Mohican-Memorial State Forest

Louis Bromfield High School was a high school in Perrysville, Ohio, USA. It was a part of the Mohican Juvenile Correctional Facility. All youth prisoners who did not have a high school degree were required to participate in the educational program. The Mohican Juvenile Correctional Facility of the Ohio Department of Youth Services was closed in May 2010.

Mohican State Park is a 1,110-acre (450 ha) public recreation area located on the south shore of Pleasant Hill Lake, five miles (8.0 km) south of Loudonville in Ashland County, Ohio, United States. The state park is located along Ohio SR 3 and Ohio SR 97 and is surrounded by the 4,525-acre (1,831 ha) Mohican-Memorial State Forest. The Clear Fork of the Mohican River flows through the park carving a narrow gorge and joins the Black Fork about a half-mile east of the park to form the Mohican River. The park is open for year-round recreation including camping, hiking, boating, mountain biking, fishing, and picnicking.

The Black Fork is a principal tributary of the Mohican River, 58.4 miles (94.0 km) long, in north-central Ohio in the United States. Via the Mohican, Walhonding, Muskingum and Ohio Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River, draining an area of 351 square miles (910 km2). According to the Geographic Names Information System, it has also been known historically as "Armstrongs Creek" and "Black Fork Creek".The Black Fork rises about 7 miles (11 km) west of Mansfield in Richland County, and initially flows northward through the city of Shelby, then eastward across northern Richland County before turning southeast for the remainder of its course through eastern Richland and southern Ashland Counties, past the towns of Perrysville and Loudonville. It joins the Clear Fork in Ashland County to form the Mohican River, about 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of Loudonville.A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam in Ashland County, completed in 1936, causes the Black Fork to form Charles Mill Lake.

According to the Geographic Names Information System, it has also been known historically as "Clear Creek" and as "Clear Fork Mohecan Creek".The Clear Fork rises in northeastern Morrow County and flows generally eastwardly through southern Richland and Ashland Counties, past the towns of Lexington, Bellville and Butler, and through Mohican State Park. It joins the Black Fork to form the Mohican River in Ashland County, about 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of Loudonville.Upstream of Lexington, a 1949 dam causes the river to form Clear Fork Reservoir, which provides drinking water to the city of Mansfield. In Ashland County, a 1936 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam causes the river to form Pleasant Hill Lake.

Pleasant Hill Lake is a 783-acre man made lake located near Perrysville and between Ashland and Richland counties in Ohio. Completed in 1936, Pleasant Hill Dam was built on the Clear Fork of the Mohican River. The dam which forms the lake is a 113 ft (34 m) tall earth-fill dam. It is located in Ashland but the lake extends into Richland. The lake which was constructed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, was built for the purpose of flood control.

Ramser Arboretum (680 acres) is an arboretum at the intersection of Ohio State Route 3 and Ohio State Route 205 in Danville, Ohio. Although privately owned, the arboretum is open to the public year-round except for deer-hunting season. The arboretum contains native woodland, planted hardwood, and agricultural land, with six miles (10 km) of hiking trails on hilly terrain.

Loudonville, Ohio is positioned along the Black Fork River, which makes it an ideal location for a mill. Although names, ownership, and even buildings have changed over the years, there has been a mill operating in the same spot in town since 1818.
