Umupuia Beach

Duder Regional Park is a regional park situated on the coast to the east of Auckland, New Zealand, on the Whakakaiwhara Peninsula.The area was one of the first places in the Auckland Region visited by the Tainui canoe, becoming an important settlement for Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki. In the 1860s, the area was sold to the Duder family, who ran sheep on the peninsula until it was sold to the Auckland Regional Council and opened as a regional park in 1995.

Magazine Bay is a bay in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is located to the east of Maraetai.

Maraetai is a coastal town to the east of Auckland in New Zealand, on the Pōhutukawa Coast. Part of the traditional rohe of Ngāi Tai Ki Tāmaki, the area developed into a coastal holiday community in the early 20th Century.

The Wairoa River, also known as Wairoa South, is the second longest river in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows south from its sources in the Hunua Ranges, then northwards into the Hauraki Gulf. The Wairoa Reservoir and Hūnua Falls form sections of the river, and the Wairoa River flows adjacent to the township of Clevedon.

Maraetai Mission Station was a Church Missionary Society founded mission based in Maraetai, Auckland, that operated between 1837 and 1842. It was founded and operated by William Fairburn, an English carpenter and lay preacher, until his resignation from the mission in December 1841. A school operated alongside the mission station, and was taught by Fairburn's wife Sarah and their daughter Elizabeth. At this school, Māori children, primarily Ngāi Tai and Ngāti Paoa, but also from other surrounding iwi, were taught reading, writing and arithmetic. The children were dressed in European clothing, and were taught the English alphabet by singing it to the tune of 'God Save the Queen'.

Ōmana Regional Park is situated south-east of Auckland and just west of Maraetai, in the Franklin area of the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. It is owned and managed by Auckland Council.

The Pōhutukawa Coast is an area of the Auckland Region in New Zealand. The area covers townships south of the Tāmaki Strait: Whitford, Beachlands, Maraetai and Umupuia. The area was traditionally known as Maraetai, and is within the rohe of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki. In the 1920s, seasonal holiday communities developed in the area, which became permanent residential towns by the 1950s.

The Tāmaki Strait is an area of the Hauraki Gulf in the Auckland Region of New Zealand's North Island. The strait is east of the Waitematā Harbour, and is located between Waiheke Island, East Auckland and the Pōhutukawa Coast.

Beachlands is an outer suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, established in the 1920s, where development increased in the 1950s due to its popularity as a beach holiday destination. It is located on the "Pohutukawa Coast" and in close proximity to Maraetai. While connected to Auckland's waste water reticulation, all the properties collect their own rain water. Some properties have tapped into the underlying aquifers fed from the adjacent Maraetai-Brookby range of hills. No potable rivers are utilised for potable water locally. Many English migrants and increasing numbers of South Africans have moved into the area in recent years. Houses in old Beachlands often come with a quarter of an acre of land. The housing ranges from cliff top mansions to rambling and somewhat run down baches. The newer areas of Pine Harbour, Spinnaker Bay and Pony Park contain modern houses, generally with smaller gardens than in old Beachlands. District plan minimum size is 700 square metres for a section (piece of land), although some subdivisions were approved during a brief period which saw some in-fill housing (more sections in a given area). The fully serviced marina at Pine Harbour includes a ferry service to central Auckland with 20 departures per day in each direction on Mondays to Fridays. In 2015, the 570-berth Pine Harbour Marina and some 9 hectares of associated land were sold for $22 million. Natural attractions in the immediate area include Sunkist Bay Beach, Shelly Beach and Snapper Rock. The Domain is the small park in the centre of Beachlands on the corner of Beachlands Road, Sunkist Bay Road and Karaka Road. Offshore, Motukaraka Island (also known as Flat Top Island or Flat Island) is located near the entrance to Pine Harbour Marina and is accessible at low tide. It is a short walk from the shore. Te Puru Sports Centre, located in Te Puru Park between Beachlands and Maraetai, is the base for the Te Puru Keas (junior cubs), Cubs, Scouts and Venturers. A gym, tennis, sports fields and a large indoor arena provide a cultural centre that unites Beachlands and neighbouring Maraetai into 'the Pohutukawa Coast' community. The Te Puru Centre was initiated by local effort and fundraising and completed with a 50% grant from former Manukau City Mayor Sir Barry Curtis.A walkway/cycle-way runs between Maraetai and Beachlands following the coast through Omana and Te Puru.

Waitawa Regional Park is a regional park situated on the coast of Tāmaki Strait, east of Auckland, New Zealand. It is located in Franklin in the Auckland Region, near Kawakawa Bay and Clevedon, about 50 kilometres (31 mi) from central Auckland.The park was one of Auckland's first recreational parks, designed specifically for active recreational activities such as mountain biking, horse riding, kayaking and disc golf. One of the beaches is part of the Te Ara Moana Kayak Trail, while another will be a home base for marine education.

Whakanewha Regional Park is a regional park situated on Waiheke Island in New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf. It is owned and operated by Auckland Council.

Te Matuku Marine Reserve is a marine reserve administered by the New Zealand Department of Conservation. It includes Te Matuku Bay, one of the largest and least disturbed estuaries on Waiheke Island, as well as a surrounding area of sea. It covers an area of 690 ha (1,700 acres) and was established in 2003.The bay and marine reserve are named after the now-rare matuku or Australasian bittern.
