is a proposed heated artificial surfing lagoon. In 2023, it was decided that the park would be located in Dairy Flat, several kilometres west of the Hibiscus Coast in north Auckland. Once completed, it will be the world's first heated artificial surfing lagoon.

Rodney is a local government area in the northernmost part of New Zealand's Auckland Region, governed by the Rodney Local Board and Auckland Council. It currently aligns with the council's Rodney Ward.The area was part of the Rodney District between 1989 and 2010, and part of Helensville Borough and Rodney County until 1989. Rodney is named from Cape Rodney (opposite Little Barrier Island), which Captain James Cook named on 24 November 1769 after Admiral Sir George Brydges Rodney.Rodney includes Kawau Island, Kumeū and Huapai, Helensville, Warkworth, Matakana and Wellsford. The Kaipara Harbour is the largest enclosed harbour in the Southern Hemisphere.The area has a rural economy. Dairy farming, horticulture, winemaking, forestry and tourism are major industries. There are several lifestyle blocks, retirement homes and holiday homes close to Auckland.The Kaipara Harbour and surrounding area is within the tribal area of Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara, which has five marae in the area.

Rodney District was a local government area in the northernmost part of New Zealand's Auckland Region from 1989 to 2010. It included Kawau Island. It was created from the amalgamation of Helensville Borough and Rodney County in 1989. The seat of Rodney District Council was at Orewa. Rodney District and Rodney County each took their names from Cape Rodney (opposite Little Barrier Island), which Captain James Cook named on 24 November 1769 after Admiral Sir George Brydges Rodney.Auckland Council has governed the area since 1 November 2010. The Rodney ward of the Auckland Region now covers much of the land area, but not the Hibiscus Coast or the former council seat of Orewa, which are in the Albany ward. The district was, in the final electoral term (2007–2010) of its existence, led by mayor Penny Webster and 12 councillors.

Milldale is a suburb of Auckland, 33 kilometres north of the city centre. The Auckland Northern Motorway forms its eastern boundary. Construction of the suburb began in 2019, and will take approximately 12 years to complete.In 2022, the developer of the suburb, Fulton Hogan, purchased a further 191 hectares of farmland adjacent to Milldale, known as Longburn Farm.

North Shore Aerodrome (IATA: N/A, ICAO: NZNE), also called North Shore Airport and Dairy Flat Airfield, is a small, uncontrolled aerodrome located 2 nmi (3.7 km) south southwest of Silverdale, near Auckland in New Zealand's North Island.
