Magdeburg-Eichenweiler station is a railway station in the Eichenweiler district of Magdeburg, capital city of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.

The ship Gustav Zeuner was built in 1894 at the Übigau Shipyard near Dresden as the first chain tug steamer of the second generation. It is the only almost completely preserved relic of chain boat navigation on the Elbe. The ship operated on the Elbe from 1895 to 1931 and is now a museum ship in the Magdeburg Trade Harbour. It is named after the German engineer Gustav Zeuner.

Jahrtausendturm (German: millennium tower) is, at 60 metres (200 ft), one of the highest wooden towers in the world. The tower houses an exhibition on the development of sciences, which is supported by many descriptive experiments with which the visitor can interact. One notable example is a powerful telescope through which visitors can observe the distant clock-face on the Magdeburger cathedral.

The Elbauenpark is a family and leisure park in Magdeburg, capital city of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The park area is about 100 hectares and consists of the parts Kleiner Anger and Großer Anger. The park areas are connected with a pedestrian bridge over the Herrenkrugstraße. The park has a total of four combined entrances and exits as well as three exits. According to the Stern magazine, the Elbauenpark is the best leisure attraction in Saxony-Anhalt.

The Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (German pronunciation: [ˈɔtoː fɔn ˈɡeːʁɪkə]) (OvGU) was founded in 1993, making it one of the youngest universities in Germany. The university is located in Magdeburg, the Capital city of Saxony-Anhalt and has about 13.000 students in nine faculties. According to the Scopus database there are around 32.900 papers published in international journals from the University.It was named after the physicist and former mayor of Magdeburg Otto von Guericke, famous for his experiments with the Magdeburg hemispheres. The University had three forerunner institutions. These were the Technical University, the Pedagogical college and the Medical Academy, the first of which was established around 1953. They were amalgamated to the Otto-von-Guericke University in 1993.

The GETEC Arena (until 2011: "Bördelandhalle") is an indoor sporting arena located in Magdeburg, Germany. The maximum capacity of the arena is 8,071 people for handball games and 8,820 for boxing matches. It is the current home to SC Magdeburg's Handball-Bundesliga team.
