Hart-Miller Island State Park

Hart Miller Island is located at the mouths of Back River and Middle River, where they empty into the Chesapeake Bay east of the City of Baltimore in Maryland. It was formerly two separate islands, Hart Island and Miller Island, but it is now almost entirely artificial. In 1981, the area began being filled with dredged material by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, for the purpose of habitat restoration, and the project was completed in 2012. It is now in use as Hart-Miller Island State Park, accessible only by boat.

Back River is a tidal estuary in Baltimore County, Maryland, located about 2 miles (3 km) east of the city of Baltimore. The estuary extends from Essex, Maryland, southeast for about 8.8 miles (14.2 km) to the Chesapeake Bay. The watershed area is 39,075 acres (15,813 ha) and includes Essex Skypark Airport and the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant. The river is shared between Essex, MD, Dundalk, MD, and Edgemere, MD

The Craighill Channel Lower Range Rear Light is one of a pair of range lights that marks the first section of the shipping channel into Baltimore harbor. It is the tallest lighthouse in Maryland.

The Ballestone-Stansbury House, once misidentified as the Ballestone Mansion, is a historic plantation home located on Cedar Point between Back and Middle Rivers in Essex, Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. It is a part of the Rocky Point Park and is owned by Baltimore County. It was built during the late 18th or early 19th century and has been enlarged twice. The original portion was built about 1800. A one-story addition added 506 square feet to the house. A second floor was added to the addition c. 1870–1880.Ballestone Mansion was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 18, 1975.

The Cedar Point Light was the last house-type lighthouse built in the Chesapeake Bay. An early victim of shoreline erosion, the cupola and gables are preserved at museums. This light should not be confused with Upper Cedar Point Light or Lower Cedar Point Light, both of which stood in the Potomac River. Turkey Point Park is located in Essex, Maryland, United States, an eastern suburb of Baltimore. The park sits on roughly 32 acres (13 hectares) on the scenic Turkey Point Peninsula in Baltimore County. It has no relation with Turkey Point, Ontario, Canada. The park was an inspiration for the Turkey Point used by greasers (Drapes) in the 1990 movie Cry-Baby. Turkey Point Park is less than 2 acres (8,100 m2) in size and is surrounded by water. There are no walking trails through the woods and no toilets or any other facilities. It is locked at dusk due to safety concerns. ATV or vehicle use within the confines of the park is prohibited. Due to neighbors using the park, all dogs must be kept on a leash.

Essex Skypark (IATA: W48) is a publicly owned general aviation airport and seaplane base located in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, on the Back River Neck Peninsula off the Chesapeake Bay. It is approximately three miles southeast of Baltimore, Maryland and just south of Martin State Airport.

Middle River is an estuary in Baltimore County, Maryland, located about 5 miles (8 km) east of the city of Baltimore. The estuary extends from the community of Middle River, north of the Martin Plaza Shopping Center, to the southeast for about 4 miles (6.4 km), to the Chesapeake Bay. The watershed area of Middle River is 12 square miles (31 km2), and includes Martin State Airport.

Chesapeake High School (CHS), is a four-year public high school in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States.

The Craighill Channel Lower Range Front Light, named for William Price Craighill, was the first caisson lighthouse built in the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, USA. First lit in 1873, the range marks the first leg of the maintained Craighill Channel from the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Patapsco River into the Baltimore harbor and works in conjunction with the Craighill Channel Lower Range Rear Light. It was owned by non-profit organization Historical Place Preservation, Inc. from 2005 until the government took back the property in 2017 due to neglect. The lighthouse was put up for auction and sold to the highest bidder on September 15 2017 for $95,000.

Frog Mortar Creek is a tidal creek in Baltimore County, Maryland. The creek empties into the Middle River and surrounds the northeast and southeast sides of Martin State Airport.

Sparrows Point High is a comprehensive high school for students in grades 9–12 and is one of the 24 high schools in the Baltimore County Public Schools system. The school was established in 1908 and is located on a 35-acre (140,000 m2) campus in the southeastern corner of Baltimore County on a peninsula, which juts out into the Chesapeake Bay. The staff includes three administrators, 60 teachers, three guidance counselors, one librarian, eight instructional assistants, and four clerical personnel. Sparrows Point High is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and by the Maryland State Department of Education. The school's colors are blue and gray and the mascot is the "Pointer".
