Howland Center, Ohio

Howland High School is a public high school in Howland Township, Ohio, United States, near Warren, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Howland Local School District. Sports teams are called the Tigers, and they compete in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the All-American Conference.

Howland Township is one of the twenty-four townships of Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. Along with Liberty Township, it is one of two urban townships in Trumbull County. The 2020 census found 19,042 people in the township.

The Youngstown–Warren, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area, typically known as the Mahoning Valley, is a metropolitan area in Northeast Ohio with Youngstown, Ohio, at its center. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the metropolitan statistical area (MSA) includes Mahoning and Trumbull counties. As of the 2020 census, the region had a population of 430,591, making it the 125th-largest metro area in the country.Taking its name from the Mahoning River, the area has a large commuter population that works in Cleveland and Pittsburgh and their metropolitan areas. It is located in the Rust Belt, the former industrial region of the northern United States. The Youngstown–Warren–Salem combined statistical area adds the Salem micropolitan area and Columbiana County, Ohio to the region, increasing the total population to 532,468. The Youngstown–Warren media market serves all three counties in the CSA, as well as the Mercer County, Pennsylvania and Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.

The Mahoning Valley is a geographic valley encompassing Northeast Ohio and a small portion of Western Pennsylvania that drains into the Mahoning River. According to information at the bottom of Page 321 in a publication by the Ohio Secretary of State's Office, the river name comes from an Indian word meaning “at the licks.”

Eastwood Field is a minor league baseball stadium located in Niles, Ohio, United States. It is currently the home of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, a collegiate summer baseball team of the MLB Draft League. Since 2000 it has also served as the home field for the Youngstown State Penguins.

Eastwood Mall is an indoor shopping center in Niles, Ohio, United States, serving the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. It is owned by the Cafaro Company. Its anchor stores are Boscov's, Dillard's, JCPenney, Macy's, and Target. The mall contains over 100 stores and restaurants across 1,600,000 sq ft (150,000 m2) of space. The mall is part of the greater Eastwood Mall Complex, which includes a variety of outdoor strip plazas totaling in over 3,200,000 square feet (300,000 m2) of shopping space.

Morgandale is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,139 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area.

John F. Kennedy Catholic School, often referred to as Warren JFK, is a private, Catholic school in Warren, Ohio, United States. It is owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and is divided into two campuses: the Upper Campus for grades 6–12 and the Lower Campus for grades K–5. The school athletic teams are known as the Eagles. The current building opened in 1964 as a replacement for St. Mary High School and was known as John F. Kennedy High School. Initial plans called for the new building to be named Annunciation High School, but after the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963, area Catholics asked the diocese to name the new school after Kennedy. In 2007, the school expanded to grades K-12 and was renamed John F. Kennedy Catholic School by adding the former Blessed Sacrament School. A junior high school program for 7th and 8th grades was added to the high school building, which was renamed the Upper Campus, while the former Blessed Sacrament School was renamed the Lower Campus for grades K–6. Later, 6th grade was moved to the Upper Campus. As of the 2017–18 school year, the school serves approximately 600 students in grades K–12, with over 300 at the Upper Campus.

Bolindale is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in southern Howland Township, Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,921 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area.

Bazetta Township is one of the twenty-four townships of Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 5,912 people in the township.

Niles McKinley High School is a four-year public high school in Niles, Ohio, United States. As of the 2017-2018 school year, the school had an enrollment of 748 students and 40.77 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 18.35)Notable alumni include Bo Rein and James D. It is a suburb of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. Niles is best known as the birthplace of William McKinley, the 25th President of the United States. Located in the nation's former industrial belt, the city's economy focused initially on iron manufacturing but later diversified to include steel and glass production. After the decline of the manufacturing sector throughout the northern United States in the 1970s, Niles has adapted to become a retail hub for the northern Mahoning Valley, with development centered around the Eastwood Mall complex and along the U.S. Route 422 corridor. The Mahoning Valley Scrappers, an MLB Draft League affiliate, play at Eastwood Field in Niles.
